  1. A new promotional video has been uploaded to Tik Tok for Fright Nights https://vt.tiktok.com/ZSRSGfvTP/ - if the link doesn't work, I can upload if needed. I have no idea by the first of the two new mazes, but the 2nd one is definitely something to do with the Conjuring Universe. The little girl looks almost identical to Annabelle with the final shot showing what looks like the main protagonist of the first movie, Bathsheba. Maybe instead of an Annabelle maze, it’s an entire Conjuring Universe type maze? This advertisement is definitely giving hope this will be a good year for Fright Nights.
  2. Originally it was 6-10 but now it’s 6-10 rides and 6-11 everything else. Im glad it is open later especially for the price, you’ll also find by like 10:30-11 the maze lines will start to die down which will be good to get all of them down, by 9:50 past years the lines are all empty (mostly atleast)
  3. Since the price is increased i think they’ll definitely have to deliver, 2019 was very underwhelming so let’s hope this years better with the price compensating for it
  4. I’m going to guess this is just sarcasm? If it’s not thought, i’m 99% sure those photos that were just posted were from a couple months ago as i’ve seen the barrier up from time to time, also if parents are around and attentive, it’s common sense to not let your kid climb something like that…
  5. I believe that was the original plan but where’d you hear they were planning it send it off to MW? I think Surfrider would be a good filler attraction to hold them off until the next “big” coaster, but i think the height restriction (140cm) is too high for what it is. I don’t see why it’s that high unless it’s to do with the restraints? Besides this, they need a big stand out coaster (Leviathan could be but we don’t know how it rides yet). I think a Launch Coaster or Raptor is what the park needs, they have a low to the ground “twisty” coaster (JR), kids coaster (SpongeBob), Water Coaster (Storm) and now an airtime filled coaster (Leviathan). adding SR would fill the “unique” gap by having the spinning aspect so by also adding a looping coaster they would be set.
  6. Assuming the train is the mini train photo opportunity they have opposite Sky Voyager, the spots the kid would’ve been doesn't look safe for a kid to be climbing over to begin with: the only two metre height part would be the areas covered in the white box, one side is a slanted ascent which a kid could very easily slip off of, and the other side is two small “platforms” where a kid could easily slip off due to the shaping and size. What I think actually happened is this (this scenario works with both trains incase im thinking of the wrong one): - The family visited the Night Markets, The kids saw the train and wanted to play on it so the parents told one of the older kids to be in charge of their siblings so they could go and get food. The kid obviously wouldn’t see the risk in it, therefor letting the kid climb to the top in which ended up resulting in him falling off. Once the parents returned, they became furious and decided to blame the park for having this out “for their kids to play with” instead of holding their own kid accountable for a mistake. aka blaming the park for their negligence. imo it would make sense as the dad so far hasn’t recalled what happened and just said he fell, if it was enough to sue wouldn’t you add in the events that lead up to the incident to justify your decision?
  7. It reminds me of when a woman fell from a garden bed when trying to see a better view of the parade then tried to sue Movie World for “negligence to its duty of care” back in 2016. Two of the dumbest lawsuits i’ve ever heard, it’s not that hard to not climb something that isn’t meant for climbing, and if you do that’s your own risk so if you sustain injuries it’s your own fault. smh
  8. time for another random law suit against dreamworld: I don’t have access to the Gold Coast Bulletin article however from what i’ve gathered (link below) the kid and his family were visiting the Moonlight Night Markets where the kids were “climbing all over the train” which on the time of the fall, Josh (the dad) claims had no signage or fencing round it and was poorly lit.“He slipped off the train, the surface was concrete and he broke his humerus bone straight through,” https://rajacreator.com/dad-sues-dreamworld-after-sons-fall-from-stationary-attraction/ imo, i think parents should just be more attentive to their kids instead of blaming places where their kids injure themselves. I mean if you think something is dangerous or unsafe wouldn’t you tell them to get down? especially when it’s something not designed to be a playground or to be climbed all over, but maybe that’s just me. If anyone has access to the GC Bulletin feel free to upload the full article below
  9. I couldn’t agree more, i’ve never understand the “Sea World is a family park, so they should only get family rides” type of arguments, you need to mix it up to bring in new crowds. An example of this is The New Atlantis, 1 of the 3 rides is strict thrill (Vortex), another one is family thrill (Leviathan) and the last is family (Trident). For the park to continue expanding in growth and attendance, they can’t just keep building family attractions (Nickelodeon Land, Followed by Jelly Fish Exhibit and The Reef) as they attract the same crowd the last new addition did. So when you mix it up with more thrill based attractions being added every now and then, new groups are attracted to the park. Hence why you see 2 new family friendly rides (Trident & Leviathan) as well as 2 new Thrill Fulfilling rides (Leviathan & Vortex.) Still agree Vortex isn’t the best fit for the park height requirement wise but does fill a tiny gap. Sure, they should be more “family based” then thrill based, but that doesent mean they shouldn’t add thrill rides. That’s like saying because Movie World is thrill based, they shouldn’t add family rides🤷‍♀️
  10. A Raptor in this location or next to Jet Rescue would fit perfectly, they don’t have a coaster that goes upside down. If I was running it (scary thought) I’d put a Raptor in Sea Viper area and reopen the bridge as well as a connecting pathway from the JR pathway and then 2 flat rides or a family ride in the space of VR.
