No they were from the nearest weather station - and from ground level. Winds 200ft up can be substantially higher

I reckon Adelaide is more likely - if it did happen here it would need huge state and federal funding.. Sydney/Brisbane don't need Disneyland.. but Adelaide/SA does. I still think the chances of it happening are incredibly low though.

New details from 9- A 26-year-old woman is fighting for life after she was hit by a roller coaster at the Melbourne Royal Show and carried nine metres into the air before falling back to the ground. It is believed the woman was retrieving her phone from the tracks of the Rebel Coaster ride when she was hit by the roller coaster about 5.45pm yesterday, after having dropped the phone when she was on the ride. After the roller coaster struck the woman, it carried her nine metres up into the air before she fell back to the ground.

If you're talking about West Coast Racers before the second launch - even though its a straight bit of track - they don't actually change the wheels when the dude says they are.. it's just a video.

Would they run the train for the rest of the circuit to recover it if this was the case? I'm gonna guess you can't replace wheels while the train is sitting in the middle of the course.

Can someone come up with why it would have got stuck if it wasn't because of high wind? They never released any statements about it.. when they released a statement about the reason a different ride got stuck on the same day.

It’s not the first roller coaster to valley because of high winds - and certainly won’t be the last.

Winds - especially gusts - change with time.

I never said that - I'm saying if they decided to cycle the ride when it was too windy they should have chucked some dummies on.. it probably would have made it around with more mass (which is more speed).

I think we can all agree now that it was way too windy for the ride to be dispatched.. especially empty.

I do believe there was a roller coaster down the road that required a minimum amount of people in the train to dispatch …

Citation needed. From my only memory of being in the park across the last three years and scooby being opened … once … they looked like pretty bog standard tv’s to me. Kogan’s 42” TVs are just over six kegs.

I work in broadcast/live events. TVs are pretty good now. Even the smart ones. In the studio I work in we have a few off the shelf TVs for monitoring over networks and stuff. 4 LGs have been on - 24/7 for 4 years now with no issues. One OLED monitor that’s worth $16k gave up just before it’s 3rd year. Regardless - they can probably buy a new tv every hour that they don’t need to pay for staff to operate rivals rn
