  1. 4 would be borderline on remembering. You'll be visiting more than a park I assume, perhaps a region with something he will remember (cable car ride, zoo etc.) Something big and/or unique, rather than rides similar to home that won't stand out in his memory or impress him when looking at photos when older. I voted Singapore, it's the only place I've been, plus you've got Gardens by the Bay, the cable car and Lego land.
  2. Quite impressive that they fit that park and the back of house into that space. Also impressive is that all available roof space has greenery or solar panels on top.
  3. It was an April Fools prank by @pushbutton
  4. Looks to be just like the current style Dreamworld Express too - only posing as a steam train! (looks to be an electric throttle controller in the front of the tender).
  5. Queensland Rail? They've just gotten sprung for basically the same thing. A driver passed a red signal. The investigation revealed that he failed testing he'd passed three times previously. Further investigations discovered that many drivers where answering questions almost the same as the marking sheet used to test them.
  6. So, they've previously engaged a trainer and used a room onsite. They've now installed a sign over that room, rounded up some staff (in very cheap, thin shirts) and done a media release. Must have employed a former political media adviser.
  7. Certainly looks like it. Probably preparing their guests for that to become the next Chill space
  8. Thanks. Found the park but not the ride, didn't think of rcdb.
  9. Same. Not my type of ride, but listening to the motors do their thing was always impressive to me.
  10. What's the back story to that photo? Display piece?
  11. I've never understood the park driving the memorial idea. It should have been "if they want one, we will make the space and fund it", nothing more.
  12. Your top billing attraction isn't open due to whatever reason. Cash flow is non existent. You have very little money to spend. You need something now, not in two years time. You've just had to close a key ride permanently. Do you do nothing, or see who you can get and afford at short notice?
  13. The building itself is easily replaced at a new location. Take out the necessary walls to re-create the openings, remove the expensive bits (the ride essentially), level the rest and call in the real estate agent.
  14. Someone actually changed their like to a Fountain after your post 😀
  15. Personally, I don't do motion simulators as I get nauseous from them. Nearly threw up after Transformers Singapore (but wanted to ride it again!). But if there is something reasonable to follow SV (although highly unlikely), I'd get another season pass to the park in about 12 months time when our toddler is big enough to appreciate the place, and my son big enough to enjoy SV and maybe a few of the bigger rides. Otherwise as above, I will wait until it is relocated.
  16. You don't need theme park experience to build a building in a theme park though. You just need to have the right people employed by the theme park, to then find the right designers and contractors to build it.
  17. I work for a former aircraft engineer. He may not have a degree, and be a bit of a larrikin, but I'd trust him to fix my plane or manage ride maintenance. They take their safety very seriously. He was one of the team that repaired the overshot Qantas jet years back (the repair that cost more than a new plane, to preserve their safety rating). I'll ask him if he knows this guy.
  18. I think you misheard when she wished you had a bigger...... 😁
  19. Someone found the instagram account of one of the kids in it I think as well? Has been mentioned on here previously.
  20. Thanks for the information @AlexB. Both of our kids "came out through the sunroof", will warn the wife when she finally can get on.
  21. Talking probably ~1cm. Makes me think it's the mounting point in relation to the seat, rather than the belt itself.
  22. Yeah, sorry Push. There are two ways to read that post, and you've taken the 2% of the time option, not 98% of the time. Re-read it as if SV was being built as originally intended at Southbank, Brisbane, and you will understand what Brad meant.
  23. Very slowly. Normally with a winch a few metres at a time.
