  1. The London Resort is a proposed mega resort that is going to be in Kent, UK. This is a massive resort, spanning 465 hectares. Before I get into the details, you need to know some history. It was first announced in 2012 under the name Paramount London Entertainment Resort. As the name suggests, it was going have Paramount IP's in then resort, a bit like the old Kings Island. The first gate had a original opening date of 2019. The park then split with Paramount in June 2017, renaming themselves The London Resort. In 2019 however, the park obtained the rights to put Paramount IP's in the park. Things really started to gather momentum when, in 2020, The London Resort had a public consultation period. The proposal has just been put forward to the UK government for approval. The Plan When visitors first enter the park, they will walk into High Street, the Main Street U.S.A of the park. I'm not expecting any rides in this area, as it's the entrance. Expect shops, restaurants and arenas. Branching off, visitors can visit The Studio, described as a gritty, modern day warehouse studio. There will most likely be a backlot tour and maybe a stuntshow. Next up is The Woods, a enchanted realm with a focus around classic stories like Jack and the Beanstalk and other classics. The next land is the Kingdom, a medieval themed land with dragons and knights. It also has a wooden coaster in it. Then there's the Isles, which will be a land of mythical beasts. Then there's the Jungle, based around the ruins of a lost civlization. Finally, there's Starport, a sci - fi themed area. `
  2. In case you missed it, the company behind the London Resort has just submitted plans to the UK government to get approval to start construction on the new mega park in Kent. This park looks amazing, a mix between Six Flags style rides and Disney level theming.
  3. There's no doubt in my mind that theme parks all over the world have been hit hard by COVID - 19. However, if you take a step back and look at Australian theme parks, some major announcements have been made for our parks. Big Dipper, Actventure and the Big Banana expansion have all been announced.
  4. My thoughts: Arkham was going to go sooner or later. It opened over 20 years ago and was unreliable. I think when DCR was built, that severely lessened it's appeal. For the GP, they would rather go on something that is big, tall and fast then a 20 something year old coaster. People are going to be drawn to a landmark that stands out like DCR or SE as oppose to AA which was tucked away in a corner. In hindsight, when they added VR, it seems that it was a desperate attempt to keep the ride going for a bit longer. As for the replacement, I would really like them to build a Mad Max coaster. I would of personally liked VRTP to of saved the wood coaster for MW because it would fit the theme of Mad Max.
  5. Wow, so after saying a couple of weeks back that AA was staying, MW just says on a DM it getting retired.
  6. This is news from a while back but I thought I would make a forum on it. Carnival Cruises is debuting Bolt, a single rail launch coaster on Carnival Mardi Gras. It is manufactured by Maurer rides. It is set to debut next year if Covid gets under control.
  7. Just submitted a rename to the ride on the Parkz database.
  8. Sorry to dig up a old forum but what you just described there is Wonderland.
  9. Here's a thought: What if Sunway brought Wonderland and invested in new rides and attractions? What would it look like today? We know Sunway is capable of managing a theme park. Just look at Sunway Lagoon in Malaysia.
  10. I find it weird that before the new marketing material for Lethivan came out, Sea Worlds website listed it as max thrill but now it's been downgraded to a family coaster and moderate thrill.
  11. Possibly. This is a very good step in the right direction. LPS has never been a boring park but it didn't have that headlining attraction. Depends if they keep expanding. By the way, even tough LPS has more coasters, Wonderland had, in my opinon, more thrilling coasters. Either way, this is grea for any Australian coaster fan as we can now ride a single rail coaster.
  12. Guy's, as I said, the staff at the parks and guest services is amazing. The Road Runner incident was a one off and I have found the staff at Village's and Adernt's theme parks amazing. I want to stress that. I've been to the parks and what this forum was meant to be about accessiblity more then anything. I once again am greatful to the op's. The main thing I wanted to raise was waterparks. I feel like waterslides are difficult to get onto. Once again, the staff at waterparks are great at fixing problems. I think a easy fix would be to make the loading bit wider. That way it wouldn't be as arkward to get on slides.
  13. OMG! Where do I begin. Since Wonderland closed, Sydney hasn't had a major coaster. I can't believe a park in Sydney is bringing the first Single Rail coaster to Australia. 2021 will be the best year for theme parks in Australia. This announcement secures a booming post - Covid tourism market for NSW. Ranger going was sad but this weighs out all of this. Lets look at these rides: 6 new kids rides: from the image it looks like a a family boomerang and a loop layout coaster A massive pendulem ride The holy grail, a new single rail coaster which is named the big dipper ( again )
  14. So, that forum died. I'm guessing they will announce the re - theme in December to get park attendance up. Honestly, I like the new theme of the ride. Yeah it's tacky but someone was going to name a coaster The Gold Coaster.
