  1. No, because they use a human grouper who can let in the whole group
  2. Out of curiosity, how long does the hydraulic system need to reset after a launch?
  3. Your (rough) numbers are slightly off. 364 day trade assumes its open 364 days. Factor in the 3-5 weeks of annual maintenance, assume a perfect year no downtime, and add in the # of testing cycles it performs every morning also. Otherwise, interesting call out. Also in the ride stats it does call out 480 Riders / hour with 2 train ops.
  4. Yeah sorry, I've practically seen all his videos, hes shown other Alpine coasters before with him on them, and also if I remember correctly, one of those bike like ones where you pedal yourself? As he said in the originally linked video, its not the height, speed or movements, as hes been in fighter jets and done other 'extreme' stuff, its just the initial drop.
  5. So if a group has Fastpass, good luck, guess how many the next train will let on, have a great day.
  6. See if you addictively watch them as soon as they are released, the problem is spread out over a much more manageable time frame.
  7. While we're here, his new video on the regular channel very briefly features an Alpine Coaster.
  8. Genuinely is one of the best YouTube channels out there. I didn't mean to sound cynical in my initial post, was just trying to convey the angle that Alton Towers has and what they would get from it (on top of being on a super popular global YouTube channel)
  9. You also run into a delay dominos effect, overseas manufacturing delay, shipping container delay, port delay, shipping delay, then covid wave, then customs delay, labour delay. There seems to be a lot of instability in the construction world. Not saying what they have done is right, but "covid" isnt just "covid"
  10. Back when the Gold Coaster was the Cyclone, Dreamworld did a promotion (can't remember the name, double something?) where essentially you get 2 goes, no re-queue. For Cyclone, the harness released and they had to recheck them. Also at private functions if there is no queue, they do similar where they release the harness and recheck. The benefit of that one is they make you put your beer on the station next to where you load so you can grab a sneaky drink while they re-set the harness.
  11. Alton Towers did a "safety" fluff piece with Tom Scott under the guise of him getting over his rollercoaster fears. Pretty entertaining watch.
  12. Nah, that would be most featured on Planez or Shipz. Not sure Rivets would be used a heap at the servo.
  13. Feeling personally attacked. I notice when my local shops get a touch up or they paint new street lines...
  14. I hope when considering that, they are future proofing also, for both parks.
  15. Which venue? I need to get married at some point soon
  16. Could it be darker so it still looks "good" when its fading? Painting it now is a good idea since half its life has been during COVID and now tourism both domestic and international are on the cards, do you want to go on the faded pink one or the brand new bright orange?
  17. I accidentally came across a pic from Sea World in October 2020 and they have the same on theirs. Does anyone know if these models differ between the 3 parks?
  18. Also an 'exclusive' (about a good thing) brings more visitors than an exclusive to an enthusiast site.
  19. Cool, yeah that makes more sense. Direction rather than location being the big change. Cheers.
  20. excuse my ignorance, the carousel is round, why would moving the booth to the front rather than the side change visibility?
  21. Dreamworld lose Wipeout, Seaworld gain Vortex Seaworld lose Monorail, Dreamworld gain a new train
  22. Honestly that really sucks, and that menu sucks because its just the same sort of foods elsewhere in the parks. If its going to be a set menu at least offer something different than Burgers, Hot Dogs and Chips...
  23. Someone up further said the same about shark bay. They are aquatic themed exhibits that you can move through in your own pace and not forced to wait 1+ hours for a 1minute ride. Shark Bay specifically is a bad example to call out against my comment cause the upstairs portion is enchanced by the location. The fact you can go downstairs is added bonus that takes nothing away from the space or attraction. My comment was more on a whole dark ride. In my opinion the reason you would want a dark ride is to control the whole environment but as I said before, I think doing that at SW wastes the best natural environment I've ever seen at a park in the world. Storm Coaster has that indoor element, but the main attraction of the ride and peak of the hight gives awesome views across the park and water. I get people here get hard for old Bermuda. Sure it's a great ride, I'm not saying it wasn't. My point is i would prefer open air, but it's also gone so 🤷‍♂️ And I'm also not saying you can't have shade from natural or unnatural methods...
