  1. i don't think you can say midgets anymore. Have to say "small statured" haha
  2. And here’s me thinking you just spend your days visiting theme parks as our chief park correspondent. Next we’ll find out you’re not taking your own photos either!
  3. Someone’s fed @themagician some fake news I think haha
  4. Wont happen. This is the new normal for years to come. Get used to it.
  5. Because if you step on a snake you get bitten and die, so no one will walk on the path and the ride will never be ridden….
  6. Bizarre comment for mine. Storm is well themed, internally and externally compared to the standard we have in Australia
  7. Seaworld’s midweek trade was predominantly made up of the tourist buses. They are now gone. The balance were likely passholders who are not contributing to the gate, only f&b but are also more likely to bring food with them. it’s a sensible and understandable decision
  8. And whats better...they even offer half-day rates (i guess it's for when you get tired at lunch time and want a quick snooze.....) 😉😉
  9. If they have concerns now about meeting attendance goals to make a project like that viable (even discounting the impact of covid on travel) then i'm not sure how an Olympic Games that runs for 3 weeks will change that opinion. IMO, thats the type of decision that is made AFTER an Olympics if a trend of consistent and proven increases in international and domestic tourism post-games make the country a better proposition.
  10. Welcome back Skeet @New display name btw....it's been a long absence!
  11. The families, as far as I am aware, were against any sort of formal memorial.
  12. You’re not an idiot, it’s a turn of phrase and that’s precisely how I meant it. You know that, but your insatiable appetite to nitpick doesn’t allow you to just move on. As I said above, I’m not turning this discussion into a covid debate. I’ve said my piece, you’ve said yours. If someone else wants to chat it out with you they are welcome to, but I’m out.
  13. There is nothing secret about it - it’s already been announced, newspaper reports written and artistic impressions and plans have floated around. They have nothing to announce on that front other than a branding/chain partner but I wouldn’t be expecting that just yet
  14. It’s not being used to determine if we can have 54,000 at the football, so it should be used to determine if we can have 10,000 at fright nights. Given I said this should occur AFTER the country has enough vaccines to fully vaccinate anyone who wants it, we’re at least 6-9 months off that option being on the table. The best option for one country may not be the best for another - all I know if the option we are taking currently is not the right option.
  15. I don’t want covid discussions to take over topics, this is the one place amongst many forums I visit where either side of the covid/vaccine/response arguments haven’t taken over entirely from the regular conversations. my final comment on it all is that I think the govt needs to secure enough vaccines that everyone in the community who wants it can get easy access to it, the backlog is fulfilled, and then we open up the country, no more lockdowns, masks etc, and people then take accountability for their own health decisions, risks, chances of exposure. the UK has moved to that model, and it’s the only way the economy can start being repairing.
  16. Was a good show but that was a largely international troupe, would be a lot of difficulty and cost to get them back over but something similar could be possible
  17. I didn’t say that was the only reason, but why invest in costly and time consuming maintenance periods, constantly, when the ride itself isn’t well received or ridden?
  18. If the nsw govt had locked down the eastern suburbs 4-5 weeks ago Sydney and Melbourne wouldn’t be in lockdown today. But money talks and when the rich end of town fill the political coffers they are not treated like everyone else…
  19. The proposed hotel isn’t inside the theme park.
  20. Whilst this isn’t the place for political/medical discussions, being vaccinated does not stop you contracting or passing on covid. It (vaccination rates) shouldn’t be used as a yardstick for whether events go ahead or not. and sensationalism language like “super spreader event” are just cannon fodder for the MSM. it’s not more covid-risky that football matches, nightclubs or schools - all of which are open and operating for the most part currently or were up until 3 weeks ago in Qld.
  21. Was at the park today when news filtered through about BS closing (strangely didn’t get the pass holder email…) So I figured I better give her 1 last ride before stumps. I can see why it’s closing. Was 12:30pm and not a single person in the queue. The people on the ride were on their third run without even getting off. I still enjoy the speed out of the heart line roll, but it really is a one trick pony.
  22. Film Vault still remains the best maze i've ever been through imo.... Its just a shame they dont have the expanse of the studios to utilise anymore (bloody successful film industry...damn you!) I wouldn't be surprised to see IT 2 return given a lot of detail and props went into that, and it was planned as a 2 year gig had it not been for covid last year. Whilst Halloween would be timely given the upcoming movie release, its been done to death ... at least 4 years we've had it? The first iterations of Saw were strong, but rehashing that for Spiral which by all accounts was really poor seems superfluous. Doll Haus will likely return given the same 2 year pattern we usually see - i didnt get through this one in 2019 so cant comment on if it was any good. So IT and Doll Haus are the returning mazes 2 new mazes ? I really dont see any IP's worth investing heavily in - and i'd happily see them go generic/overarching theme.
