  1. Dreamworld, in a way, are lucky they have this big brand coming on board at this stage.
  2. Will be trashy like the rest of the inner GC attractions. Felt like i was going to die on that bungy bullet.
  3. Yes but what about the thousands of families who are worried that their young ones will die on a ride there next? They will surely stay away.
  4. I don't know the actual figures but i strongly feel Sea World is on a massive decline at the moment as is Dream World and DW will likely have a massive loss next financial year. Movie World is obviously going to slay even harder next year and WNW is always constant. Aussie World is also on the uptick.
  5. I simply don't agree. From a thrill seekers point of view their new rides and attractions haven't geared toward me. Possibly families and young kids/teens but the park is in desperate need of a thrilling full length coaster.
  6. Will Sharon Bay have regular appearances of its namesake from Kath n Kim?
  7. The news have all but moved on from the D/W tragedy. It was massive news for about a week and then quickly died out when other things happened like that bus driver getting lit on fire in Brisbane. The funerals of the victims were like the 6th, 7th stories of the night when they happened. D/W re-opening will be a story but i think the media is bored of them at this stage. Trust me though, if someone so much as breaks a toe nail on a ride it'll be "Death Park strikes again!"
  8. No we shouldn't. We should always expect and demand more as it keeps them on their toes. Our continued patronage despite their poor efforts with new rides over the years has given them a complacent attitude, they need to step things up. ESPECIALLY now.
  9. The Gold Coast has 3 million+ people living within 2 hours of it. North QLD has about 1/6th of that in TOTAL. Plus its still not as popular as the Gold Coast in terms of bulk concentrated tourism (NQ is more spread out). Sorry but no.
  10. I daresay GoldRush will be completely re-themed in the future but the area will remain SBNO/closed for quite some time while the fallout from the 'incident' softens. I think a dinosaur/lost kingdom themed area would be fun.
  11. The problem with putting a major investment theme park in those areas is they are far less populated and draw less tourists than the GC.
  12. Great idea @Mark Shaw!!! Cant wait to fly over and come to Adventure World and experience the Avyss!
  13. I'm sorry but in the eyes of the general public they installed the same thing. If it looks like a duck and quacks like a duck, its probably a duck. Same ride concept with a couple of slight differences, same length, same ride experience, same colour scheme and right next to each other. Silly. They should've put in a Constrictor or Boomerango...or hybrid.
  14. Are you talking about Movie World, Sea World and Dream World? Surely they get more than 600 people per day. Add a 0 on that?
  15. Truly bizarre they went with essentially the same ride. These cant be cheap....? 3-5 million a piece? Why would they install the same thing? Makes NO sense.
  16. Yeah you're right. I shouldn't speculate. I just feel like ever since GD/TOT there have been so many missed opportunities to make the park into something world class. Starting with the mishap that was Cyclone and the total misfire with the motorcoaster. And the underwhelming Buzzsaw. I would swap all 3 in an instant for a B&M lol
  17. I can already see the media spinning the soft opening like "Dreamworld reopens; with many rides closed which have been deemed unsafe!" I shouldn't give them any ideas...
  18. I dont know, i feel like if they made a confident return and said yup all rides have been thoroughly checked over and certified safe it would instill confidence into the general public moreso than opening up a mostly not operating theme park. That reeks of no confidence. I feel like the park has just succumbed so hard to the media. It's just pandering now for PR sake. They need to get their mojo/confidence back and be like "yup, we're back! for good! better than ever" etc. It is a very touchy situation i get that, but i feel they've swung to far to that direction if you get what i mean?
  19. Damn, would've been cool to see what had happened if DW had stayed with the same owners and they kept up with that type of capital expenditure. Maybe if Ardent/Macquarie hadn't of bought it things could've been very different in terms of a certain incident too. Could've, should've, would've i guess. All spilt milk, water under the bridge i guess.
