Another Dreamworld FAIL !
CruiseSF replied to JackBenjaminBrissenden's topic in Theme Park Discussion
The password is not going to be something like dcbabhby8yhjhuiy98u98t78i;iu98u4Rih. It will be something simple that would have something to do with the park. -
He said they need to land, closing a ride and letting it site there doesn't sound like they needed the land.

Another Dreamworld FAIL !

If people are desperate enough they could do it. I was just give one possible way it could happen because he sounded so sure that it was impossible to hack facebook. -
Sea World thats who. At the minimum they could keep the area clean.

Another Dreamworld FAIL !

Just because its HTTPS doesn't mean it can't be hacked. All they needed to do was run a program that runs through every possible combination of passwords until they got in. Obviously with a delay so that it doesn't lock the account. -
Well the average tourist in Australia travels to the Gold Coast every few years. The ride has been down for years. I think they will notice that.
-
Well the best they could do is not say anything, don't say its closed to make way for a new attraction when nothing will happen for years down the line. Especially with two high profile rides and the make it worse SW was already low on rides.
-
I said a while back if MW came out and said that it was closed due to maintenance issues that required heavy cost, I wouldn't mind but no they came out and said "closed to make way for an exciting new attraction." Even here is a quote from my post.

What half the things I have said are fact, I am just growing tired of arguing. It why I try and comment very little because arguments happen so often here because half of the posters don't respect others opinions.

I am talking about now. Not when it first opened, all rides have issues at opening, just look at Despicable Me at UO. It has animation issues. MW on the other hand still have not fixed the audio on GL 7 months after opening. Have any of you learnt not to take things exactly as they are read. Of course not every company, I didn't think I would of needed to include companies that were in particular industry, I thought you would of been smart enough to figure that out, but I guess I was wrong. All Opinion. Most people still find Buzzsaw very enjoyable. Now can we end this as no one on this forum will ever agree to this but it is an opinion I have gathered over the years. I don't just look at what is currently in the park or what has been in the park but also the people they run it and how they run it.

For instance the river ride was in working order and having a statement saying closed for an exciting new attraction. It was not a roller coaster, it was a boat ride, so the issues were not likely as bad because it can be fixed by almost any company, whereas Eureka was made by a company that had gone out of business so therefore parts needed to fix the ride would of needed to be custom made which is quite expensive. If they say that the ride closed due to issues with the ride all would be fine. The thing about it is they say closed for an exciting new attraction and yet its been years since it closed. The situation is made worse by Sea World also doing the exact same thing, it leaves a sour taste in my mouth about the companies operating practices. Yes they are both built in a similar area (both right near the car park, but they are both completly different. Buzzsaw does not feel like a six flags coaster, it has theming, All GL is, is a roller coaster with bare ground underneath with audio that doesn't work more then half the time. At least everything works on Buzzsaw works.

Well Eureka is understandable as it was a safety issue and involved high cost the get it fixed. I believe that the Paddlesteamer was not retired but is being planned for another use very soon. The Skylink well it was really not much of an attraction or a ride only a method to get from one side of the park to the other.

Well Green Lantern is not up to MW standards and is basically a car park coaster, Arkham Asylum is just LW with a different style of pain with added wallpaper. The Justice league should and looks like it will give me a good impression of MW again. I don't care about parades as long as there is one as it means the lines for the rides goes down. I lost interest because they replaced PA with a generic copy of LMA from DHS (only not as good). Closing down LTRR with no replacement for years, Plus with the disappointments that were GL and AA. Dreamworld on the other hand has done things differently. Sure the coaster wasn't that great but at least it had a lot more theming then both of the MW attractions. Plus their is the Dreamworks additions.
-
Well, smaller operators, Cedar Fair, Sometimes Disney (When they have their act together such as in Carsland.), Universal, Dreamworld, I used to enjoy MW but after all the changes in the last few years I lost interest in them. Seaworld (US), and the Merlin parks. I don't want to comment on any others as I have not been to them.

Fake pics of "New Dreamworld Rollercoaster"
CruiseSF replied to Linus1995's topic in Theme Park Discussion
To clear everything up in one post. The photos taken were of a park in brazil and Thrill Zone tried to make them appear to of been taken at Dreamworld. This coaster has nothing to do with Dreamworld or its themes. The park in Brazil it is going to is Hopi hari Park and will be built in the Western section of the park. -
Not caring about the park only caring about records. I have a strong dislike for SF because they are a company with a lot of financial issues yet they treat guests like crap, can't keep buildings from falling apart and can't even run half of their parks at all.
-
mostly because they (Six Flags) Already have enough records and they are constantly trying to take everything that Dreamworld does and making it slightly bigger. It is slightly damaging for the parks as it means that Dreamworld doesn't get promotion because its the records, Records mean more to a small park then a big park. For smaller parks it gives them something for people who have never heard of the park to help them discover the park. For example a park with no records would get minimal tourist numbers for overseas for those who don't do tons of research or are from Asia (with most tourist being on tours). If a small park has a record it will be on TV and can be seen on the internet more often because people around the world talk about it. Six Flags on the other hand has tons of records already and is already a well know park and is far from small. They should stop trying to get records and try and fix up the dump of a park it is (look at westcoaster and TPR during the last West Coast Bash). Also SF has done everything Dreamworld has done recently. Such as reversal of the car, refurbishment and now an almost identical version (although crappier theming) of the Giant Drop.

I just find it funny that Six Flags can't do anything without copying someone else's idea.

This conversation is really sad but hilarious.

It would be best if the parks adopted what the parks in the US do. Some parks operate on a system like Dreamworlds on smaller capacity rides such as roller coasters. The other system they use is lockers that are free for the time that you are in the que (time adjusted depending on the time of year) and after that you need to pay. Movie World would never do it now as it would lose them money but they shouldn't of been so money hungry in the first place.
-
They can start with the dirt even without a building permit. The article linked is saying that the permit has been granted. This means that they can actually build something and not just do landscaping.
-
I have been wondering was it a licensing issue with Warner Bros or was it will the author of the book (I believe it was a book but it may of been any text type) who was taking legal action against WB for the movie.

MW review 21/06/2012 including street performance times
CruiseSF replied to MaxxTheMonster's topic in Theme Park Discussion
For example if the parks open at 11 (close to lunch) most people would have lunch then go to the park. If it opens at 9 or 10 people (who have no method for leaving the park just for food) will need to stay in the park for food. -

There is a reason they do that though. The parks that do this are usually small, and therefore are not destinations within themselves. These parks also do not get the sales figures that the larger parks get. So what happens is the parks open later in school holidays because they want to get more people into the park and the later hours of the day are usually the best times to get local residents into the park as well as tourists who view the sites then in the afternoon go to the park. So in these parks they will notice a larger amount of guests as the day progresses. With the low income (in comparison) these parks get it become quite costly so therefore in order to have park close later then need to have it open later as well. On the GC the situation is different the parks are the major attraction on the GC so no matter what time they open there will always be a stream of guests waiting to get through the gate at opening. So if they open the park later you are just making these people wait longer and spending their money outside the park when they could be spending it inside.
