  1. Well you can't really judge any attendance based on our current parks for two reasons. 1. They are restricting there attendance due to their small size. As mostly seen at Movieworld the small size of our parks limits the number of people who can or even will attend that day. 2. The parks are not big enough or even that attractive (brand names) to many international tourists. For example many tourists overseas would not even know about Dreamworld when they visit Australia. When tourists visit the US, Singapore most of them know about the parks due to them being known around the world. The Universal brand name is a trusted Theme Park name, so people know what they expect but if someone mentioned Dreamworld they wouldn't know what to expect. Another fact about the Gold Coast parks is that they don't really give the best feeling to make you want to come back time after time after time. So you never know a big brand theme park attendance may be completely different to what we are used to here. Even look at the fact that Disney has said they have had interests in building her but have had bigger priorities at the time (Shanghai).
  2. But which Saturday? and has it only been open on one Saturday?
  3. It was basically like the Studio Tour at Universal Studios Hollywood, except didn't have any purpose built attraction for it. It went around to studios giving people a look at what it was like. It closed because it was not as successful as they wanted it to be and it was have negative effects on their bank books, as well as being very short especially if their was any productions happening at the time. They tried to copy Universal but failed, due to size and funding issues.
  4. Seriously? Did you not just read what i just said. THE FACEBOOK POSTS BY THE MANY GC THEME PARK NEWS PAGES ARE STILL A BREACH OF COPYRIGHT.
  5. I still rest my case with all the facebook pages, posts. Even if Movieworld doesn't care about it, its still a breach of copyright.
  6. Well no one said media. All you said was that they sent it to everyone. You never said who everyone was.
  7. Even though they didn't say you can't use it they didn't say you can. So it is still against copyright. Just like all the facebook pages who are copying every post movieworld and dreamworld make word for word and also using their pictures.
  8. Yes I have actually. Yes and it is not as expensive, as everyone is making it out to be. Plus I am sure they can get it from other sources for much cheaper. That is the reason why many US parks keep the que away from the walls and objects. I just feel strongly that MW is letting itself go. With closing of rides (LTRR) and a massive decrease in theming over the years, as well as letting older rides deteriorate. They used to be my favourite park in Australia but they seem to be dropping the ball. You just need to look at GL and now this. Its got to the point that Dreamworld's last two rides have been better themed than MW last two rides. I would rather have Quality of Quantity and thats what MW has been about, until recently when they are trying go for quantity. That role should be left to Dreamworld. Basically MW should be Australia's Disneyland or universal Studios and Dreamworld should be Australia's Six Flags or Cedar Fair. It basically the role they have had since they opened. Yet MW seem to want to change. Especially considering MW has very little space to work with.
  9. Well actually it cheaper then you think to do those details, its the structure it self that cost the huge bucks. All the need to do is go to bunnings and get some wood.
  10. I will admit that is is better then what Lethal's theming had become over the years.
  11. Except almost everything is wallpaper. Half the details such as the prison doors are not that hard or even expensive to make into a 3D model of the door. All they needed was a few strips of wood and a handle/lock, with a bit of paint. At most it would be $50 a door if that (I am taking about the prison cell doors). This image of the entrance to the ride (At least I think its the entrance) looks cheap. The entrance to a ride is where they should put in the most effort as it acts as the first image a person gets of the ride, especially since you can't really see the ride from elsewhere in the park. It may be partially 3D but it is still mostly 2D and that box at the top just looks stupid. Plus the half the ride that is bare will stay bare.
  12. How can it be the most themed ride, less then half the ride is bare?
  13. The front of the line pass is not always useful. When I was there in January last year, it was school time over there and hardly anyone was in the park. We actually had a couple going into the front of the line, line for the mummy and we actually got to the front of the line quicker then they did. That whole day it was walk on every attraction at the park, even the studio tour. There were a few with the pass, so that day Universal made a few hundred bucks for giving people absolutely nothing. Also 20% is really good. I had an annual pass when I went as it was the same price as a one day and we planned to go to the park on two days. Its a great feature. Except you need to remember to show them when you make a purchase.
  14. I think they are getting at the fact that it is the first ride themed after the video game in the world.
  15. Also aren't theme parks mean't to be places where you can remove your mind from the real world.
  16. I was just making a point of the way its currently run, as we don't even know if they are thinking about machines. You can't really compare Disney and MW's operations, MW would fit in one land at disneyland.
  17. I am talking about the idea. Not bring in machines straight away. I was taking note of the extra staff members that are needed in the current set up. Sorry I didn't mention that in the post. I figured people could understand.
  18. Hopefully they end up making it like Disney's Fastpass, with similar distribution (machines they monitor how many passes each person has so they can only have one for each time slot.) As long as they don't change it would be good, if they charge it couldn't be any worse (well it could but you get the idea).
  19. By the sounds of the system it seems as if its cheap and nasty and was poorly thought out.
  20. They are coming. I am betting that they didn't add any rides at this stage because they wanted to get a new theme in there as quickly as possible.
  21. Well you also have the parts for the rides which are not ready yet, which most likely came from overseas. Unless they get a local company that I don't know of.
  22. Things are never fully finished at the parks, its something the parks are best at doing. As long as the primary parts of the new areas are done they will still open it, even Universal and Disney do this every now and then. It is also harder for the Aus parks because if they need parts for theming it needs to go around the world to get here.
  23. They better set a opening date soon other wise it wont be open for the start of the holidays.
  24. You do know they most likely will do that because construction for it hasn't started yet and they are all in the area which is currently untouched by new features.
