  1. Atleast by the looks of it, Trident has been commissioned now and should be opening with the rest of the area when it reopens. As for Vortex, it’s surprisingly such major work is being done to it when it’s only just come out of its maintenance period 4 days ago, it seems like there’s been a reoccurring issue with the restraints since the ride opened, so maybe that’s being sorted out now.
  2. When the GP (same group of people i’ve heard call GC better then ST, Storm same ride as GL and post stories from Movie World tagging Dreamworld and vice versa) can tell an area and ride weren’t meant to be open, that’s an issue. I don’t think they thought through the opening for this area properly, i doubt we’ll see another Village ride open without a soft opening.
  3. Media has now caught onto the rides not operating, it looks like there was a lot more people coming to ride them right now then just less then 3 families. https://www.instagram.com/reel/Cl0e2_Bg2-A/?igshid=Nzg3NjI1NGI=
  4. if the public are being hammered by announcements saying “open now” “ride now” ect, they aren’t going to go “let me check if it’s open.” I didn’t say i need to know as i already know through this website and questions i’ve asked to people not on this website, the paying public need to know.
  5. post an update regarding the rides unexpected downtime saying that they are currently down to “enhance the guest experience.” They’ve posted updated such as Justice Leagues & Wild West’s sudden closure, Green Lanterns maintenance period, so they know how to do it and can easily do that. I’ve heard Leviathan is expected to be down for the next few days and reopen within the week, so an update should be posted as it’s not fair to heavily promote two rides as open as it’s misleading and false advertising. read each others minds.
  6. High winds is mostly their excuse to finish the commissioning process, it doesn’t make sense to tell people it’s closed due to high winds but then also testing the ride on the same day. only because peoples opinions were “wrong” if they didn’t fit with what other people on here believed, this is the only topic now where we can talk about the New Atlantis’s rides operating status.
  7. It still says Closed Due To High Winds on the website and the queue times website still shows all 3 rides as closed.
  8. I mean that is true, Vortex and Jet Rescue were down all day and the only ride with more operating time was Storm, which only closed for 20mins during the day as a guest swung on one of the queue line chains and needed medical attention.
  9. im pretty sure it’s connected to the software used for the parks app, Movie World has a page on their too and other parks that uses the same developer for their park app (like the cedar fair parks.)
  10. the website below is normally pretty accurate with what attractions are opened or not, when the park was open all 4 were listed as not operating (Virtual Queue always says open unless a rides closed for maintenance which is weird.) It makes sense when looking at yesterday, Leviathan was having issues all yesterday, Tridents finishing testing, Vortex was open for around 2hrs total and Jet Rescue got stuck on the final breaks 2x and was closed pretty much all day. https://queue-park.com/parks/village-roadshow/sea-world/
  11. from what i can gather, all 3 rides + jet rescue have been down all day. anyone there today to confirm or deny this?
  12. I will say the staff for Leviathan were very kind and nice, you know you have good staff when they can keep such a good and happy attitude in a stressful situation. The only complaint staff wise i had was with the staff member outside of Trident yesterday, he seemed just angry and like he didn’t want to be there, understandable but at least pretend like you want to be there.
  13. On another note, the entire New Atlantis area will be closed today.
  14. They ran the ride with staff for one day, which was also the first time higher ups had ridden the ride as all checks were done. As of the 10th of November the ride hadn’t been commissioned yet, which is a fact as i was told by a reliable source “cannot ride till all the checks are done which is not far away” when asking if this person had ridden the ride yet. This gives a 16 day gap between the 10th and the 26th (staff previews), which was 6 days prior to the rides grand opening. the only assumption made was that the theming was not finished, the exit walls didn’t seem permanent and as they also weren’t on the same level of theming as the rest of the ride, it made me think the walls are just temporary and the theming wasn’t finished off yet behind those walls. Let’s look at the definition of Commissioning. Bringing something (like a ride) into working condition is ensuring all checks, testing, and ride components are in place and completed, which is what i said. So, how’s my definition ridiculous, when it’s the actual definition? I know what i’m saying and how i’m saying it, don’t try and make me look dumb to benefit yourself.
