  1. Even Sydney Zoo, the place she’s actually attended while in Aus this time around, hasn’t shoehorned her into a post yet (not saying they won’t, it’d be unlikely for them not to at some point in the future, just that they’re not jumping on it immediately like MW has). They’re desperate to get the positive PR that Dreamworld’s got with their giveaways/discounts, and used her as a reason to do so/to promote it.
  2. True, it’s more than likely that it is official concept art, just a very early iteration of it. Like, for example, the art they did for Rivertown is the first art that was released, the one with a nonsensical ride layout that went over the water (in the version they posted, it wasn’t even called Rivertown, the entrance sign was different & read ‘Riverside’ instead). In that case, Dreamworld seems to have commissioned them to do the art, but not for it to be an exact replica of what’s to be constructed, just to get the vibe down & have references for what it could look like.
  3. More concept art has been posted. Unsure how legit it is, but the poster seems to have done stuff for Village (Float mockups), DW (the Rivertown art, and maybe some DWF stuff), Taronga (Reptile & Amphibian Conservation Centre concept art), & others. (Source) Edit: Definitely recommend checking out the page above, upon closer look they seem to have a lot of concept art for old AUS park/zoo plans. If they’re legit, there’s some good stuff there.
  4. If the ride building is as prominent in the area’s design in the concept art has it seeming, I’d hope that it’s at least partially indoors. And, based on the outline contained in the overhead view that was on related signs for a while, that does seem like it’ll be the case.
  5. Yeah, I somehow thought it was known that was it’s colour scheme (ig from the testing & concept art), hence: There’s so many coincidental/unintentional parallels going on with the parks recently (or at least, ones that I’m making up). Don’t hate if it does end up having that colour scheme, same reason I don’t hate the SFC having its’ colour scheme. Both could definitely have chosen colours that fit their themes a bit better, but ig “If it ain’t broke, copy it down to the family coaster”.
  6. Yeah, that’s the one I was thinking of. Couldn’t find it, but it was being pushed a lot ‘round DF’s open
  7. I’ll see if I can find it, but I believe they’ve already used it in ads I’ve seen on YouTube.
  8. Did miss that, sorry. The emoji showed up real weird on my end, though.
  9. Yep, but this isn’t the time nor place to make this a debate on religion. Anyway, If the guy is ‘reformed’, then so be it, but the case remains that they’re choosing to associate with someone who has voiced opinions such as those in the past, and will therefore (justly) be questioned if similar sentiments reoccur under their own organisation. And, if it truly is the case that it was only a few select individuals within the organisation who had those sentiments, then the event ‘at least’ shouldn’t be held with those individuals, or any individuals justifying them, in attendance. My comment about how the event shouldn’t be held again was made well before their statement claiming it was a small percentage of the group that behaved inappropriately. Meaning monetary & covering costs for healthcare as a result of the events. It’s ’at least’ because law states it’s meant to be a given, meaning it definitely should happen ’at least’.
  10. They mean recent images directly from Google, and for the general population. Yes, we can see more updated aerial stills thanks to you supplying paid photos from Nearmap, but the main, accessible, interactive, and publicly available aerial map that’s used by 99.99% of people didn’t even have DCR.
  11. While I agree there’d likely be less people mad at it in general (Australians being Australians), religion isn’t the issue. It’s solely the way those members behave/d, and the values that the organisation either currently promote, or have promoted in the past. Whether or not there were events held without reported issues in the past, and whether or not ‘appropriate attire’ was supplied, there should still be at least compensation to workers affected & further action taken, both by the park & the organisation. Excuses do nothing but excuse the behaviour.