  11. Out of both the Orphan & Annabelle movies, i do think Annabelle is more likely but if it came out it was Orphan, i wouldn't be shocked either. I will give Annabelle the upper edge though, purely because i feel the vibe of that little teaser does fit the movies and the character of Annabelle a little bit more.
  12. I don’t remember them saying that? they permanently closed it then we heard of some replacement talk in 2019 which we haven’t heard of again since the start of the pandemic.
  13. I feel like they were waiting until they knew what they were doing with the area, which makes sense as to why they waited so long to randomly start demolishing. If this is the case, i wonder what is coming and when… hopefully whatever it is the delay isn’t as long as the New Atlantis
  14. I went on Brisbane Ekka Holiday and the park seemed to be the busiest i’ve seen it in a while, with everything being 30-45mins with even GC’s line coming outside of the indoor section and down a bit of the outside spiral. They seem to be doing fine🤷‍♀️
  15. If MovieWorld swapped to an on and off season like the parks overseas or down in Melbourne, they would definitely get more hate compared to if a couple rides were closed. Also yeah they can figure out a way to get people from over seas in to help do the maintenance, but is it worth the hassle? You’d have to train them to make sure they are up to date with the Australia Safety Regulations and Legislation, replacement parts will still take 1 - 1 1/2months to ship if not longer, 3-4months closure would be the minimum while also not earning that much money either as WNW and i’m guessing SW would also be closed. I don’t think it’s worth it at all. It also doesn't get too cold down the coast either, which is why parks overseas actually close because it’s too cold for normal day-to-day operations, so what would their reasoning be to the public? Why change something if the replacement is worse then what’s currently in place. If i had to pick between new temporary rides being put in (ones that are presentable and not tacky - if they exist somewhere) vs closing down for months at a time, i’d definitely pick the temporary rides. But overall, i think the solution is reduction in ticket prices for when major rides are down
  16. i agree, the image definitely has Annabelle vibes, i mean even the dress flares, height, piggy tails, it all looks very familiar to each other; besides annabelle, i don’t really think there’s another IP that this could fit, so many an original maze?
  17. America is a different country with less strict safety laws and regulations.
  18. The only two spaces (that I'm aware of) they could’ve used would’ve been the show building next to DD - now occupied with the WB Studio Showcase and the old bumper cars building - now occupied by Fright Night Mazes. Apart from those i don’t think there’s any free space unless they manage to fit one into Superman’s ride envelop, but i’m not sure if that would work or not.
  19. In terms of temporary flats added into parks for ride closures, as long as they have a good capacity and look presentable i don’t see a problem with it. I also wouldn’t mine if they were added into seasonal events (best example is Dreamworld’s Spring County Fair) to soak up the crowds seen during these events. Imo Travelling Coasters (such as Olympia Looping) would work better then the flats but both aren’t bad options.
  20. Kondaa and Ride to Happiness also opened mid last year, but since covid (lockdown wise) has calmed down a bit, people may be heading over to check out all the new rides that have opened since 2020 as it’s less likely to be trapped there in a lockdown.
  21. honestly never though i’d see grown people arguing over children television shows. Just give the area its own theme which can be similar to Wild Wild Grove’s theme at Dollywood and not having to follow the boundaries of an IP, it allows more freedom and creativity. but about the IP’s, imo peppa pig would work the most along with lego.
  22. You should look at the dates of when posts are made. All of the old TOT track is gone, the letters (excluding the ‘tow’) have all been removed, theming has been removed off of the station, and station refreshment as well as tour repainting should be starting very soon.
  23. Don’t worry i know sonic i played it growing up😭 imo i think they should either stick with a refreshed ABC kids theme, or go with lego or sonic, i do hope whatever they do MC is incorporated into the theme as its always been a random off to the side type theme.
  24. Scooby is now also closed, i’ve also heard WWF still hasn’t been open but that could just be normal technical issues they’ve been having throughout the day. If WWF being closed is true, every single family attraction (excluding road runner, which caters more to kids) is closed. Doomsday is also slated to close for 2 days next week (which knowing Doomsday it will be extended,) I am glad it’s out of peak season though, hopefully this means all the rides that should be open in the September holidays are actually open.
  25. no one bashed them? just said aqualoop is an eyesore which if you go to the park, it is. imo it’s definitely one of the biggest cosmetic eyesores it looks awful, but you’re right there definitely is worse stuff.
