I arrived there at 2.30, I must have just missed it before it closed I love both elements so agree both rides have their strengths

Popped into MW yesterday, park was probably one of the quieter days I have seen probably due to weather and Brisbane river fire. I was disappointed with the amount of rides down but tbh this is just becoming expected at this point. Wwf, superman, lantern and JL all down. I was also frustrated on Scooby, with half the effects not working, and is it just me or is Scooby really running its age lately? Hopefully WOO will breathe new life into the park, perhaps I have just visited it too much but I feel MW is losing its magic a little. On positive notes the park looked pretty good, and the Batman showcase is really amazing, would love to see MW do more showcases like this.

I rode Rivals same day, superman was shut but I think there were probably a few factors that might have affected the rides intensity. it was very quiet at DW yesterday, almost all my runs on ST were 1/4 full, im not sure how much that affects the ride but it might have an impact. On my first ride I thought ST was up there with Rivals but then upon riding Rivals that afternoon it absolutely is the superior ride in every way imo. As for Superman, it was closed so I didn't get to do a day comparison but I do think they are on par with each other. Taipan launch is no where near as forceful as supes, but Taipan is a lot longer and that has always been my main complaint about Superman.

Im not saying The Claw is a bad ride I guess Aussie World is my home park and I ride Sx360 often so going to dreamworld the claw just feels like it has a lot less impact on me than it once did. Personally Tailspin is my favourite flat at Dreamworld. As for Doomsday, yes, the Claw is definitely better than Doomsday, talk about a redundant ride. Maybe calling The Claw redundant was a little OTT, its still a good ride I just feel Dreamworld can do better for a top 3 thrill ride.

I think you just hit the nail on the head. Tail-whip just didn't feel like the right fit with the taipan layout for me. I enjoyed riding taipan the standard way a lot more tbh. time traveler looks so damn good! Would love to go to Silver Dollar City one day

Went to DW today and in terms of future attractions this is how I see the priorities. Thrill Rides: Needs something airtime focused, a woodie or Rmc hybrid would be my picks. Wouldn’t say no to a hyper but Rivals is a tough competitor. Would not lose sleep if they removed Gold Coaster tbh, its had its time and its too rough to enjoy now days imo. Family Rides: Sky Voyager is amazing, the park needs more immersive family experiences like this and I think its an area DW can really shine. A story telling dark ride or flume would be my pics. Kids rides: I actually like the kids lineup. Something bluey themed, even if it was a flat would be great. Overall I think DW has a lot of potential, the park looks pretty good, just needs one or two more big drawcards that arent spinny flippy flat rides.

Finally got to DW to ride ST. No lines so lapped it enough times to try every row including tailwhip. The backwards launch with the tail spike makes the ride, especially in the back carriages. other notable moments was a nice little pop of airtime off the midbrake run and zero G roll. I was impressed with how smooth the ride was overall. tailwhip was ok, but its a one and done kind of attraction at $25 the experience is not much more imo. Overall a good coaster, its not quite as good as Dc Rivals and the launch is no where bear as good as Supermans but overall its a solid top 3 on gold coast.

Agree, motocoaster is awful. But it still looks intimidating to non thrill seekers and the restraints are not very family friendly. As for Gold Coaster, its old and boring compared to ST but its still very far from a family coaster and cant really be enjoyed by little kids. Bottom line is, imo, Dreamworld can do a lot better in the family coaster department

I respectfully disagree, boating school blast doesn’t really count because its just a kids coaster, but roadrunner is lightyears better than EFMG in my opinion, especially since the trains got upgraded. Sure roadrunner is a little boring, but EFMG Layout aint much better, and its rough as guts with horrible restraints. Add to that its the only full circuit coaster at DW that can be enjoyed by families, they can do a lot better in the family coaster department GP love Wild Mouse, they pack a lot of fun in a small layout and can be enjoyed by a large percentage of park goers. Lets also not forget that one of the most popular rides at MW is actually a wild mouse so when done right they are great rides.

