  1. Suggested updates were never taken on board. Things such as positioning sensors or conveyor speed regulators. Primary source of ensuring raft spacing was undertaken by load and unload staff. This was not sufficient to ensure rafts did not collide or flip. Should have been addressed due to rafts colliding and flipping in 2 previous incidents in 2014 and 2001. The risk of rafts colliding was known to Dreamworld. Investigators were unable to replicate the outcome of the 2016 but are confident that it was still a very high risk. It became apparently during the inquest that best practice was not followed on the ride. These standards are the minimum requirement.
  2. Full findings are a 300 page report that will be available upon the completion of today. Coroner commended all people involved in the coronial investigation. Gave special thanks to Queensland Police investigator Nicola Brown. Also gave thanks to Steven Cornish from the Queensland Police Service. Coroner is providing a timeline and overview of the investigation. Coroner believes the unload/load area posed significant risk. The spacing of the slats, the pinch point at the head of the conveyor and the rails under the ride all posted significant risk too. There was ample evidence that a disaster like this would happen. Believes there was ample documentation of prior incidents that should have been picked up on. The modifications to the ride were made without a designer. Bob Tan and other Dreamworld Engineers were never tasked with completing a risk assessment on the ride. They also never provided any documentation to the regulator. Modifications made to the ride are seemingly random and don’t take into account other risks or hazards that could occur due to modifications. Maintenance was untaken regularly but was based on historical checklists and never updated. External Auditing that was completed by JAK engineering was not done to the Australian Standard. Previous incidents in 2014 and 2001 that were near identical, should have prompted changes to the ride. Problems with the ride were not identified as no risk assessments took place. 3. Matt Low began with a statement on behalf of his family. Including a statement from their kid. Thanked the coroners team. Kim Dorsett has provided a statement about her family. Cindy Low’s brother has made a statement. Disappointed with how Dreamworld has handled the incident and how the media and public have handled the incident. Lawyer for Shane Goodchild has made a statement on his behalf. Gave thanks to the coronial team. Lawyer for Low Family is providing a statement on behalf of The mother of Cindy Low Proceedings have begun
  4. I'll be at the findings as with the actual inquest. I'll be keeping track of things and live(ish) posting on here.
  5. To be fair, "everyone" was probably the wrong word, but the amount of people idiots that jumped on that was much higher than I would have thought. Sidewinder being re-themed to the boobs coaster: confirmed
  6. So was Eureka but look what happened when old mate Craig thought it was a still operational. Everyone instantly forgot how much of a pile of shit it was and got clouded by their golden years (I had it work it in somewhere). I agree it would be a bad idea to call it Thunderbolt but I can see where people are coming from. Just hold a contest so we can name it Rolley McCoasterFace already
  7. If you paint it the same colour as the sky, maybe no one will notice it
  8. Aren't all old Arrow loopers known to be rough as shit? In all honesty though, I'd take Sidewinder over Viper any day. Put Viper in the bin along with your shoulders and spine after riding it. The OTSRs being so rigid really don't help either.
  9. Incorrect, I drove a Ford once when my Holden was in the shop. Made me realise they are both equally shit
  10. I understand that not everyone will agree with me but I also understand that it takes more than 1 month to undo over 10 years of shitty management and no investments. I'll probably die on this hill and I don't even mind. Also, I for one, welcome our new chute overlords. It would be a hell of a lot better than Surfrider... My arguments have been that the reaction to this has been a bit over the top in some cases and that the new management team is doing what they can with what they have been given. I'd imagine it would also probably be hard to finalise a 10 year+ plan when you've got the results of an inquest looming, yet to be delivered at an unknown date. I feel like once that is past and there's less unknowns (now that we at least have the date for the findings) is when we will be able to tell how much they are actually looking to the future. If we see a lack of investment and future plan then we will definitely know that they don't know how to run a park, nor care about doing so and I will accept that. It'll be a bit of a kick in the teeth but I'd accept that I was wrong putting my faith in the new management team and park as a whole.
  11. Man, I do miss being able to have an opinion without it being wrong because not everyone agrees with it.
  12. Themeing and access meets having a ride station 20m off the ground. That's how you end up with a spiral ramp
  13. Okay, so here's my follow up questions. Can you quote where I mentioned that it was specific members on the forums? Or even where I mentioned that it was specifically anyone on the forums at all? I do believe my comments were
  14. I was more referring to the general response to the news today. New rides are coming, starting with a decent new coaster that begins work in the next month. Remove the last of the in-house, super old, hasn't been open in months, rides, without building 6 new things in it's place first? That's unacceptable! I can understand that people are disappointed but these are the same people that were screaming at DW to close every ride forever, after they killed people. They need to remove the old before they can bring in the new. Announcing it and removing it is a hell of a lot better than fencing it off for 5-10 years... or just continuing to run it. We can't have our 40 year old, barely maintained attractions and ride them too Edit: Also, although it wasn't specifically mentioned what type of attraction is coming, wasn't it mentioned that ABC would be getting an overhaul and new attraction? That's another potential family/younger age oriented attraction too
  15. But they aren't building any new rides!! *insert screeching*
  16. Did everyone forget that they announced a $30m coaster that is about to start construction?
  17. We can only hope. As much as I love Arkham, I'll be the first rolling up to throw a party
  18. Also when you're not employed, its easier to spend most days at the park
  19. Ah, so that's why they have social media channels you can contact now
  20. Honestly, I think the seriousness went out the window when the suggestion of a wheel in main street wasn't liked. It's all been pretty downhill from there. Much like the land levels from the front of the park.
