  1. Boofheads standing on garden beds, or dancers out front of an ice cream parlour? Do they still do that? Been a while since I've been to DW.
  2. Totally understandable. If you were on the right seat, is the old BB house still visible to the north?
  3. I mean this with no morbidity - did you look much at the TRRR site, or just enjoy the view that the west side has always dished up?
  4. Ah, thanks. Been a while since I've ridden it. Last few times I did, it was walk-on so I didn't pay as much attention to early queue themeing as I had in the past.
  5. Going by the last couple of years' SupaNova (etc), there's no shortage of amazing Harely Cosplayers they could have used. But that's not the angle. It's about the asylum staff advising you, not spoiling the fact that the inmates are loose.
  6. Going by the announcement video, the support coming in from outside the fence will support the track at the moment it begins twisting at the top of the loop, so even higher than the top of the triangle formed by the thicker supports going up from the left. There's another support coming in from the other side, over near the trees on the left but much further past the pretzel helix.
  7. To play devil's advocate for a sec, if MW have bought the ride with two rear facing seats per train. They would have known the exact capacity and have intentionally gone ahead with this configuration. We are likely to see four queues. I agree with other above, people who don't care about front/back etc will just get in the general line, or the shortest line. It's going to be okay. Morning rides in November during school days will see short enough queues. Outside of that, until Feb 18, you'll just have to deal with it. It's potentially a top ten coaster, we're going to have to expect lines..
  8. I sure as hell didn't go to Disney for the current film tie-ins. I went because it's a family friendly, magical and historic theme park. Getting a photo with Mickey, riding the train, wearing the mouse ears un-ironically, seeing the Dumbo ride, Carousel and walking through the Castle. Then came the next reason: rides. Disney Parks don't thrive because of current films. It helps, but it's only a fraction of the attraction. The magic of Disneyland for me reminded me of the magic I felt as a child visiting Dreamworld in the late 80s and early 90s. The fountain, main street, singing quartet, paddle steamer and bushranger show, Village Green and the Jamboree show. I now understand the leaked email and subsequent release on their focus of an experience of visiting Dreamworld. I long to see Gold Rush and Blue Lagoon turned into an RMC and well-themed Australiana area. I do, I want signature rides, but that's only ever been a small part of the magic Dreamworld gave me as a kid and teenager (in the way of Thunderbolt and Eureka). It's a bold step to take the park on this 'nostalgia' and 'memorable experience' route, to sever the cord on the thrills arms race against VRTP, and I guess history will only tell if it's the best move. An ARG would send this site nuts.
  9. In response to the possible push back to October (if no soft open occurs): I suspect that we're having a delay of sorts on track pieces. Supports seem to be plentiful, but after the twist under the stengel dive, there was a lull, then after the helix there was a lull. The non-inverting loop pieces have been on site for yonks, and it seems to me that when a container of track pieces other than the loop arrives, it's almost immediately put up (finishing the inclined dive loop for example). I don't see how the bunny hops in the final quarter of the ride couldn't go in if they were here, as opposed to being installed after the dive/airtime. The delay is unlikely to be at Mack's end, going by the lead times mentioned many pages ago. Must be track pieces taking longer on the seas or in to port somewhere...
  10. Great photos @Slick - especially this one. Only thing with it is my curiosity for how the landscaping will go.
  11. I guess this explains the fenceline moving in under the lift hill (the area from the fence toppers thread), where the old driveway used to be. I suspect this is going to be the path that goes from outside the park, under Rivals, and over the bridge to Top Golf.
  12. The apparent three white buildings to the right are all Justice League. The only part left to discussion is the bottom right area. I think it's a placeholder, not a pre-ride show building. In that spot right now is GL's queue, the exit of JL, the path towards Rivals, and a lot of greenery in the way of hedges and gardens. I'd imagine if a building was going in there, it'd be going in right now during GL's downtime.
  13. Cool, I've been itching to see a Drone video of the construction. Thanks Slick. Was permission sought/approved? Or a not for discussion topic?
  14. Looks large enough to be a public thoroughfare footbridge, and a bit too large to be maintenance/evac. It's certainly not in its' final location, considering it is sitting on wood blocks. Could it be a tunnel for the back end of the coaster?
  15. Maybe they're finally going to finish Superman Escape's theming and put a Metropolis facade in there to imply he's flying you around the city... /s
  16. Agreed. But as discussed in other threads here recently, an acted pre-show for a ride is pretty much history in our parks these days. Sadly.
  17. I understand your pessimism. The lanes I'm thinking of would be the 6th or 7th as you drive in, almost as far along as the concrete footpath. This connects closer to the PnG, and is further from the main entry. Have a look at a Google Map to see what I mean. Great idea. I guess this setup would work for the currently accessible shops, but if a precinct is made, another approach would be needed.
  18. I don't think we've got all the track pieces for the non-inverting loop onsite yet. Supports for it? Looks like.
  19. I heard that designer Jamie Durie was back from the states to oversee final works.
  20. Only wristband available when I went last week was Harley. Others 'sold out' with 'no idea' when they'd be back in stock.
  21. Won't need enforcing if there's enough spaces set aside.