I feel Dreamworld really needs a quality family full circuit coaster. Lets be real, EFMG is one of the worst coasters in the country, and MDMC is popular but its still selective due to the type of restraints. I think a spinner, wild mouse, or a family woodie would all be great, and relatively inexpensive additions to Dreamworld. Or what about a new mine train ride? Eureka 2.0 👀

I want to clarify my comments regarding a Giga were completely tongue and cheek. As I have already stipulated as well, I dont think anyone here thinks that the next investment should be a big coaster. As coaster enthusiasts its fun to discuss the possibilities of what the next coaster might be because lets be honest we all want to see more high level coasters in Australia. 99 percent of people here agree that a big coaster is not the best move for the next major attraction, and I dont think anyone here is expecting one of these big annoucements to be a coaster.

Viking’s Revenge Flume Ride Removal

I am very well aware they are not affiliated with the US Seaworld parks, but its a small nich in the marine park/theme park world and they do tend to follow the same model and trends as the american parks. As far as the general public is concerned they tarnish SW Gold coast with the same brush as SW when it comes to the controversy around large marine animals. The shift away from marine life has already begun when was the last time you saw a marketing campaign from SW that focused on the animals? You might see one or two small exhibits and improvements to current exhibits but imo I dont see SW bringing in any new animals any time soon. -
I dont think that DC rivals should be a deterrent of having a hyper-coaster at DW. Dc Rivals has a fairly unconventional layout for a hyper, if DW made a B&M hyper thats a lift hill machine with a traditional first drop it would be a very good fit for the park. But it also doesn’t make sense to dethrone ST as the flagship just yet after the money they sunk into it, any new thrill attractions will be complimenting to ST, at least for half a decade or so. Another thought could be to do major remodelling on motocoaster with a track extension and a second, maybe even third launch. We have seen how good Intamin can make these types of rides.…. Or just demolish the damn thing and build a hagrids motobike adventure clone… 😂

Viking’s Revenge Flume Ride Removal

Hmmm, thats a thought. One thing to consider is the big sister SW parks have been slowly moving away from marine life being the main focus of the park in their marketing with the controversy that comes with the stigma around large ocean animals in captivity and they have become a lot more ride focused in recent years. In saying that, id love some to see some more just aquarium type exhibits. Maybe a walk through aquarium through the castle could be a go with several smaller tanks. Showcasing some deadly marine life like box jelly's and blue ring octopus would be a good selling point too. I agree there is a lot of marine life not on display, particularly marine life unique to Australia. I would also love to see more interactive educational displays an exhibits around the park too. -
Viking’s Revenge Flume Ride Removal

Big fat no from me to moving Surfrider to SW, its a waste of money and does nothing to enhance SW. Besides that its a maintenance headache, I reckon sell it off to another park and use the money towards better and newer attractions. I tend to agree that a big new coaster isnt exactly in SW best interest either, the skyline we have right now looks good and anything more intimidating is just going to kinda dwarf that skyline and nulify Leviathans presence, which is really the parks flagship going forward. Besides as others said SW is not really a ‘big thrill ride’ type park. I’m not saying thrill rides don’t belong here, but it makes more sense to save the big coasters for MW. So that begs the question where is the gap to fill? For me its a quality immersive family experience. A dark ride that is a bit of an ocean exploration would be very cool. A ride with indoor and outdoor underwater elements would be incredible, like Nemo’s Voyage at Disneyland. -
Oooh I love me a podcast will check it out!

The thought of an RMC woodie in Australia gives me a woodie Snap back to reality I dont think any of the new attractions will be a big coaster, as much as I would love to see another one built. The most likely coaster route will be a family coaster but I think its unlikely. Quality new kids rides, maybe a flume ride, or a new animal exhibit are my guesses. Thrill seekers will be lucky to get a new flat ride
