  1. Not sure whether this has been discussed already, but a lot of the train track between Main Street station and the TOT station building has been ripped up (image source: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=lpk0oAvh9JA&t=1034s). At first I thought it was surely just collateral damage from TOT demolition, but in the video it's suggested that the train will be rerouted directly along the former path of the TOT launch track with Main Street Station and the Level Crossing being moved essentially alongside MDMC. I know this is purely speculation and seems unlikely due to the pure amount of effort, but the removal of that additional track seems to support the theory. I think it would make sense considering Dreamworld's recent efforts to clean up parts of the park, plus it would fill that awkward space between ST and MDMC leaving plenty of room for new path space. Regardless, if true it'd be incredibly sad to see another part of Original Dreamworld History go if the original Main Street Station is no more.
  2. The tunnel has now been demolished pretty much up to the station building. Source: https://www.instagram.com/p/CQ4_HAgp7IB/?utm_medium=copy_link

  5. The helix, barrel roll and turn around into the brake run have been completed leaving just the brake run and reverse launch spike to be assembled before the track is fully done.
  6. I would argue that the dreamworks area as a whole isn’t exactly a dated IP? The movies referenced in the area are 20+ years old max, and still hold enough cultural significance today to remain relevant and provide nostalgia for any generation (And we’re still seeing lands based on Kung Fu Panda open at new parks like Universal Beijing). I was always under the impression that dreamworks was a substantial draw card for the park given that there are so many photos ops in the area that make up quite a majority of what I see on social media from people who visit. I think lego would be so boring in comparison, unless they were to theme it incredibly well and create a lot of interactive elements. I just don’t see them getting rid of dreamworks and I would be confused if it were the case. Uneducated guess, but surely it’s just cheaper to retain the license rather than retheme the whole area? But stranger things have happened, I guess.
  7. Temporary fencing has gone up around the entrance of the log ride Source: https://www.instagram.com/p/CO__LeMJSq0/?utm_medium=copy_link
  8. Judging by the images, I believe the tunnel will be the section of track before the loop with another smaller passthrough at the bottom of exit from the block brake. Dreamworld - Remembering the Golden Years have some more photos on their Facebook page here: https://www.facebook.com/dwgoldenyears/posts/1114239682386436 And a video of the trains here: https://fb.watch/5krYqzlnuK/
  9. Loop has been completed, credit to ozthrills on Instagram who is onsite taking footage today.

  11. Looks as though they've installed all the LSM track for the launch as well as the switch track. photo credit: https://www.instagram.com/p/CNeMiE_hGgs/
  12. Green Lantern was back open today but broke down once in the morning and also in the afternoon with riders on the lift hill. I believe it also e-stopped with riders on the first block brakes over the weekend which is why it was down briefly.
  13. https://www.instagram.com/p/CI2stVIL6JH/?igshid=9qdudgicsblg Came across this post on Instagram, caption suggests that crew are trained and ready to operate Vortex. Opening “very very soon”.
  14. According to the Sea Word website, Trident is still in the works and should be opening alongside Leviathan in June of next year.
  15. Ardent Leisure announced it themselves in a statement to the Australian Stock Exchange. They also announced that they will be receiving financial assistance under the Queensland Government’s COVID-19 Industry Support Package and Queensland Tourism Icons Program 2020. You can read here:
  16. Thanks for clearing that up, I get where you're coming from! If anyone is wanting to understand the ride/films link to racism I think @Pyro's post outlines it really well. I will say I agree about the choice of IP - I'm happy with the decision, but it definitely wasn't my first guess or choice for the re-theme.
  17. .. I was talking about the Twilight Zone Tower of Terror. Lol. I think it's clear that you have your stance and I'm not going to try and change your mind. I will say that calling the Black Lives Matter movement a 'trend' is awful considering the reason for its beginnings and if your argument is cancel culture, then I'm struggling to see what the problem here is because if we're cancelling anything in this instance it's racism? If you view that as a bad thing then I don't know what to say. Anyway, I'm tapping out of this one before it turns messy. I'm glad to see Princess Tiana get her dues and I welcome the re-theme as I hope others do.
