  1. Levi’s train, or Timberliners in general, do have literal zero cars under normal operation. I believe/assume they’re meaning to ask if the zero car was in use & just unlit, or not in use at all.
  2. Weird, RCDB must be bugging out or something 'cause it usually displays all relocations of the same ride under that ride, but for some reason it distinguishes the wooden wild mouse as multiple separate coasters, one as defunct which operated from 1959 to 1970, one that operated at 'Fox Studios Park' 'til 1995, and one as operating from 1995 onwards. And then it also distinguishes Big Dipper & Cyclone as 2 separate coasters, too. Will have to keep that in mind in the future.
  3. 1. Scenic Railway @ Luna Park Melbourne (Scenic Railway, 1912) 2. Sapphire Speed Coaster @ Merimbula's Magic Mountain (Pinfari Zyklon, 1994) 3. Wild Mouse @ Luna Park Sydney (Hopkins & Pearce Wooden Wild Mouse, 1995) 4. Road Runner Roller Coaster @ Movie World (Vekoma Junior Coaster, 2000) 5. Big Dipper/Cyclone/Hot Wheels Sidewinder/Gold Coaster @ Luna Park Sydney/Dreamworld (Arrow Looper, 2001)
  4. Using the image that @DaptoFunlandGuy posted of the construction site, it should somewhat be oriented like this even more scuffed edit attempts to show, slightly turned counterclockwise from the angle in the photo. As such, it'll almost kinda be turned to face Batwing Spaceshot, which might look a bit weird if they're both painted completely black. That said, maybe a dark blue or purple (not pink like DCR, I mean like a midnight purple) could work, Purple would work for a Bizarro theme, and Blue might work for a Darkseid one (had to google that guy, but I think he's in the Justice League movies so he could be recognizable enough). If they do choose to make it completely black, though, they could theme it to an equally-critically panned movie as Green Lantern was, Black Adam.
  5. I'd definitely go for TNT/an Orkanen clone. Looks like the substantially better layout, and EFM/KFF's also been said to be running super rattly as of recent.
  6. I know that these are all minor nitpicks, and my opinion does not matter to Dreamworld, 'nor anyone working on the rethemed area. However, this is a forum for people that are way too invested in amusement parks to express opinions & thoughts on amusement parks, so: My issue with 'Serpent Slayer' lies with the entire ride's thematic choice, honestly I kinda like the look of the Roman (or, Atlantean) inscribed golden chariots. But that's just it, the entire theme of that ride (and only that ride) is Atlantean. There's the obvious blends of turquoise & gold, there's trident logos emblazoned on all the chariots & surrounding the base of the centrepiece, which in of itself is seemingly going to just be a Leviathan that's a darker shade of blue. In my opinion, it'd have been a much nicer choice, and one more fitting with the rest of the area, if they dove more into the actual animal kingdom rather than mythology. Example being, do a minor remodel on the centrepiece (removing the dragon-like head & scales), repaint it to be akin to a Yellow-Lipped Sea Krait, and give it the generic reef theme that most of this Ocean Parade expansion has. Just a couple different decals, maybe some modelled reef pieces here or there that blend into the ones at 'Seabed Splash', you could even keep the same chariot design so long as they became more dishevelled & overgrown with seaweed. An equally-nothing name like 'Reef Rumble' or something, and you're done.
  7. If only it was at Phase 4, then Surfrider could've actually gone to SW lol
  8. It might be that my definition is too simple, but IMO (and likely the thinking behind why it's being called a turntable in the first place) is that a 'switch track' is a whole section of track that moves linearly in one direction to be completely out of sync with the previous path, setting up another entirely unique section of track for that path, all while the coaster train is not locked onto either of the track pieces (i.e. 'switch track', it switches the track piece, examples being most coaster's paths to maintenance/storage, or ST's launch). Whereas a 'turntable' functions more like a 'transfer track/table', where it's function is to set the same section of track up to an entirely unique path whilst the train is locked onto it, and does so via pivoting instead of the linear movement of a transfer track/table (see the Gerstlauer example above for a 'turntable', and Blue Fire clones' maintenance/storage bays or Star Trek: Operation Enterprise's pre-launch sequence for 'transfer track/table' examples).
