  1. I agree. Whitewater World isn't that themed. Sure, it's colourful, and it has a few little touches here and there which Wet N Wild doesn't (I.e. the Aussie Thongs and Cave of Waves) but it doesn't compare to some of these international water parks. http://www.parkz.com.au/photo/AE/Jumeirah_...-Wadi_Leap.html I love that theming. This is in Dubai, isn't it? Since I've seen this, I'll never look at a water park the same.
  2. I would prefer to avoid the whole spinning rides? There's three major ones of them already (Wipeout, well, upside down twisty stuff, Claw and Reef Diver). I have a feeling it'll just be the Vortex coming back just renamed. I don't see a tour sponsoring a whole major thrill ride, I just see them sponsoring a small resuscitated ride. What do you guys think?
  3. Im not getting my hopes up too much with a $7 million ride, but at least it's a start? Maybe the next two years will have more stuff (well is meant to). I know, it's crazy, right?! Like all down down down (and I saw a post where you said you sold your shares) and then boom, up. Strong results though (In my opinion)
  4. Edit. Removed. On another note, Ardent's share price has been going up and up since the announcements of the higher profits.
  5. I'm sorry I actually type properly with correct grammar and punctuation. And I would of taken another photo, but hey, I don't go alone (unlike some people) and sure my friend didn't wanna do another round of the train.
  6. Yer, they would be competing with themselves, but really, I think they'd do it so that WWW still has the full blown water rides, and this is more of a water-play-feature, where you don't get fully wet, like Cast Away Bay. And that's like saying Dreamworld can sue Sea World for the Jet Rescue or Wet N Wild for the Flow Rider. IMO.
  7. Not sure how long ago it was but they had all the pegs in the concrete, which are gone now, though. I know it was late last year (or early this year) when they had the pegs in the concrete.
  8. I wouldn't put it past Dreamworld to make one, but, I hope they don't, kind of. Because it's pretty much just taking something that another park is already offering, and in my eyes, cancels them out, unless one is better than the other. I'd rather see the money spent into something different. But can we really base all the speculation off of new concrete, some footers and a pirate ship mask?
  9. *Points at people's sudden urge to attack anyone who posts something the slightest out* That's why there's only a handful of posters. And any other possible thread on here, Im sure you can find people attacking others for their own opinion, such as what happened on the TOTII thread....
  10. I saw something today @ Dreamworld which I think could add a bit of ummm what's it called? Ugh, I just forgot what it's called. Suspicion? Rumors? I dunno, but, it'll be something to add to the burning fire for the (hopefully) non-thrill ride. I'll let you know tomorrow once I've done the write up for Zendorphin first. EDIT: Thought of word. 'Speculation'. All better now.
  11. Im *confident* about these two new rides, but at the same time not. I don't know why though. Im confident because previous rides, such as the Claw, cost $6 million, however, we have to account inflation, etc. Sooo, Im not confident. So I seriously dont know at all what to expect. If one's gonna be a major new thrill ride, I really don't know the options, unless it's something totally new. Yer, yer, there's LOADS of options out there, but seriously, for that amount of money? Or maybe, we could see a dark ride, but one for that cost I *DONT* think could even come half to being a thrill ride. Or, I'm not sure of the price of the new swing ride at Knotts and Kings? But Im sure it's cost quite a bit more than $6 or $7 million. Any ideas? EDIT: I think a woodie'd be good, but doesn't get 100% support from everyone, but I guess nothing will. Just saw the ASX thing again, and it said "Rides", if it said attractions, then I'd class the Skywalk in with that.
