Sea World Monorail removed from website and park map
Tricoart replied to themagician's topic in Theme Park Discussion
The only real place an Atlantis station could go is adjacent to that concrete slab they poured recently, but that’s apparently just going to be for a BoH warehouse (though I choose to not believe that til it’s built, ‘cause that’s a colossal waste of space if so, especially for a landlocked park). In general, though, the consensus with the monorail seems not to be that it’s never coming back, nor that it’s very likely to, moreso just that nobody knows (including the park themselves) what to do with it. But, the longer they let it rust, and the more BoH stuff they put underneath it (aforementioned slab near Levi), the less likely it seems that there’ll be a replacement. -

maybe the same could be happening here? -
Honestly, with Village being so incredibly slow at everything recently, it wouldn’t surprise me if Jungle Rush opens before that pathway at SW does. It took ‘em months just to give a store a coat of paint & move a few shelves out.

Altogether, ST was $32 mil. They wouldn’t exclude the money they repurposed from the government grant in that quoted cost. Seeing as there’s no exact direct comparison, I only doubled that number to overestimate the likely margin at which coaster price has increased above that of general inflation, and I must say that it seems well within the realm of plausibility after converting it to USD solely for comparison’s sake (the doubled number is ~$17-18mil USD in 2024) & comparing older examples of Vekomas & Arrows (Corkscrew @ Alton Towers was £1.25mil GBP in 1980/~$9-10mil USD in 2024, Loch Ness Monster @ Busch Gardens Williamsburg was $5mil USD in 1978/~$23-25mil USD in 2024) to similar current Vekoma models (Lech Coaster @ Legendia was €12mil EUR in 2017/~$16mil USD in 2024, Fønix @ Fårup Sommerland was 100mil DKK/~$15mil USD in 2022), and both to it. And, to be clear, the only fudging/‘pulling out my bum’ of those numbers was rounding them to the nearest mil USD, again solely for easier comparison. As such, they’re by no means completely accurate, hence the use of ranges & ‘~’, to make it abundantly clear that the altered numbers are merely estimations instead of facts, as that doesn’t seem to have gotten through the first time around. Point being, them saying it’s their largest investment in a singular attraction yet does mean something, not necessarily a game-changing amount but it’s a factual & easy way to portray that there’s effort going into making the attraction the best it can be. At the end of the day, it is marketing though, so it’s purpose is undeniably still to flaunt it’s good sides, but it’s not doing it in an objectively untruthful or manipulative way like you seem to believe, and like certain other projects have done recently.

Exactly why I doubled the inflated cost in the sentence I wrote above said cost, as a very large margin of error/difference.

Assuming the cost of amusement park rides has risen at double the rate of that which regular inflation has, it would still be $6 million cheaper than Steel Taipan was.

Maybe I’ve just looked past it, then, that does tend to happen w/ me. What used to be on it? -

So, just before WWF/Doomsday’s path, with the It Maze building façade in the background? If so, that’s an interesting location if Superman were to indeed be the main entrance & not the assumed ‘secondary’ one near Scooby. Still, billboard could be better. At least painting the frame in a less bright/clashy colour. -
If only they had switched it to say ‘Coming Soon’, instead of sticking with their previously announced opening date.

Where’s the location of that billboard? ‘Cause if that’s on Main St (beside Superman’s entrance & facing the fountain), they really could’ve served to make it look a bit better than that. -
A second Flash movie doesn’t exist, does it? Aside from the whole first one being a flop that was doomed from the start with their casting choice & horrible direction, making a sequel an obviously horrible decision, I haven’t seen anything being announced about it.

Movie World Scheduled Maintenance 2024
Tricoart replied to themagician's topic in Theme Park Discussion
Don’t remember where I heard it, but I someone mentioned last year that Arkham’s replacement was planned to be themed as ‘Joker’s Madhouse’, so that it’d be more of a spiritual successor to Arkham than WoO. I’ll see if I can find it. Edit: So either it was gonna be a Joker’s Madhouse raptor, or a Joker’s Madhouse theme for the 3 coasters that we’re still getting. Either way, they’ve at least had 2 separate plans for a new ‘Joker’s Madhouse’ themed ride/s & for an RMC Raptor. So, if GL’s really on the chopping block, digging up those plans & doing as such is probably the best use that plot could get. That said, I think Doomsday’s are numbered much more than GL’s are, & maybe they chuck a Joker-themed thing there instead (hopefully not, though). -

Wonder Woman, Catwoman, or they could reuse the plan they had for WoO & have it be Joker (especially since it’d assumedly still be located opposite Batwing, it’d lend to much more cohesion & a chance to make that pathway actually have a decent theme by starting with Joker to the left & Batman to the right, then Justice League slightly ahead, and ending with Rivals as a culmination) -

Seeing as Green Lantern (the problematic coaster that, hypothetically, is in need of replacing) is an S&S, they probably wouldn’t want replace it with another S&S. What I said earlier was referring to a Raptor clone, as they’re probably the only likely model that could fit in that plot & be an appealing purchase to VRTP, but they too have their own set of operational problems. It’d be nice to have a coaster there, but if GL were to close it mightn’t be given a direct replacement in the same plot of land. -

i can think of one, and only one, cloned compact thrilling coaster layout with inversions, and that one would probably end up having similar issues. -

“Following guest feedback, we have amended the operations of the Green Lantern rollercoaster to appeal more broadly to our guests. The ride vehicles will now sit stationary in the station for the ride’s duration and see the removal of all inversions and requires a minimum of 8 riders to operate. Thank you for your understanding.” -

Huh, cool. Guess they just ticked ‘em all off for the same reason I said, instead of just default having them. Learn something new, etc. -

When filing trademarks, they’re not just done in regards to specific, intentional items, they’re done based upon broader categories (or, in that case, ‘classes’). Further text is just listing examples of things that’d fall under the given category, for clarity’s sake. Same reason they’re both covered for a class that predominantly mentions educational materials, sports, and video games, as that’s the class which amusement park services fall under. ‘Flight of the Wicked Witch’ is iffy IMO, but the boomerang’s name couldn’t really be any better than that. In some ways, though, i’m more interested in seeing how ‘KT’ (assumedly) ends up than I am with ‘FotWW’, so that may just be carrying over into their names. -
The MCBR gives a pop of similar strength in both the front & back rows, they’re just reversed (front gets it when entering, back gets it when exiting). The location of the MCBR in the RideForces graph is just after the first 2 +G spikes at the halfway point in the graphs, for reference. And, if you wanted the RideForces graphs for DCR & Levi, these are the latest DCR rides I’ve recorded (November 23), in the closest to front & back rows I could get: And Leviathan (October 23), keeping in mind that force graphs for woodies have a lot more noise/margin of error due to both their roughness and it being hard to keep hands still: To show that margin of error, here are 2 other Row 11 Levi rides I had within hours of the one above: Also, should be noted, Ride Forces begins the graph whenever it believes that the ride has begun, which can alter drastically on every ride, for seemingly no reason. Like, one has decided to begin at around the disengaging of the chain, whereas the other has decided to begin around the time it first engages with it. I could edit that after the fact, to have them start at the same point, but I can’t really be bothered.

Depends on how you rank gimmick seats. In my rankings, if/when applicable, I separate them from the normal ride experience, and only group them when there’s no opportunity to not do so. If grouping, solo ST spinning seat on a hot day is a similarly chaotic experience to DCR backwards seat on a hot day, so putting them near each other in that case is understandable. As a layout, DCR is pretty objectively better, though, unless you’re a huge fan of inversions above all else.