  9. world's most iconic inverted wild mouse coaster, ride now for $99pp
  10. All you’d be seeing is it’s supports/the backside of the ride (in the only orientation where supports & track don’t collide with Surfrider itself), so it wouldn’t really look that cool onride, and it’d ruin views of Superman from everywhere else
  11. Using a little bit of Google Maps 'measure distance' & crude editing, so it's far from irrefutable proof/evidence, but the actual ride envelope could only fit in there if 1 or 2 of Superman's footers are within it, but including entrance & exit lines it's nigh on impossible
  12. Yes, but that animation was prior to Intamin's announced involvement, and the park undergoing construction (which, speaking of, IIRC footers for FF have been poured already). It's purpose was just to show a basic idea of what height, speed, and features (launch, cliff drop, section alongside racetrack) they had envisioned for the coaster. It's like trying to base the layout of Jungle Rush on it's concept art.
  13. The coaster has been pretty much confirmed to be being designed by Intamin, and seems to be going ahead, but the theory was that it would be scaled down.
  14. Pretty much the only way to realistically theme an outdoor coaster consistently well is to have it weave within/between a well-themed area. So if an area’s large enough and is built well enough around a coaster/the coaster is built well enough around the area, it could happen (closest example coming to mind being Velocicoaster, so if there was a chain to do it, I think Universal could). If you don’t have a well-themed area that large, or you fail to integrate it well, you’ll inevitably end up with bare fields, gravel, & concrete (which, to the credit of Rivals, isn’t quite the case due to the creek nearby). Incredicoaster being a prime example of this, as most of the layout isn’t integrated into the area at all, and therefore is mainly just spirals, concrete, & gravel.
  15. Freizeitpark (translated, Amusement Park) Mirabilandia, which is the park where iSpeed (the coaster in the image) is located
  16. THIS IS NOT, IN ANY CAPACITY, MEANT TO BE TAKEN AS PROOF THAT THIS IS THE TRUTH, but that's pretty much what I was told from an employee when I asked 'em about it sometime before Levi opened, being that the trains were inoperable, the cost of maintaining them was too much, and management (VRTP) looked at getting new ones but the price wasn't acceptable. So, in the meantime, they're keeping the track standing, partially because there's no reason to remove it and the cost/effort of demolishing it isn't a necessary expenditure (not what the employee said), partially because they recognize the history of the attraction and wish to leave it up as an homage (what the employee said), and partially because they're still somewhat hopeful they can acquire trains and reopen in the future.
  17. It's definitely utilizing LSM technology. Indrivetec is the company that supplies LSM's to Intamin (and a few other companies, iirc), but they don't do much else in the coaster industry aside from that, definitely no other launch types. Also, the image attached to their post is of iSpeed (the 2nd Intamin Blitz coaster), with it's LSM's in forefront. And, roughly translating the text within that image, the headline is 'Magnetically Attracted', and 90% of the post is describing how LSM's work or outlining what they've previously done with LSM's, with the other 10% revealing that they're working on the aforementioned project that breaks the world speed record. Here's the image in full resolution:
  18. While I agree, the first (and possibly, only) one that comes to mind is Superman the Ride at SFNE.
  19. 'Least that means they can ride the better coasters more, hopefully.
  20. I kinda like the name 'Rivals', and I can see why they'd want to put 'Hypercoaster' in the name seeing as it's the first one in the Southern Hemisphere, but having 'DC' in the name and logo is a bit much, especially when it's only purpose is to justify having some panels in the queue line and an animated video in the station/onride videos.
  21. Apparently, without trims, it would be way too fast over the top hat (about -2G's, which isn't lethal, but definitely distressing and illegal when sustained for as long as it would be). And there's no reason to justify launching TTD at that speed, then trimming it as it ascends the top hat, nor is there any space in the launch section to allow for it. So unless if TTD's top hat was changed/redone, which is pretty much confirmed to not be happening, it's almost definitely something else. Still interesting information, though.
