  1. I agree entirely.....If they are going to install a new ride, it should be covered by the ride pass. Luna Park is now just a series of carnival type rides w/no character at all, such a shame when you can remember what it was once like
  2. Anyway...how about getting back on topic here
  3. Exactly.....Can we get back on the topic please.
  4. Where on earth was the BD located? Like back in those days was the park bigger or did it still have the SR running round the whole outside
  5. No.....It was the same as the other Big Dipper ride, not the SR, that USED to be in Melbournes Luna Park. Sydney never had a Secic Railway ride.
  6. I also though that the main reason why it didn't operate is because it was far too rough, and that no-one wanted to ride it.
  7. Yes....the original wooden Big Dipper was a wonderful ride, it was also identical to the version that was at Melbourne's Luna Park. Steep drops & pleanty of air time....Such a pity that we have nothing like it now
  8. Er...yes you can if you GPRS or unwired & also Telstra provides roaming access
  9. Look at Taronga Zoo for example: they spent something like $40m on redeveloping an existing area to make something new and really good, using money from sponsors and private investment. Why can't other parks do something similar to make new attractions?
  10. It's about time they came to their senses....thanks Richard
  11. Hey TARONGA....Point taken however, I know of no other city in the world that has a roller coaster on top of a building like this & that's my point. It's a place unto itself so you can't really compare it to anywhere else. As far as quality of our thrill rides here, we certainly have a few such as the TOT & Giant Drop which were mentioned before, there's also Lethal Weapon & IMHO Scooby Doo & Wild Wild West are pretty exciting & expensive attractions. I also think the Claw is a pretty thrilling ride too. I guess it's just a matter of perception. With regards to someone financing these rides that you want, well maybe if we had the population to support them, they would.
  12. I would call the Stratosphere Tower an exception to the rule. The Surge tower on top of it ( or what ever it's called ) can be found in many theme parks across the USA. They have the population to warrent these rides where as Australia does not. Lets face it, if you take away where the roller coaster on the tower is situated, it's hardy a thrilling ride to go around & around in a circle IMHO
  13. You know, regardless of which state gets this park, it will still be a most welcome addition to our theme park line up. Naturally, as a Sydneysider I would like to see a decent theme park in NSW. We do have the largest population after all &.... nothing what so ever that meets these needs IMHO.
  14. It would NEVER stand up in a court of law. THEY charge you to provide a service. THEY have a duty of care &.. if THEY are in the wrong & you get hurt, THEY can be sued.
  15. I HAVE gone to buffet, that's what I was talking about. I wouldn't expect quality food from a hamburger stand you know. I get offended paying THAT kind of money for terrible food
  16. Is that all??? Gee, I think I'll buy two
  17. I agree, why should we promote this park when they clearly have no respect for this site. I have had several bad experiences at WBMW, rude staff & long lines as well as awfully overpriced & disgusting food.
  18. SHHhhh...Movie World may jump on us for saying that
  19. There is also a huge area of land next to the octopus ride which could quite easily have a few more rides such as the Ghost Train mentioned.
  20. I believe it was a four year old Boy & I don't see why a mother would want to take a four yera old onto a thrill ride like that. I love thrill rides but would seriously think twice about riding anything that provides you with vomit bags.
  21. Darkside, welcome to the forum. Please read the community guidelines on spelling & punctuation as we do not accept abbreviated words that are typical of most chat sites. As far as Tiger Island goes, can anyone assist?
  22. Here's a link to pic's & video of the official 50th Kick off..enjoy http://www.laughingplace.com/Lotion-View-74.asp http://www.mouseinfo.com/showupdate.php?id...20050506&page=1
  23. But back onto the topic here. I found this article today about the India rumor http://news.yahoo.com/news?tmpl=story&u=/a...nt_050504043248
