  1. Go back a page on this thread, one's still on the track. The monorail hasn't run since the Pandemic stated I believe.
  2. Maybe they should expand the Western area into the Doomsday area when it goes? /s
  3. Until I remembered this was in the USA, I thought - wow, 8 months late! :p
  4. Welcome @Oliver - I suspect that the Monorails here would need significant maintenance, possibly rebuilds, to be rated for use again her - let alone whatever safety standards are in place in Germany.
  5. The curious part of the mechanism talk just above, was the East side of GD having that partial drop before the actual release. Back on the original topic, the only thing I get apprehensive about on big rides is how nauseous it would make me feel. My first time on DCR was during soft opening, and I did it backwards. Was more thrilling than scary when deciding to ride. Knowing the safety standards and stats doesn't give me any fear of a malfunction (the odds are so very small), so I only "fear" my physical reaction to the ride. Last time I did ST I knew I'd not be able to do an immediate re-ride - so did SV in between. If I was peer pressured into a re-ride, I'd have fear of having to make maintenance come to the exit with a mop and bucket! :p I'd fear carnival rides like Extreme Speed 2, No Limit and XXXL for this reason more than safety.
  6. With WOO, they're timing it well with the movie release. Flash, way behind - even if they were planning a December opening.
  7. Logged into Parkz fine using a (Sim Corner) Spanish sim card while lining up for rides at Disneyland Paris. As long as you know your login credentials I believe you'll be fine. Good luck with the video transfer. If you do upload it, definitely watermark it because there will be bad actors wanting to re-host it themselves.
  8. No attraction will ever be added closer to Kopps Rd for two reasons - proximity to residences, and that whole area is a major flood point. Back on the Flash topic, interesting theme for something that's not too fast in reality. Is there a reason they won't use the Titans? Licensing? Could theme it to Raven, Nightwing or Beast Boy.
  9. Always thought it was weird that they just covered RHLR over in many places. Any future attraction there will need excavation & demo before construction.
  10. Just a metric conversion here, the spike @Slick you mention is 500ft, 152m, which is just over 30m higher than the Dreamworld Tower. TTD is only 128m / 420 ft - are they raising the height of the hump? 😲
  11. My spitballing post below is going on the assumption of the ride beginning facing forwards or backwards. As for enclosed switchback, if the ride starts at the height of Billabong / Big Red Car, the enclosed turntable could be inside the ToT station building after completing some of the ride already. For the story - if you're driving in an Aussie jungle, what's going to make you want to put the jeep into reverse? Cassowary? Crocodile? Rolling boulder? If the story is an "escape from", you could do the story at either the station if starting reversed (Leviathan), or the turntable if starting forwards.
  12. Lucky they didn't leave the top "D" until last... (I'll show myself out.)
  13. Going with that being intentional, to help show guests that the area is a thoroughfare.
  14. + Dreamworld Flyer and the splash pad. I don’t really think it is necessarily a bad thing though. They really are transforming the park while fixing past managements poor decisions. Sure it’s a lesser ride count but atleast it will now be quality over quantity, and they’ve already stated they have more plans for the next 5 years or so. It’s really nice seeing our parks get so much care and investment as of lately. + an all-new Vintage Cars.
  15. Pulls pin. Dreamworld didn't open with IPs, it doesn't need IPs. Drops nade.
  16. There's two movies from the Wizard of Oz 'universe' coming out over the next few years: "Wicked" parts 1 & 2, also a very popular stage musical. MW are getting back into making attractions based off current (non-DC) IPs, and WoO has got the bonus of a rich history to bookend it.
  17. Ahh, thanks Skeet. Suspected it was the lot to the west of that.
  18. Wasn't the land to the north sold off (where the BB house was)? Or, was the land between the BB house and the Koala Eucalypt/Vintage Cars the area sold off? Back on topic, if there's something that they're sitting on that would give them a major hit in the industry they're competing in, why should they be transparent? Not having a go at people's comments in the thread, just asking.
  19. Great to hear that you mostly had an awesome time there. Some questions: - How did you go with the other guests in the various parks you visited? Sometimes they can add to the magic, sometimes detract. (My DL Paris visit on Halloween was enhanced by so many dressing up, for example.) - Did you eat in the parks at non-booked / non table service places as well? How much better was the booked restaurant (if they were better)? - Did you have time to do Smuggler's Run as well as RotR? How was it? - As Galaxy's edge has been around for for a little wile now, are the cast members still going with it ("bright suns!" etc)? - In RotR when you were put in your cells, did you try the Andor "I'm a tourist!" line? - What surprised you most about LA (outside of the parks)?
  20. I'd go for a Restaurant, but one not too high that it affects the skyline from the carpark. This said, the front of the park is a significant watercourse, and we've seen that area and the carpark underwater before. Link Link I'd be all for a Citywalk styled area out front that extends to the hotel, but the flood risk is too high (unless the precinct is built higher...but that'd ruin the skyline).
  21. Hey mods, can we get some warnings edited into posts that link to images of the crash scene? Cheers. I don't know the broadwater islands that well, will this accident scene have water over it when the tide rises? Will make the CASA investigation much harder if so.
  22. You can do DLS & DLP in a day when it's quiet, but you're losing the wandering around marveling at everything, which is a must-do at any Disney Park.. Again, I went on one of the busiest days of the year. This said, two days there would be much better. If we were able to do two days, I'd certainly have ridden the Avengers Coaster again, and added Crush's Coaster. DLS is still not a full day, not until Erendell opens at least. Our trip was not able to accommodate another day at the parks. I liked how they were able to blend both the 30 years and Halloween theming. It was seamless.
  23. I would be an 80s kid again if Rivertown was extended all the way to Giant Drop with something replacing Motocoaster.
  24. The archway next to Motocoaster as you enter ABC Kids had Tsehay on Sunday Dec 12th. Same day she was also on the ABC Kids sign next to the pathway towards Tiger Island.
  25. The concept art on the temporary fencing surrounding the ride matches the images on page 2 of this thread. I believe it'll face west / carpark / M1.
