  1. It's like the same as getting a rollback on a launch coaster. A mix of the PLC timing and the weight of the launches. Since the audio isn't a necessary function required to operate the ride, it's often out of time of just not working at all
  2. Shouldn't we be watching WWF? But for real, if they are planning on actually doing a tech overhaul and getting all the effects working correctly, I will regain some hope that they might just care about the little things.
  3. Just like when you hear kids telling stories of the cheeky ride op who launched batwing on "2" just to scare the riders
  4. Those on-ride effects have been a pot luck since the ride caught fire in '07
  5. I still remember going to DW as kid and always wishing I was able to get one of the annual passes but they were like $200. Or you could flash your cash and get a platinum pass that lasted for 2 years. Though DW always felt like the more expensive, more exciting option when I was a kid.
  6. Hopefully they utilise the audio system for more than a week
  7. Just gotta wait about 10 years for it to find a new, hopefully less awkward, name. Something more fitting of being the first behemoth of its kind in the country.
  8. Rivals is a great icon to drive past on the M1 with the illuminated joker head but Superman is still regarded as one of the best launched coasters in the world. I guess it would depend on whether we're looking from an enthusiast point of view or from the GP perspective.
  9. Got moved around a few times, Had been in the main fountain and in the water area near the Dreamworks entrance
  10. To be fair, before the repaint, a lot of the supports around the station were fairly faded and covered in crap.
  11. I know it's picky and petty af, but jesus, could the graphic designer at least try a little harder to replicate the track design... or layout. Looks MDMC on crack
  12. Nothing says family coaster like riding it backwards...
  13. Theres a good reason big players like Disney and Universal still use ride systems like that. It's fairly simple tech but with all of the other advancements in tech, it just helps to further enhance a simulator style ride.
  14. It would be a much smaller project. Something like Disney Wharf that was once planned. Somewhere Disney owned that can be a gateway experience before boarding for a bigger Disney adventure
  15. Disney have tried multiple times. Even if Australia wasn't an island in the middle of nowhere, the government aren't willing to throw "Disney money" around. Do remember Disney parks are generally 50/50 funded by the government during startup.
  16. At this point, removing all of that old infrastructure would be an invasive and awkward mess. Easier to just leave it until you've got a proper plan to actually revamp the area.
  17. Eh, she'll be down for a few months because the chain is on a boat somewhere. Oh well, may as well throw some paint on it and get the engineers to give it a look while it's just sitting there 2 birds 1 stone sort of thing because once the chain arrives it'll be kicked back into full operation assuming everything goes smooth.
  18. Worst time of the year to build a coaster, most common time of the year to build a coaster in Aus
  19. But if anyone could rock a mask, it's @CaptainLazerGuns
  20. >70 years in the future >Dreamworld has turned into the Westfield Coomera branded Township >2 vehicle car crash happens >On the very same spot where 75 years ago the TRR tragedy took 4 lives, a car crash has now taken one more.
  21. I don't think that's the kind of crowd they want to attract...
