  1. They’ve just begun announcing that at the park, it supposedly won’t open at all today (even if winds die down)
  2. It’s listed as open today @ the park, and the severe wind warning hasn’t extended to SW as of yet, so it’s at least still planned to open.
  3. I was thinking about that last time I went too, cause it's not like they'd just shut Superman down, but it's main hinderance has always been the launch. If a retrofit to LSMs is on the market, that'd be a great opportunity to fix it's main issue, and simultaneously breathe new life into the theming (and modernize the station/s) as well. There's a lot of relatively cheap things that could be done in a period of renovation to make Superman all that much better.
  4. Maybe passholders the week of, so Monday 28th onwards? Seeing as they only just ramped up cycling/testing the trains, seems unlikely to be any earlier than that IMO.
  5. Officially announced now. Instagram: https://www.instagram.com/p/Cks9TrCD2jS/?hl=en Website (again): https://seaworld.com.au/attractions/rides-and-precincts/the-new-atlantis
  6. Either quickly removed, or it's not showing up on that link for me. Either way, I guess that's what they're announcing in a couple hours.
  7. If it gets repainted, gets a new name, has a queue reroute, gets new trains, uses a new LSM launch, and even potentially gets Kingda Ka brakerun, I'd say that's more than enough to be recognizably different.
  8. That's on the 'Maintenance' page, I know they're all displayed as Under Maintenance on there. I'm talking about the main 'Attractions' page, that one only displays GL.
  9. Yet, just going on to the main page to see what's open (like, I'd imagine, any usual guest would), the only one displayed as under maintenance is GL. You've got to go into each one's individual page to see the little 'Planned Maintenance' footer.
  10. It's okay everyone, all hope's not gone yet, you can still meet Tweety!
  11. Yeah, for me it's got to be ToT, by far. When I was younger, I'd gone on every ride at DW bar Buzzsaw, GD, and ToT, mostly because they were too intimidating for me at the time. And, when I really got interested in the industry, enough to really want to ride it, RR happened so I cancelled my pass and didn't go for a few years, and it closed before I got the chance.
  12. I seem to very much be the odd one out here, but Superman's very near-and-dear to me, so I'm fine with it being short both because of the dark ride section/theming, and because it delivers so strongly with the time it has. Because of that, I've got Superman about on-par (if not above) DCR, with normal ST below and Tailwhip ST above them both (due to the aforementioned cycle I got).
  13. I think Tailspin is pretty much perfect for my wants in what a flat provides. It can be a calming, nice ride if you choose not to flip, and has good forces (namely, hangtime and whip) if you do choose to flip. The Claw's much too restrictive for me, and Pandemonium's way too fast, as well as having way too many positive forces and degrees of motion to be anything more than headache-inducing. So far as the other flats go, I think Pandemonium is below Vortex, and Doomsday is below The Claw, but Tailspin's #1. If I were to pick 1 more flat for DW, though, I'd say some kind of observation ride before anything thrilling.
  14. I quite enjoy Tailspin, find Pandemonium sickening and haven't been on the Claw in a while, so I think they've all got their place
  15. I'm starting to think that I was either super lucky when I first rode it, or they've nerfed it post-opening. Because, when I first rode it (opening day, right before park close) it was much better than both Superman and DCR was the day before, and I observed it taking it's layout very fast (and Tailwhip spinning a lot) throughout the day. But, on a more recent ride in the same seat, and according to all of y'all, it's much tamer now. So, either they tamed it afterwards, or it's just due to being Winter, which I guess we'll see later on in the year.
  16. Honestly, from what's known about the S&S Axis (mostly being that it's seemingly limited to low g-forces), could they not just make a layout without the flipover element and perhaps with slightly modified restraints, and make it a family coaster? RMC's done it (Hybrid/Thrill > Hybrid/Family), Vekoma's done it (SFC/Family > STC/Thrill), why couldn't S&S?
  17. While that is true, most of these were a decent amount of time ago (at least in industry standards), as well as most consisting of relatively smaller rides (all but ToT, kinda). Though, that's not me saying that RMC should be entirely ruled out as a manufacturer in Australia just because it's not got anything here yet, nor that an unproven ride type of theirs is an impossible investment for a park here, just that going straight into the deep end (either with a custom raptor or a ground-up hybrid, and especially in the current industry's landscape) seems out-of-left-field. What I can imagine is a park here going for a smaller-scale RMC, like the cloned Raptors or an RMC Family Hybrid, and if it performs up to expectations (or they could score a package deal), then explore options for RMC's of a grander scale.
  18. I could see it, but it'd definitely be a gamble when there are other, more proven models for sale by manufacturers that are already established here (just less of a gamble than going all-in on a Raptor or ground-up Hybrid).
