  1. They recently re-surfaced all the bridges over the Vikings troughs and the station looks like it had a quick once over clean. The roof beams look somewhat recently painted. Otherwise no word on it.
  2. Look, compared to last years I don't think its anywhere near as good, but being realistic and completely honest it was a different style. It was really short (as they run it 3 or 4 times a night) There is a minimal firework and minimal pyrotechnic display. Essentially it was just a musical number (which was good) and a few water jets. The lights also weren't as good as last year. My theory is that they did a smaller/cheaper show scaled back due to covid limitations. If NSW was allowed up it would have been bigger/better. I'm not concerned and think this was just a dip in the quality. 2022 Seaworld will have new rides and I hope the monorail running, bringing a new vibe to it and Spooky Nights 2022 will be their biggest ever. Quick Edit: Captains Dinner was well worth the money. Good was nice, drink was good. A dedicated table and space away from crowds was awesome and super friendly staff
  3. to be financially viable in Australia I assume the ticket cost would need to be an extra $150-200 each
  4. https://www.news.com.au/finance/money/budgeting/electrical-engineer-saves-thousands-and-pays-off-debts-with-theme-parks-annual-dining-pass/news-story/200b813929826ce5c5b3d52a40584631 Honestly, I'm impressed.
  5. They probably should since the GC can get cyclone speed winds and since 1970, 5 cyclones have passed through or near the GC Edit: Source - http://www.bom.gov.au/cyclone/history/tracks/beta/
  6. Thats a solid idea. Honestly surprised it hasn't been mentioned earlier.
  7. Honestly the website should be backwards compatible. I'm using Version 94.0.4606.54 (Official Build) (64-bit) since I'm on a work controlled machine and they need to approve and push through updates. I also enjoy that the map is a mystery for me. A real hide and seek experience.
  8. So assume the other side will be going down for replacement once the West side opens?
  9. I dunno if this was ever discussed but apart from the stupid Australian sun ruining this, i would have loved the exit of LW/AA to have been the entry.
  10. My mates band is playing a set at FearaPhobia on the 30th? Not my thing so sounds a bit odd having them play but Fumarole are a solid band so if you're there on the 30th check em out.
  11. Unlikely. I've tried many times but I just can't seem to get grass and trees to grow on my concrete slab out the back so I doubt Seaworld will be able to do the same. Also that concept art is out of date. Yes sorry I should have mentioned, its the Maintenance shed and can clearly see that when at the park since the coaster goes next to it and not into it. If they want to hide it, I think some wooden cladding could do the trick quite easily. From within the Nick area its not particularly visible as the trees/hedges are quite mature in that space. Also there is a massive wooden coaster next to it that kinda draws your attention anyway. It was super visible from the Tavern though. Off topic side note, I really enjoyed the Captains Dinner at Spooky Nights. Well priced and really attentive staff and just good to get away from crowds and chill out for a bit.
  12. Anyone order a Wooden Roller-coaster with a side of huge metal shed?
  13. The fact DW (likely their insurance) is suing someone means they have chalked this one up to human error also. The human errored in not making the rides safety up to standard.
  14. Could be really pessimistic but I took that as they saw the negative feedback from Vortex and decided to hold off and work more on theming / landscaping and have to wait until the next budget release. Still no view of the front of train, but kinda understandable. They want to keep some secrets.
  15. The Stadium example is horrible. I've seen the ticket booths at Suncorp fail and they enter 20,000+ people in 15 minutes. It helps that they have 4 main entry gates with around 15-20 turnstiles at each gate.
  16. I'm happy with the queue from the photos ect, but I think 1 thing its missing is a pass over from the coaster. Understand thats almost impossible since the queue is next to the launch, but still I love coaster interaction with queues and paths.
  17. Correct me if I read this wrong, but is the Danski/Polley defence "Ardent screwed up so our screw up doesn't count"?
  18. I wish the eyes had lights. Just a little thing that would probably not work after 1 year, but still, with the parks putting on more and more events and (particularly MW) just opening an extra hour or 2 later (in winter this pays off) the parks are dark enough to show off the lighting effects.
  19. MW realised that they probably can't get away with a euthanasia coaster so figured they would lower the bar and trial a seizure hyper coaster instead.
  20. "Never buy a smart car, the only way to make it go fast is to scare it"
  21. Since Hot Wheels is a sponsorship requirement, and honestly not that much of a mouthful anyway, why bother changing Sidewinder to Racer? At least it wasn't Hot Wheels Sidewinder Rollercoaster, or Hot Wheels Sidewinder Looper.
  22. Seeing as they are only advertising Vortex out of the new 3 as a Thrill ride and the rest of the lineup is very family orientated (with exceptions of Storm, although my child happily went on that at age 6 and Jet rescue does have a higher height limit) , I would say little, and they know and expect little. I think SW has their plans for being more family than thrill.
  23. Why does everywhere need a brewhouse. I dont give a shit if its made there. I just like beer. Edit: Also that screenshot looks wayyyyy more than $300m