  12. If they learned anything from Levi, the preshow would either be entirely separate room from the station, or take place at & during the walk into said station. Screens, audio, and other station effects can be utilised well enough when solely used for themed safety info before/during boarding, and a short sequence while dispatching. Anything else and it either messes with any sense of continuity & makes the effort put into it rather useless on most cycles (as they’d be being cut short), or slows operations. Leviathan has similar to what you’re describing as what you hope it has, is the thing. It’s got a short pre-boarding sequence where Levi says you don’t belong there before swimming away, then nothing happens ‘til you begin boarding. The issue with it (currently) is that they’re putting multiple groups in the station at a time, they’re making ride ops scream the spiel after last groups’ unload & before current group boards, and they’re only running the one train on most occasions, so it ends up being: “New group enters > [Short entrance sequence]> Wait behind 1st group ‘til train arrives > Unload > Safety spiel (ride op) > Previous group’s boarding begins/[Themed safety spiel] > Current group moves a step forward > [Boarding sequence]/restraint checks > Dispatch > Train engages with lift hill > Repeat” twice before you get to board yourself, each round taking at least 3 minutes (realistically, more like 5). If they were running 2 trains, the ride movie as-is would be rather bearable, as the pre-boarding movie takes about the same time that a boarding group takes between entering the station & being lined up in their respective rows for boarding to begin. The way to speed operations up would be to remove the ride op spiel (& have the themed one be both more substantial/disconnected from the station wait, like Sky Voyagers’ is), and having both trains on the circuit more often. Not advancing a group into the station early wouldn’t necessarily help dispatch times too much, but it would help with confusion of those in the 2nd row attempting to advance to the train when those if front do, as well as alleviate the repetitiveness of the ride movie that loops multiple times before boarding, which I’d imagine may lessen the experience of a first-time rider.
  13. “Set to open later this year” is in the video, they still seem confident they can meet that date.
  14. Alongside the concept art, a video was released with some construction footage & a rough 3D model of the site, as well as confirming the coaster’s names as ‘Kansas Twister’ and ‘Flight of the Wicked Witch’ from the trademarks. 15. Just a second faster, lol. Pico Play is tagged in these posts, confirming their simultaneous involvement in both this and Rivertown. Kinda interesting how both DW & MW have ended up with new themed areas based on 1 family-thrill Vekoma that’s the same colour scheme as their last major thrill coaster (of which, both were Mack, both with gimmick seats) & 1 smaller-scale supporting ride, with Pico Play collaborating in design & manufacturing of thematic elements, both set to open around the same time during holidays this year.
  16. Oh, we don’t need that here, ‘cause we just don’t do that.
  17. That’s nice and all, but there’s something else much closer to Superman that they should be prioritising (for the time being) over ripping up an unused pathway. Progress is progress, though, I guess.
  18. Going next week, can’t believe I’m excited to see a pathway. And it’s not even completely done, there’s still temporary construction barriers blocking off the castle.
  19. The mention of animatronics, & a story w/ characters & animals (‘creatures’), has me very optimistic. Really hope that it delivers.
  20. Maybe, just maybe, a men-only event isn’t a great idea? Seems pretty obvious to me that that’d lead to a big increase in workplace harassment. Free counselling is step one, but the workers affected should at least get a hefty settlement from Jamberoo &/or ASWJ, and know that the event will by no means be held again, as well as stricter rules against similar behaviour in general (banned from the park should be the minimum). Oh, especially so when the organisation running it openly spouts [word I hesitate to say here] rhetoric like this. That isn’t even a ‘warning sign’, that’s a bright red warning barrier made of solid concrete.
  21. That doesn’t say it’s not coming back, only that the trains reached their end of life, and they’re uncertain about what to do with it. That much has been known pretty much since it closed, or at least definitely since they scrapped all but one train & left it to rust. Have I been misinterpreting, or when people say ‘coming back’, do they mean ‘refurbished w/ new trains’?
  22. “We’re millionaires who got lucky once, but we also are really smart and make great decisions, except for when we don’t ’cause we have flaws as we’re human just like you. [River Rapids mention]. New company bought most of us, but we’re friends & it’s okay (apart from our cinemas, those suck lol. Also, if we don’t make money in the next 3-5 years, we’re kinda screwed. But that’s fiiiiiiiiine, cause we’re friends!). Anyway, $50m Ghost of New Atlantis Past, $100m Ghost of WoO Present, $??? Ghost of Hotels Future. Also, I have children, as a byproduct of being human, just like you.” Snippet about hotels:
  23. The fact it says ‘rooms and surrounds’ doesn’t seem to me like they’ll be connected accomodation, as well as there not really being much need/space for another VRTP example of that post-MW’s hotel. Maybe, instead, there’s a plan for something similar to a Paradise Resort, various Disney hotels, things like that, in which it’s a family-oriented hotel/resort, centred around an IP that VRTP has the rights to (Nickelodeon, DC, etc), that’s got enough self-contained activities for park visits to not be a necessity (but, ofc, offering shuttles to & fro). They have experience with similar, though less self-contained, locations with Sea World Resort. Though, granted, they didn’t construct it, experience with it’s operations could mean they have ideas as to how it could be improved if they were to construct one themselves. As to if anything comes from it, we’ll have to wait and see, but I’m guessing that’s moreso what’s being eluded towards.
