  1. There is a throwaway line at the end of that story that sounds like all queues will use the VRTP App for the virtual queues. Like everything else in the world, I wonder how this will change Amusement/Theme Parks in the future, post COVID. If that requirement stays, parks won't require a queue allowing people to see more shows, buy more merch and food and rides won't require as much space. (Obviously need a queue for the next 20-30min of guests)
  2. Also, sitting in stationary seats, easily separated from others is no where the same as lining up, then being packed onto a rollercoaster train or a flat ride. Compare like for likes but theme parks are not a like for like here. Cinemas and Stadiums, sure go for it.
  3. Australia Zoo is more or less passive also. They have had to stay open for staff to feed, care for and clean the animals during the shut down. That includes continuing to do their presentations and enrichment activities as the animals are used to it. Additionally a lot of the staff at Australia Zoo are actually volunteers. Allowing public just lets them offset some of the costs and being to the zoo many times (6 year old loves it), the whole zoo has large open areas, and the stadium always has many spare seats. The only areas that would need more work are the transport buses around the park, the otter and tiger shows and possibly the snake enclosure but only QLD locals attending would mean they should be fine for now.
  4. In my complete lack of creative Vision, I would use the V's similar to how Marvel introduce their name with the comics flashing up as videos in the letters before becoming a solid red word. With the parks, using iconic video and imagery for 2-3 seconds, like dolphins jumping, the HWSD2 explosion, WWF, Mammoth Falls splash down ect Further they have 6 V's and 6 Parks or attractions so it works.
  5. @joz Not saying they think they have ruined the parks but its super rare for anyone to out win a rose tinted view of what the parks were. I think its smart staying away from trading on that and instead using their recognisable logo and company name. Remember this is also an ad for Village Roadshow Theme Parks, not for Movieworld, Sea World, Wet N Wild or the other one. Yes, you're right, they totally need to find a better way to incorporate the 4 parks names/logos into the end screen. I'm no ad man and creativity isn't my strong point so I won't suggest what to do. I also do really appreciate these level headed discussions. Working from home is doing my head in.
  6. That nostalgia only works if you were lucky enough to have a family who could afford to go take you to the parks as a kid. Additionally, hows that nostalgia trip working out for you? Pretty much everyone complains that "The parks were better back in the day" so that would be a negative advertising perspective. Better off using a nationally recognisable brand (albeit less in the spotlight for the last 10 years) that doesn't trade on 'the better days'. I'm not saying they have done a great job or there isn't more they can do, this ad to is a start. There is a long way to go to build an iconic ad. I'm also really really really happy they didn't say "we're in this together" or something about the "unprecedented times" Final point. Yes they don't say who he is, but he is a well dressed dude on top of the rollercoaster, and then talking directly to the camera talking with ownership over the parks, hes clearly "Someone important" and thats all the general public really cares about.
  7. So my take, to me growing up in the 90's, a lot of the VHS I watched, started with the Village Roadshow V's flying in, so to me they are iconic and nostalgic. With time and a good marketing strategy Village Roadshow Themeparks as a common brand could work, but its a bit of a mouthful. The 6 syllables don't really roll off the tongue. Having Clark as the face of the company is a great idea though. Lets not forget generally speaking, Australia (and the world) is racist and hes white. Clark is also objectively speaking, not bad looking, and could speak clearly while still holding onto a strong Aussie accent, which helps international markets. I assume thats his family at the end? Makes sense for an ad like this and could work for other styles / targeted ads but not something I want Village to run into the ground.
  8. What about Jet Rescue? Also good to hear that the engineers are still permitted to enter the country. Obviously just takes longer (and I assume they get a 14 day quarantine holiday).
  9. They better hope it stands up to traffic too. These guys a posting all of this over their social medias so anyone who searches that tag will see the pictures.
  10. Those plants will look good in 3-4 years time
  11. Depending on the size of that, it looks really cool, but I think perspective is at play here and looks a bit bigger than I hope it is.
  12. In my example, expanding towards paradise country would be when WWF is knocked down so they could fill in, or develop the water reservoir. Ideally in that example they would do something similar to whats happening at SW where they drop large expenditure and do a whole area.
  13. I don't think they are opening it though, which makes sense. Its the low season anyway. As much as those numbers are high, as discussed they won't get anywhere near it anyway since tourism in QLD is restricted currently to people within the state.
  14. If they really wanted to maximise their space without "moving" they can try and turn the car park into a 3-5 story car park creating a lot more space + they could build and "office tower" of how ever many levels they are allowed / need to move offices into a centeral location and reclaim building space from those areas. Finally, not sure how possible this would be also but they could expand backwards towards Paradise Country, albeit with a bit of a redesign such as knocking down Wild West, and moving the car park. Pretty sure they Lease that bush area.
  15. You seem confused, given you reacted with a confused emote and I can see that now. I've not said anything about your friend or your spelling. Your spelling actually has been great which is a welcome change from some of the kids that join. Punctuation, specifically run on sentences is the problem. I've corrected your post for you so you can see whats missing. It's also now 8:20 in the morning so you're 11:30 at night excuse isn't valid.
  16. With boarders closed and no internationals allowed to visit, its likely only pass holders that will go.
  17. Isn't that surrounded by apartments now? Edit: As in, the rainbow needle goes into the apartment lobby? Also its 100% not built to take those forces.
  18. Since you posted this, you have posted twice. A total of 3 sentences written, containing 177 words. Please follow your own advice.
  19. Do you mean this one? http://www.funtime.com.au/data/index9.htm
  20. Probably out of budget, but does Movieworld have the space for a flying coaster? I'm thinking if anywhere it would be the BOH area used at fight nights / Arkham area, but then a Flying coaster is great with path interaction...
  21. Now schools are back he really should go and learn how to punctuate sentences and paragraphs. My 6 year old is learning simple sentences at the moment. Shout out if you need some tutoring outside of school.
  22. Which is why I said Dreamworld needed at least 3 full circuit coasters first, and never mentioned specifically a Vekoma Boomerang, but just a shuttle style coaster of any type. Maybe a prototype/world first style, similar to what Dreamworld did with ToT, being the worlds tallest/fastest and a shuttle... Need I remind you this is clearly a hypothetical discussion so open your mind and be imaginative and dream a little.
