Sea World future attraction ideas
Intimidator305. replied to Flynn_Smith's topic in Theme Park Discussion
Has anyone considered a Premier Rides Sky Rocket 2 like Tempesto? Maybe even a ride like Gale Force? I have heard they are way cheaper than a new custom coast, especially from mack. They are quite tall, and a really thrilling and fun. plus they look really nice. Could have a cool theming as well, along the lines Jamberoo Fan's Ocean Currents. I believe they are regarded a lot higher than 4d free spins. They also only do one inversion so it would keep the family friendly theme. -

Has VRTP contacted you about the plans yet? This is great. It's unique and its never been done before. A 4D free spin looks pretty good, its not an overly expensive ride and the maze sounds great and unique, something that could work really well, keeping the park fresh. -

If its a new precinct, I just hope its not themed to DC. Do we have any ideas of what would make a good precint, while keeping theme with a massive new coaster? Could be a cool sci-fi or action/thriller thing. What kind of Movie does Movie World not have a ride themed to? We've got western, superhero, spooky, kids... A gap Movie World could be going out and making it themed to something not of a movie (doesn't make sense because its MOVIE world, but it would be cheaper with out having to pay for rights. -

That is a lot of trains. Personally I don't believe the coaster will have nearly five trains. While that would be beautiful, Australia couldn't sustain that. There is like no one in Australia compared to those other parks, so even if they had five trains, you would have lot of empty cars. It would be great because there would never be any lines though. -

That plan would be a cool color scheme though. The only problem I see with a flash themed ride, is that they would have to paint it red. They could paint it yellow, for the lightning, and the cars could be red for the flash, that would be cool, but there is a yellow flash and this might get confusing. If they paint the track red, it would easily get confused with Superman, because the triangular track of Intamin and mack are very similar and if they have the same color... Black looks nice though. -

A mini woodie does look pretty good. It would definitely help with the expansion of the park, becoming bigger, and it sure would draw in more crowds. But I'm pretty sure we've had some substantial hints that its going to be a flat ride. For one it was stated that there is a similar ride in the southern hemisphere, which I guess could mean Scenic Railroad, but there are really no woodies. Also, it said it would take guests to new heights. A mini woodie doesn't do that. Its not a complete ruling out, it's just fairly unlikely. -

Doesn't even look like it matches the footprint we have so far. From all the hints we've been getting from people who do know, this is the only thing that doesn't match. Please don't be surprised when I dont take this seriously. -
Height Of 2017 MW Coaster

I am apologizing for this new poll, it was unnecessary and when created, I didn't realize the amount of polls had been made this week. I'd be fine if the moderators took this down. Also, Alexb, I had a massive mind blank. I was thinking through what had been confirmed about the coaster and completely forgot the Tenders sorry. -

what confirmed it was a hyper? -
This is a simple poll to see what the height could be for the 2017 Movie World Coaster. There are two polls 1. To determine what the height will be from a business perspective. 2. To determine what we want the height to be from a coaster enthusiast perspective.

2017 for Gold Coast Theme Parks
Intimidator305. replied to Gold Coast Amusement Force's topic in Theme Park Discussion
We know the roller coaster is coming to MovieWorld. I wanted to say both (movie world and seaworld), but that wasn't an option. Also a flat at both would be great. -

Ryande16 , That would be a perfect addition. It's not an overly expensive type of ride as well. Only at an estimated 20 million in Australia. (not factoring shipping of track and equipment). It could use the terrain and location better than any flyer out there as it's in such a perfect location near the ocean. Could have a theme like fish swimming etc. But the chances of a B&M being constructed are pretty slim in Australia. Unless that green and gold track seen at the plant was meant for Australia, and there is a B&M coming sooner than we thought. Color scheme would make sense for the timing and location close to the games. -