  15. Being fully commissioned means all checks, testing, and ride components are in place and operating as intended, no one can ride until a ride is fully commissioned which is why people only started riding on the employee preview the same week as the ride opening. I did allude to this in a reply but didn’t know i needed to actually fully explain it. Dreamworld - had a soft opening to iron out the technical issues which arose with the Tailwhip seat, allowing them to open the ride with very little issues. Seaworld - Opened a ride with only one preview day and no time to iron out any kinks, resulting in them opening a ride with very bad teething issues. so when you look at it, it does appear that Seaworld weren’t prepared for circumstances they knew could happen. Soft Openings are done so they can fix issues, so saying Dreamworld didn’t handle the ride perfectly, even though they held a lot of staff and public previews to iron out issues that could arise to create smooth operations upon opening, doesn’t really make any sense at all. have you ridden the ride? the whole exit pathway is temporary walls, which don’t match the rest of the rides theming and you can tell that they aren’t meant to be staying there for long, people have been saying since opening day that it appears the theming isn’t finished.
  16. the rides are most likely already ordered and the other coaster is a clone as well, so i doubt it
  17. here is the link for footage for the ride testing. It’s weird seeing this one pop out of no where and install just before Movie World’s version of the ride, it looks like its a good, fun, fast paced family coaster, can’t wait to try it out
  18. I will say it didn’t make sense to have it be listed as closed for wind but then have the ride testing all day, even in high winds.
  19. exactly my point. Rivals was commissioned then had employee ride nights, previews and a couple leeway weeks of testing before opening, all while being advertised as opening soon. Same thing with Taipan, except only around two weeks of leeway testing but accompanied by a soft opening, all being advertised as opening soon. if ST’s opening went how this weekend and process has gone, they would’ve been torn apart as “unprepared, unprofessional and management needs help.” which did kind of happen even in a soft opening period, so i really want to know what’s different?. The theming around the ride isn’t finished, the ride and employees don’t seem like they were as prepared as they could’ve been to take on so many guests, and they never had a leeway period to conduct extra testing or testing while also leaving room for normal issues. no matter what anyone says, it’s clear they needed more time, some sort of technical rehearsals and a period to accompany this.
  20. I never rode Buzzsaw (not a full on enthusiast so the ride honestly scared the crap out of me just looking at it) but, how similar are these restraints to Buzzsaw’s? The restraint looking like it wasn’t fully closed was probably the most scared i’ve ever been on a ride, i can’t imagine how awful it would’ve been on Buzzsaw if it was the same scenario💀
  21. You don’t need to market it with an official date attatched, marketing could’ve stayed as ‘Rising Soon’ until commissioning, testing ect were all done.
  22. When a ride has also been opened for years the general public know a breakdown can happen here and there for every ride, not a brand new one, which when advertised as now open the public expect to be now open. The week of Staff previews was when the ride was fully commissioned and all checks had been completed, no one was allowed to ride until that day which means it was a couple days prior to opening. As it wasn’t commissioned yet when they had announced the opening date, they should’ve waited till it was done, announced the date, then done previews to sort out issues then opened. If a motor blows up or whatever happens be transparent, release a statement saying so, like they should to the families who have traveled and spent their money to come out and ride the ride that has been years in the making. You work towards an unannounced opening date, Taipan was fully commissioned and had staff previews prior to the opening date announcement, same with Rivals, Big Dipper and even Dingo Racer. Just because you have a date in mind doesn’t mean you announce it when you don’t know what’s going to happen.
  23. Leviathan wasn’t fully commissioned when they announced the opening date so they had no idea what issues could’ve happened. They should’ve waited for both rides to be fully commissioned, then decided and announced an opening date with either daily employee previews, soft openings or pass holder previews. No one’s saying it shouldn’t be having issues, it’s a new ride it’s expected HOWEVER a period of time to allow for daily operations with whoever should’ve been done. Comparing a brand new ride advertised as now opened after years of delays to a normal ride that’s been open for a while and having a technical issue in normal day to day operation doesn’t make sense.
  24. uh-huh, that’s why rides everywhere have soft openings. people on here were giving Dreamworld crap for having teething issues during their soft opening of Taipan which had no guarantee to open, so why’s it wrong that SeaWorld’s getting crap, mainly from the public, for a new rides unreliability after a 2+ year delay. they’ve opened the area, Trident isn’t even fully commissioned yet, Leviathan just passed and has had only 1 day of riders prior to opening, and by the looks of it the theming isn’t finished. Even a December 12th onwards opening would’ve been better, less rush on opening, more theming finished, and hopefully less technical issues when the ride officially opens with the help of a soft opening period.
  25. the restraints honestly scared the sh!t out of me, im around 90kg and 182cm and the restraint didn’t go all the way down to the seat and was at an angle (i was unaware this is normal for timberliners.) At first i didn’t feel very secure but turns out i was comfortably fit in the seat, i don’t see it being too much of an issue but if you think it might be definitely check out the test seat.
