My favourite ride at Wonderland was the Snowy River Rampage, probably because it was the only water ride in the park & I love water rides

I didn't have a problem with it either. I understand that there are guidelines however, it isn't like he did the whole thing in acronyms or something like that. With regards to the BB ( sorry I used an acronym there ) I feel that it should be demolished. Wonderland is gone & there's nothing more depressing IMO ( another acronym ) than a rotting old abandoned wooden coaster. I saw one at Coney Island in New York years ago & it just looked so sad. If it is preserved, I would imagine that it's going to cost tax payers a lot to keep it in a safe condition.

Well you know if Disney was put off building a theme park for bad weather, what about Tokyo Disneyland? It snows there & they also have lots of rain too. When I went I was astonished to see that all of Main Street was under a huge glass canopy for just that reason.

I think that Disneyland is the best theme park ever. I doubt you'd find any park anywhere in the world that matches it in theming & standard of excellence, but that's just opinion

What on earth would Disney want with a park like Wonderland? There's no way they'd build anything as an extension of that park. Maybe they might buy the land but that would be to buldose everything on it to the ground before any park was built. All highly unlikely I feel.

With regards to the Haunted Mansion, from what I can remember, you just go around both levels in the dark smacking into plastic room dividers...Oooooh scary stuff huh? LOL

I agree...although a Disneyland would be awesome, so would a decent Six Flags park, oh hell ANYTHING would be better than what we have which is zip!!!

I doubt that they'd build a water park on it's own. The water works at Mt Druitt went bust as did the one in Manly. A theme park is the best plan IMHO

Like all travelling Ghost Train rides, The RollerGhoster is better on the outside than the inside. I love dark rides too so I never miss the chance to ride a new one if I see it. BTW if your going this year, save your money & don't go on it OR the Haunted Mansion located near the Spinning Wild Mouse. Both are a total waste of space with nothing more than black corridors inside.

I think this is geared right at families & not for the thrill seekers. Superman should make all the white knuckle lovers happy though

I thought it was fun however the typical wild mouse part was a bit of a let down. It would've been better if they had more drops & less turns IMHO

I would hope that if they did build a park here ( & let's NOT swing by our necks waiting ) it would be in line with the other parks built around the world. The " Magic Kingdoms " Are Disney's signature parks. All those other parks such as DCA, Disney Studio's etc are all basically additions to the existing formula. Out of those additional parks, the only one IMHO that holds it's own in TDS...this awesome park has to be seen to be believed. Other than that I doubt that any of the others could hold their own alone. Yes, it IS very possible that a park for Australia would be scaled back accordingly however it would grow with time & would blitz everything in it's way. Can you just imagine the competition between WBMW, DW & Disneyland??? There would be new rides going into those other parks SO fast your head would spin LOL

Well you know Nev, considering THIS discussion is really about a possible theme park being built here, I don't see how Disney's ongoing interest in the Capitol theatre is a really valid point. Stage shows are a far cry from a theme park & I don't know about you, but seeing TLK twice was plenty for me. Where as if it was a park I would certainly go more than twice over an 18 month period. Just so you know those overpriced Disney Stores you mentioned? They closed in Australia more than a year ago after Michael Eisner decided to down size &... what THAT had to do with a theme park being built here also baffles me. BTW, the Disney name IS associated with quality Nev, & quality usually comes at a premium price

Yes I totally agree with you ZordMaker.....TLK has been a wonderful Disney stage show but like all shows, they run for a few seasons & go. Some may remember that Beauty & the Beast was also here aprox four years ago too. A Disney park would be a totally themed experience that's unparalleled in Australian theme parks today. They don't call it the " magic " kingdom for nothing. It's true that you generally won't find a lot of white knuckled rides at a Disney park but, that's NOT what they WERE all about. I say " were " because there has been a few additions over the last few years that enforce height restrictions. This kinda flies in the face of what Walt's vision was all about. I do however feel that the thrilling attractions like TOT & Rockin Rollercoaster etc ARE very well done. I guess I can enjoy them as much as the classic family attractions because, they have that sprinkle of Disney pixie dust on them No..we DON'T need a Disneyland Australia, but boy it would be cool

Very good video, probably the safest way to ride that horrible coaster without having the fillings in your teeth shaken loose

My favourite Disneyland ride would be easily be Pirates Of The Caribbean. It totally immerses you in a fantasy world with stunning animatronics & fantastic scenery. It's a true Disney family based classic that has endured the test of time. Also from what I understand, it's the last attraction that Walt actually worked on & opened before his untimely death.

Yeah excellent collection. Must've cost a few dollars to get it all together NOT to mention many hours of work assembling it.

Hi, The Wild Cat was located ontop of the old Bumper Boats building ( near where the Wild Mouse is today ) opposite the old Big Dipper. I was told that it came from Germany..It was quite a thrilling ride especially the first drop. I thought that it had been laid to rest many years ago. Incidently..the coaster on the link is not the Wild Cat from Luna Park in the 70's. This coaster was located on a building, the same side as the old Big Dipper near Coney Island & was there for the re opening in the 80's. It has a slow spiral lift hill with one HELL of a first drop into a banked turn

When Wonderland opened the Homebush site was a huge mess of filthy buildings & swamp, this would have cost the original company that built WL five times more to build due to land improvements needed. Wonderland isn't in the wrong spot, it was mismanaged since Sunway took over, there was little or no advertisement on TV & they hadn't added any new rides in more than 8 years. Seems that they just didn't learn the lesson that you need to spend money to make money.