I went to Sea World when I was a lot younger and actually enjoyed it over Dreamworld and Movieworld. It had so many rides, rides that I loved, and then those thrilling rides like Corkscrew and Bermuda that I dreamed of riding. But then I came back years later and was disappointed. I completed everything worth doing in half a day. There were not many rides left at all. The park felt way smaller. It had gone from a massive park that I regarded incredibly high for the atmosphere and rides, to a small park with little rides, almost like a little stop on the way to the bigger GC parks. Could the maintenance period be a clue as to the future of the park? It's been discussed, but could VRTP already have massive plans for future expansions? Two reasons this may be a likely outcome. 1. There was a rumor that Sea World was going to become the "biggest theme park in Australia". While this does just sound like media trying to start a story, maybe something slipped and someone found out VRTP's plans. With Vikings Revenge maintenance period (possible closure) announced around the same time, it could be possible. 2. The commonwealth games are coming up. VRTP have already begun renovating Movie World and making it bigger to accommodate the tourism, adding new rides and expanding (hotel and carpark). VRTP probably has similar plans for Sea World. It would make a lot of sense. They have a lot of land to work with, so it's not going to need some over the top thinking, and Sea World is right in the center of the Gold Coast, where a lot of people are going to stay. And if the renovate, people will look into staying at the hotel there and nearby. This makes a lot of sense, maybe even more than the Movie World's expansion. There is some evidence that this may be the case as well. The way VRTP is going at the moment, I am looking forward to any announcements they make. -

Allegro Crab, it could still be a helix, I have seen a fair few roller coasters where the turn around has a massive footing in the middle which has many poles sprouting out to the turn. Kind of like a circle, with the centre having the footing and the supports branching out to meet the edge. I believe its a way to reinforce the turn and is mainly used on wood coasters because its strucurally safer with wood (stretching into the centre of the turn) rather than having the supports stretching out of the turn like in steel coasters. This could be because the ground behind the turn is not suitable for the supports to stretch out of the turn, like most steel coasters, because of the bad soil and swamp. -

I believed that the station was at the end of the road. I wasn't sure what direction it was facing though. This is very in-depth and interesting. You pictures are great. It really gives a sense of scale when you look at tiny Green Lantern over shadowed below. This ride will change the view of the landscape massively. People will definitely be able to see this ride from their houses. Just wondering if that would be an issue? It wasn't with Tower Of Terror so I don't think it could be, but people are getting angry at the construction of a car park, so you never know. Compared with rides other parts of the world are getting, I believe Movie World would have chance to win the Golden Ticket Awards for Best New Attraction Of 2017. At the least I believe that this ride could take the cake for best roller coaster in Australia easily. -

From rides like Denominator, very similar, these drops are relly fun. If you sit on the right side seat, you kind of hang down and you feel like your freefalling sideways instead of just a traditional drop like most hypercoasters. It's great to see Mack experimenting with rides. On this scale, a drop like that would be insane. -

Maybe it'll have a fast cable lift hill like Intimidator? ( wink) A big ride that high with that turnaround would give an insane view to look at when you're at the top, and an impressive view when your driving in. Does anyone know any hyper coasters that have a turn around like this? Coaster through the clouds has a 180-degree turn while this looks like a 90-degree turn. -

BTW Flash is like 0.2 feet over the 200-foot mark. Looking forward to this ride a lot. Judging by the rides coming in the U.S. Movie World could have an opportunity to build the best roller coaster of the year. -

Do we have any ideas for layouts or certain elements that would make it an amazing ride? I believe a really large non-inverting loop would be cool, and a turnaround similar to the one coming to Energilandia in 20(18?), a non-inverting dive loop. Also, restraints must be good. -
When I rode the Viking Flume, I found it alright, a nice ride to fill time with a nice theme. I found it rather short and looking like it needed a little bit of love. I'm hoping that the period of down time it's seeing is some improvements. Definitely a good idea to make sure standards are higher than needed in safety especially after DW incident, but I'm also hoping they maybe add a bit more theming. I found it pretty bland once you get into the castle and beforehand felt like a missed opportunity. Before the lift hill, maybe there could be some theming similar to WWF but themed to Vikings, like a broken ship. The ride did feel quite short so, if they incorporated a story into the pre-lift hill, maybe they could slow the movement through that part making the ride a lot longer but not actually having to rebuild anything.
