  1. anyone know why SurfRiders height restrictions are higher then the other installations around the world? other installations only have a height requirement of 48” (122cm) or 52” (132cm) compared to ours being 140cm? possibly that’s why they decided to install at wet n wild instead as that height restriction is a better fit for that park?
  2. the structure itself and the maintenance building are done, however the Queue, theming, landscaping have not even been started, the rides station i think it’s being worked on now, so yes the ride is half complete at best.
  3. crazy to think this may marks 3 years since the project was announced and only one ride has actually opened, 1 ride still isn’t even built yet and leviathan is half complete😧
  4. on the 29th of December Dreamworld was quite packed but it has calmed down a little, imo it could have something to do with how much more it offers then movie world? the carpark looks full but it’s divided between both parks and Dreamworlds size and amount of things to do is a lot larger then Movie Worlds especially when a couple of the rides are down. The main reason to this theory is as soon as it’s around lunch time all of the food outlets are packed and then the crowds slowly ease out / spread out again.
  5. i just said if it moved to a dry park (sea world) and not a water park (wet n wild) it would be open a lot more then it currently is?
  6. Surf Rider is a seasonal ride, they choose to close it for the periods it is closed for not because of maintenance, normally only half the time is used for the rides maintenance so if it did go to seaworld, like it was originally planned too, it would be open a lot more then it currently is
  7. the one dry ride they can operate during the winter they keep close until around October, so i’m sure the same thing would happen if Vortex was placed at wet n wild
  8. SurfRider opening at Sea World along side the rest of the New Atlantis would make so much more sense then keeping a roller coaster that’s always closed at a waterpark.
  9. i don’t know why the weight and age restrictions are on the website as the operators at the park don’t actually check your weight or age, so it should be fine to take your kid onto it
  10. looking at the standard SFC layout, they really only have 2 options if they wanted to throw in a proper inversion (possibly a third if they replace the final stretch with one) option 1 (green): they could make the ride go up into a roll (think of same shaping as pantheons first inversion) then drop off into the first helix or option 2 (yellow): after the first helix they could have the ride do a roll through the station building then turn out into the second helix personally, adding an inversion would be a great change as it would give children more confidence that they can go onto the bigger rides once they are tall enough and would add a fun feature for adults
  11. the turn after the drop kind of looks like it is a couple degrees off of becoming an inversion, so they could just steepen it a bit more and they have an inversion added into the layout
  12. With the Vekoma Family Racing Boomerang, i hope it is a custom layout cause this one looks kinda average, just doesn't look like it does much and it would be nice to see it be a custom design as the Suspended Coaster is supposedly a clone. with this layout i’d say it’s a probably a step above road runner but the second mildest coaster in the park.
  13. Based off of this review, the ride sounds like a pretty decent family coaster with some intense moments, with the most intense moment reaching up to +4G’s (the nearly inverting turn after the drop into tunnel). Imo sounds like the ride will definitely be a stepping stone coaster with it being bigger and more intense then Road Runner but not Scooby. The ride also has a very short height requirement of 100cm which will be great for families.
  14. don’t really like the idea of spoiling the full plans before the parks able to announce it, but would anyone happen to have the artist impressions? just want to see how true these rumours are tbh
  15. if the ride did use the old Queue and Station Building for Arkham then i mean at least it would give them space to add a transfer track and a second train to help with capacity, given the ride would have to be custom it could definitely be a longer layout meaning the problem of waiting longer on the break run then going through the course of the actual ride would be eliminated. Also, if the Suspended Coaster isn’t going to be a Thrill Coaster with no inversions, where is the next possible area for the parks next thrill coaster? Arkham was their looping coaster which means the next Thrill Coaster would definitely need to fill that gap
  16. i feel like they’re going to end up recycling the Arkham Courtyard and just using DC Villain Themes, Such as the Suspended Coaster queue line being in the same Queue Line As Arkham (imo this would be a great move as long as they refresh the inside a bit and add air conditioning, an indoor air conditioned queue for a family coaster is a great move as families are willing to wait longer in aircon) with a Joker Theme (sadly) and the vekoma boomerang most likely being Two Face Themed.
  17. well when you have 4 staff checking the restraints, trains leaving the station as the other one reaches the break run and 60 people being lined up to be loaded at one time, the lines are going to be significantly shorter. If they used Rivals Loading Procedure (slow dispatches, loading up the gates when the train arrives in station), the line would be over double the amount of time then it currently is. When it moved to one train the wait ended up being around 25mins which just proves the line only moves so fast due to their two train procedures
  18. the just always keep the spinning train on if it is only one train operations, this is easier as well as the spinning train needs to be parked in the station over night so the spinning seats can be charged
  19. ST moves onto a one train op once the crowds are getting quieter and most cycles are empty, not when the carpark is filled to the brim with 2-3 hour waits
  20. MDMC’s second train is currently in the storage area and pretty sure the original train got replaced as well as it looks bright and brand new Also, vintage cars is back to 5-6 cars instead of 3 and are utilising all 3 stop lights (2 in station before the load / unload area and 1 in the usual spot before the station) don’t know how long it has been like this but just thought i’d update
  21. aren’t the new generation Vekoma Suspended Family Coasters only able to run one train? the lines for this thing will be horrendous if that’s the case, hopefully they last minute changed their mind and decent to upsize the coaster, that’s very unlikely though
  22. wouldn’t be disappointing if it was 2 family coasters and then a Vekoma STC but if it really is their family suspended coaster they really missed an opportunity
  23. is it just the movies themselves cancelled or the whole staying open late thing too?
  24. two questions, 1) where did you get this information from? and 2) if this is the case, is it sort of similar to tripsdrill’s Vekoma STC and Family Boomerang?
