What makes a coaster fun? Well, hate to break it to y'all but here's the secret... it's if it's fun.

I think I'd prefer "Jack Daniel's Buzzsaw", since a couple of shots of JD is the only thing that'd make that ride palatable.

What's going on with Scooby Doo themeing?
Cactus_Matt replied to pushbutton's topic in Theme Park Discussion
Even as an (almost) 30 year old the original Scooby Doo theming scared me! In a good way mind, let's just say there's no need for whatever future theming that comes in to traumatise children, the Gremlins ride did that enough to me thank you very much. -
You can guarantee that if there was a routine ride stoppage the same day World War 3 was declared the media would still find a way to cover it as if it was somehow relevant in the grand scheme of things.

Is the "hyper" branding really important?

I don't know if it was mentioned earlier in the thread (i'm too drunk to be bothered to check) but how does the upcharge on AA work? Where/how do you pay the extra $5? -

I'm interested to see some brakes, yeah, I know possibly the lamest thing to want to see from a roller coaster but I've never seen a brake run separated from a roller coaster and just have an odd itching to see what it looks like. HEHE! -
So, had a random nostalgia-gasm thinkin' bout this ride the other day, yup just thinking about it, but seriously what is it/where can I find it or a version of it anywhere else in the world? I know the Australia's Wonderland page says the ride type is a 'Sea Panic' but googling that came up bupkis, *screams into the void* "MOAR INFO PLS!" Linky for those interested http://www.wonderlandhistory.net/content/hms_endeavour P.S. I'm drunk. P.P.S I'm always drunk

I thought this was interesting. RCDB themselves calling a 166ft roller coaster in Japan a hypercoaster, it does by all appearances meet the physical definition of a 'standard' hypercoaster. So maybe there's more wiggle room on the 200ft minimum after all? Edit: Link https://rcdb.com/1194.htm

Sorry poor choice of words on my part, I meant like ground level photos or better yet a youtube vid walkthrough of the place.

I'd like the ride to go right over the top of the tower and continue down the other side then circuit through/around the old river and back into the station like an air powered coaster. It'll never happen because it would cost 10's of millions to do and the launch speed would have to be at least 200km/h.

There's no way it'd be used for emergency access/escape for guests, it'd be strictly for maintenance if that is indeed what it is for. -

Not big enough for coaster tunnels. They look maintenance/emergency related perhaps. -

Could be an above ground tunnel, certainly cheaper than digging and concreting one. -
Seeing the abandoned Blue Lagoon like that makes me want to see what it looks like up close. So many memories of that place as a kid.

As much as I'm sure they pulled that info out of their respective arses, it WILL be faster than Superman Escape, and who knows given a couple of years TOTII might end up launching even slower -
I'd love one side of the Giant Drop to feature stand up variants of the gondolas, and by love I mean would be even more petrified to ride than it currently is.

On the topic of 'e-stop' I remember the very first time I rode The Tower of Terror it went past the station, I didn't even know it wasn't supposed to do that until I heard murmurs from other riders and then having the carriage slowly brought back to the station by ride operators, quite the experience! As much as I hate to say it as it is now Terror of Terror 2 is a pale shadow of what was once a great (very good?) ride, and not just because of the reduced launch speed.