  12. Everyone knows Im always gonna be bias towards DW's side, but I'll still have a say. :-) I've been to DW quite a bit, so now it's just natural to walk up to the spot where I'm meant to go with a pass, but even for other people, how hard can it be? They need to know one way and one way only. It's not like they need to go into depth about it like ads did, it's more of a 'Employee tells them where to go' -> 'They go that path'. Not hard, is it? Why do they need to think about the other 3 options?? And having it set up this way means that people who have pre-paid tickets don't have to stand in line forever behind people with other tickets and eliminates that fact that it could be a guessing game. If people don't have the knowledge to follow a 50-metre-or-so path WHEN INSTRUCTED TO, then they're either too young to go there unsupervised or heavily intoxicated in some way. As for MW, when I went there, and had a prepaid ticket, it was a guessing game because there were no signs as to what line to go into. We hopped into a line, and ended up waiting 1 - 1.5 hours to get in. :\ Because they did the photos for some of the new passes at the booths and everyone in our line was buying tickets. We noticed the line next to us was going a bit faster, but was now longer. [/endsrant]
  13. Linus, you can NEVER have a win-win, someone is ALWAYS upset with whatever goes in. :\ If they add a big ride with inversions, some people won't like the inversions. If you add a lot of speed or height, some people might not like that. If they add a big ride, some people might of wanted a smaller ride (what a lot of people are complaining about at the moment is the lack of smaller rides), add a small ride, people like us get angry. Never ever a win for everyone. But I would like something faster than Superman. It still annoys me how... I dunno. Superman is a good ride. It just doesn't pack that big of a punch. Ya' know what I mean?
  14. What's a double bluff? And I think it'd be an Intamin too. I just can't see the likelihood of a B&M going in any time soon. They probably ordered a bulk package to try and cut costs over the next 3 years.
  15. Hahaha, Linus, the 'boundaries' being pushed are the ACTUAL boundaries of Dreamworld's land, in terms as they are expanding the park a bit more (at least this is what I think).
  16. Snooping too much, Jordan? Tut. Tut. Tut. Snooping never goes well. Well obviously we'll all probably see something soon? If they want to have something big for their birthday, construction must be beginning soon!
  17. I pretty much love the new cinema <3 Not many people knew about it, so it was quiet, and the seats are comfy, big screen. It was nice to just 'leave' Dreamworld and watch a new movie. :-)
  18. Cinema opens today and tickets are $15 for an adult, $12 for kid, $12 for pensioners and $12 for pass holders. Pretty reasonable for Real D movies?
  19. The Story line? There are several story lines, all relating around airplanes (obviously why there's turbines/jets). They all end up finishing off at people falling, face first. One's like a parachute not working after (I'm not sure, it was either a sky dive or a plane crashing), and there's a couple more. Just a little joke. Me and my friend always say the jet engine at the start fell off a Qantas plane. It was proved that this whole thing was based on Qantas when the Fire extinguisher was at the end of the emergency brake run, not at easy accessibility.
  20. Golly gosh... I thought the main part of the roof look ok (rather small though) but that corner is ugly. -.- And I think more is to go to the left of the roof too. If it was bigger, and that corner wasn't there, it'd be good.
  21. Hahahah, Yer, I just saw that they're no included in entry price. Sad'ness.
  22. The screen is 21 metres by 11 metres. They will show Skull Rock, and from the 6th of January, they'll also show TRON: Legacy and Megamind. With the latest session of TRON: Legacy being at 8:45pm. So we definitely know, there's extended hours! :| And it goes for 90 minutes, so that's until 10:15 Gonna be an awesome experience spending that much time at Dreamworld in a day! According to: http://www.dreamworld.com.au/Cinema/Session-Times/
  23. I had a look on Youtube for Skull Rock movie and I saw that it was also somewhere else. It is only 13 minutes long. o.O Does this sound right? But I saw a few videos. A few were the old school 3D, but I also so some of the new styled 3D (Alice In Wonderland, Avatar, etc.). Wonder which one Dreamworld will get??? It's apparently 4D, but yer. I'm disappointed to see the IMAX go... They just better make this cinema good!!
  24. The picture above (of DW's footers) is the one I took, and a mistake I noticed is the EXACT same thing as what MW did.... They put the footers right in the front of things!! ?! WHY!? In front of the tiger statue thing, in front of a pathway to the Croc Boats, In the middle of a path. They made the exact same mistake as Movie World, but I guess soon we wont notice it.
  25. Seems as if WnW's is a tiny bit wider (just from a quick guestimate) and that DW's is a tiny bit longer.
