Nice to see a classic getting to live on a few more years and dreamworld hopefully gotten some decent money out of it.

I would definitely like the screens to be moved in the direction of the seating with something related to Australia on there like a documentary of certain parts featured in the attraction. I however don't think they'd go for it and just assume everyone will just sit on their phones will waiting anyways and see new screens and videos as not worth the investment it'd take.

So happy they have proper chairs there now. Everyone just sat there and on the luggage anyways due to the long wait times so happy they’ve addressed while still keeping to the airport theme if you imagine hard enough that they are seats at the waiting areas at gates.

Their life’s must be incredibly dull if they’re dragging their kids to one of the worst protests I’ve seen.

Predicting what’s going on with the Motocoaster plot is going to be really difficult with so many clues and the current movement on site pointing to many different possibilities as of now. Hope the announcement comes sooner rather then later so we can at least have a good idea of what their Motocoaster plans are going to be.

Work has begun to pick up on the site. Clips that kept the cables under the launch track in place have begun to be removed leaving the cables to hang down as if ready to be discarded. The other train that’s been in the maintenance bay since closing has been removed from the site. Work is concurrently taking place on the water tanks by the ride but it’s currently unknown if it’s for draining of them or perhaps general upkeep. (Photos from Adventures of Theme Park Girl)

It’s probably not getting retracked so soon but that ride gives me such a headache after getting off that I’ll keep praying for the day it does receivea proper retracking

Really hoping that any staff members who were in the area are alright and the fires haven’t caused any major damage to any facility.

Curious to see how long until demolition begins for Motocoaster. I suspect it might stay standing for a little bit since we don’t have a replacement announced which could mean it’ll be a little while until we get the replacement.

Most references to Motocoaster have now been removed from the website aside from the park maps.

Got my final rides on Motocoaster, pretty surreal to see it finally closing after so long but whatever comes to replace it will be better in every way. RIP Motocoaster, made sure to get my final on ride photo.

It is quite interesting that dreamworld is keeping Gold coaster around longer then Motocoaster considering how unpopular the ride currently is and how much older it is then Motocoaster but I won’t complain as I unironically love Gold Coaster and hope it stays for as long as it possibly can.

I’m sure a lot of regional parks and parks outside the country would be happy to pick up a unique family coaster that does draw lines and isn’t too old for most likely fairly cheap even with the rides maligned reputation, so I wouldn’t be shocked to see this popping up at some park as their 2027 addition.

I think if dreamworld don’t intend on bringing a new ride onto the Murrissippi River, a bigger dark ride could fit into the area of Motocoaster if dreamworld was to properly allocate budget to hiding the show building from every angle outside RT. This could be done by planting trees and plants around the building that can hide it from all sides or area appropriate facades placed on the sides and back such as 1900s architecture on the side facing Main Street or a train yard facade to complement the Dreamworld Express and facades that match either GD or whatever themed land comes in to replace RH in the next decade or so on the back side.

It’s going to be weird not having Motocoaster at Dreamworld anymore but it’s no loss now that a family coaster that’s better in every regard is just across from it. Gonna pop down on the Sunday for last rides on the Motocoaster to go see it off, R.I.P Motocoaster.

I totally forgot about the parade and Dora show, 15 years is an exceptionally long time for an IP at an Aussie park (barring MW). The Nickelodeon IP’s currently represented at sea world besides SpongeBob and maybe TMNT are now quite outdated. I wouldn’t be shocked if VRTP are currently reviewing their options on what to do with Nickelodeon and whatever replaces it becomes Sea Worlds new addition in a year or two considering Sea World are most likely next up for a big investment now that Wet ‘N’ Wild and Movie Word have gotten theirs.

I’m curious as to what this could mean for the rest of the Nickelodeon contract as it’s been over 10 years since the land first opened and the contract most likely doesn’t have long left before it expires or sea world looks at replacing the area itself with a new theme.

Wouldn’t mind seeing some props hanging near the track like what was once there with Aragog. Chuck another spider and maybe some ghosts as close as they can make it to the track and put a spotlight on them and it would help make the indoor section feel more spooky.

The Roxy theatres has a new film from today with “The day the earth blew up: A Looney Tunes 4-D experience” playing. Nice to see a looney tunes film back in the Roxy as I always thought they were the best ones and well suited for 4-D

Not opening your highly anticipated, family favourite, high capacity Scooby ride for the only after hours family event they have is one of the most bone headed decisions I’ve seen from the Australian theme park landscape in a while.

Took my first ride ever on SDSC today. I have no nostalgic attachment to any previous version of this and thought it was great. The dark ride section was great with every effect seemingly running including the axes and spinning man. I personally enjoyed the new pitch black nature of the main coaster section, I thought it added a new thrill to the ride and was enjoyable. The MXPX was playing quite loud when I rode but I’m not sure if it’s still quieter then it used to be or is back to the original sound levels and was just a technical glitch on the first few days. I’m glad movie world decided to keep this ride running for another 10-15 years with this update and think they have done a really good job with everything present, marginally better then their WOZ land anyways.

You’d most likely only see the ad every time the movie ends and resets back to the beginning so you’d see it a max of 3-4 times in line accounting for school holiday crowds. I don’t think it’s fair to call it a bombardment of ads for HBO Max, at least compared to whats seen on the screens in the station of DCR where it’s ads are present 95% of the time.
