  1. I stand by, the Super Villians parade is the best yet, with the lasers and other lighting effects, smoke and the villians 'interact' with the crowd, more or less trying to 'scare' them, whereas the Super Heros just stand and wave. Don't get me wrong, my son who LOVES the flash gets excited seeing him (even though he ignored him wearing both flash shirt and hat) and was super excited when Green Lantern pointed him out and waved, but the rest of the parade was a bit Meh for him too. For reference hes 7
  2. I find the Villains Parade to be more captivating and just has that bit more energy with flame throwers, and people interacting with the crowd. Copying what @themagician said, this is literally just a parade with waving and I was a little disappointed considering how much it was built up, in my opinion although I could have just built it up in my head.
  3. Yeah for sure. I re-read what I wrote and it totally comes across in the wrong way. I was more just curious as to why, not blaming them for using an excuse.
  4. Which explains the sign out the front saying "reduced capacity due to circumstances out of our control" Would love to know why a train being dismantled is out of their control.
  5. I went on Doomsday 4 times yesterday (first time my son was tall enough and it was open) and as mechanical and structured as the ride is, its a 1 trick pony. Not much more it can do really except maybe an additional spin each way. Overall I'm pretty satisfied with the length of Doomsday. Load and unload of Doomsday only takes forever due to the seating layout. An additional 2 ops would halve the time.
  6. I assumed as much. Would have added difficulty with low crowd numbers and somber skies.
  7. For a ride that seats so many people, and takes so long to check harness and seating, the cycle is way too short.
  8. I actually find this kinda hilarious since QLD only just relaxed the buffet COVID rules allowing buffets again. Also chiming in with everyone else. MW was great today, lots of staff and characters and low ride wait times. Some Nathan dude in a suit was walking around watching all the main street shows then chatting to his staff after them also, and noticed a lot of filming going on, some seemed professional too.
  9. @DaptoFunlandGuy I don't want Arkhams replacement to top Rivals as such, but I think keeping some form of 'gimmick' coaster would be a good idea. Be it a suspended, wing, dive, standing, 4D or something along those lines.
  10. As much as I love this ride, I don't think its a good Arkham replacement
  11. my exact thoughts. Hopefully can finally line up my visits..
  12. Do Mack do pull throughs? I don't rememeber Rivals having a pull through
  13. Yes, should clarify I meant not able to be used on VTRP One Pass.
  14. Just FYI it looks like the GC Dollars voucher can be used on DW passes, but not on VRTP Passes.
  15. absestos? / large amounts of absestos? its still somewhat out of the way and generally can't see it.
  16. Luckily Trident will be right next to it, so many guest will soon be able to see Also thanks yeah.
  17. Thanks @DaptoFunlandGuy, always appreciated. Sorry to be that guy but is it possible to get a higher res / zoomed in image of the Atlantis area? Not the abilities of Near Map
  18. This $100 pass is also coming out just when the QLD government is handing out $100 gold coast vouchers...
  19. White Water incident, regardless of how it happened literally injured someone and was reported (hyped up) in the news. The GL incident, although way more severe caused 0 injuries and was reported more or less like a normal ride stoppage. The closest you get is this quote: In the media, there is nothing to report on since "nothing" happened.
  20. Just to ruin the hate parade on the program, the GL incident, as bad and horrible as it could have been, it didn't kill or dismember anyone. It's nowhere near as headline and news grabby as actual deaths and permanent injury. VRTP in no way paid to come out as the good guys. A LOT of the general public aren't aware that GL had a major incident, and the regular downtime of the ride kinda helps with that since that time period was just "another downtime".
