I remember reading online somewhere that Taft broadcasting had the opportunity of selling their stake in Australia's Wonderland to paramount parks who was at the time buying up all of the other parks owned by Taft but instead of selling to paramount they ended up selling their stake to the other investment partners involved with Australia's Wonderland who went on to sell it off to Sunway who in 2002 closed the park while paramount operated Taft's parks till 2006 when they sold the parks they bought from Taft to Cedar Fair who continues to operate all of the parks they acquired.

Jeez I didn't realise the state the studios were in. Man I really wish they looked after the place even if they were not able to find someone to rent it they could have had some type of behind the scenes studio tour attractions to draw in fans of the show or just some television fans in general.

Can you still do tours of the studios also why can't they hire it out when they have no trouble hiring out the studios at movieworld.

Hey I was curious if anyone knows what dreamworld studios and the big brother house are being used for currently and whether it is abandoned or if the big brother house was preserved in case channel 9 or channel 10 ever need to make an new series?

An Australian theme park community would unfortunately never get access like that on the Gold Coast.

The bare minimum they should do is get rid of this attrocity and start the map design over from scratch.

Its great to see the industry is really starting to recover.

You are forgetting inflation from the past 11 years and the fact that WWW does not have a hotel or include the cost of an amusement park 50 million is not possible everything they want.

$50 million to develop an entire amusementpark, hotel and waterpark is that even possible to do.

What would happen if dreamworld are found to be guilty.

I honestly don't think this will happen I was just trying to say this is what I would be doing I'm sorry that this was not made clear by me.

Dreamworld needs to convert that zombie scare maze/laser tag building into a dark ride to replace thunder river rapids and build some big thrill ride like a gigacoaster or something unique like the nations first 4d coaster something that can one up movie world all while finishing up repairs on all their currently closed rides.

I agree that movie world has better trill attractions than dreamworld but from a marketing standpoint they will be advertising to a no nothing member of the general public who will be thinking I could ride the new hypercoaster or I could ride 9 thrill rides at a park which has heavily discounted tickets.

What do all those controls do. I count 17 buttons, 3 key holes and 2 switches. Also what a bizarre topic.

It will reopen. They can't afford to lose the term big 9 thrill rides while that hypercoaster is open.

I just really liked the mountain theming of blue lagoon.

Main Street Train Station certainly has a lot more greenery then it does now. Also really wish the old waterpark was still around.

God that theming is great definitely a better themed attraction than most other flat rides on the gold coast.

Oh boy I can see the headlines now tourist gets lost in movie world for three days after getting confused trying to follow the park's new map.

Where did you find all those ads were they just already on youtube or did you find them on a video tape.

Found this great documentary from the travel channel from a decade ago on movie world and I must say it is a nice time capsule from 2002. Also here are some of their old commercials that are interesting.

Kids WB will never be complete until they reopen Marvin the Martian (Closed since 2010 no replacement) and replace driving school or as I like to call it Speedy Gonzalez if it were indoors.

Is it just me or does this feel like something straight out of the 90's era of computer animation.

Just trying to say I think we need to demand it becoming the best it possibly can be. I want movie world to have lots of different movie IP's not just DC and Looney Tunes. Plus I am still salty about harry potter going away to universal studios.
