  1. Are these the same piece of track? I'd hazard a guess that this is the left turn into the potential roll, and is "78", with the seven written poorly. Great pics @Reanimated35.
  2. The general public seeing "a twisty top of the coaster" may think that potential element in MW's ride is a 'copy' of Buzzsaw. I never implied that the GP would link the hyper's potential element to TRRR, nor that Buzzsaw had and fatalities. Could you clarify, Gazza?
  3. Among enthusiasts a non-inverting loop sounds great, but would the general public make some kind of negative connection between that and Buzzsaw? They're completely different but both feature a twist at the top off a loop. @rummy, my zero-g roll comments have been in regard to the area after the s-bend and left turn currently going in. I incorrectly attributed part 42 to this roll. We're all talking about two elements in roughly the same spot, albeit one outbound and one inbound. Your coloured dots image show these two as magenta and yellow dotted zones.
  4. Big post here. Sorry (not sorry). I feel like this week's construction (and forums posts) have been coming thick and fast, so I wanted to respond to various posts in the one thread. Monday: This image by @themagician (who visited the park almost daily and uploaded many pics - thanks!) of piece 66 is part of the diving turn, for those playing jigsaw. Remember, @rummyplaced piece 53 at the top of the Stengel Dive. Tuesday: @themagician posted this comment about @docoaster marrying installed and projected track (into the s-bend track), which prompted me to revisit their entry in the Design the Coaster comp. I noticed they used the foundations to suggest the next element in the forward direction of the coaster was a zero-g roll. I was not expecting assembly to progress that far this week so I was prepared to wait and see next week if @docoaster was going to be right. I was busy with work & family over the next few days, and didn't check the forums much. Wednesday: This image by @Theme Park Girl - was the first time I longed to see the train in motion of the track (turns out to be one of many pic updates from you this week, thanks!). The curve had me feeling like this. Thursday: @themagician posted the above pic, very similar to @Theme Park Girl's, but with progress showing the track now joined to the top of the turnaround. A perfect photo. GIF made below with pink - sorry the generator didn't have a 'magenta' option. Another from @themagician was this: I measured the middle piece of track to about a 135 degree rotation - meaning either an overbanked turn or part of the zero-g roll. The mounting point might help explain - honestly I'm not sure myself. [edit - turns out it's neither!] Friday: @Skeeta posted a pic by TPSN, and @themagician posted something similar: This is an angle I really want to photo/video the train moving towards camera. themagician also posted piece 81, but with 61 being part of the turnaround's dive, this must be going in well after the s-bend, maybe the last piece of the left-hander under the top of the Stengel Dive. themagician also posted this image - it looks to be the rest of twisty the element they posted on Thursday. I am in agreement with @xRazzBerryx - @docoaster's zero-g prediction looks about right. @Ryande16 then goes on to post what I was thinking, albeit calling it a corkscrew. Today, Saturday: @Theme Park Girl posts more awesome pics - the crowd shot especially. I want to stand right there on its' first day and watch for an hour. Then @themagician posts this angle: I must again respond with my matrix gif. Such a good piece of track - and it's not one even of the main elements! The train will most likely have completed only one (two at the most) airtime hill by the time it reaches this area, will it be carrying too much speed to execute a non-inverting loop? Seeing as though Soaring with Dragons in China does it straight after a LSM launch, perhaps not..? 42 is part of a non-inverted loop...?!?!??!??
  5. Earlier in this thread id was mentioned that the angles of the poles give it away. The main poles are the ones on the right, they go all the way up to the connector plate to the track. The main pole will take the brunt of the energy from the train, so the train will be moving left - to - right, meaning this part is for the track just before it turns away from the road and heads back towards the station.
  6. Okay, go to the kitchen drawer. Grab a spoon. No, a bigger spoon. Good. Now, fill that spoon with a few hundred grains of salt. Yep, about that much. I've been told by someone down that way it's a Harley Quinn coaster. I was a bit perplexed upon hearing that, as a magenta track doesn't match that theme in any obvious way..
  7. If that's in an effort to not scare the wife and kids before they ride it, good luck with that. It's got a lot 'scarier' elements to come...
  8. From my April 13 post, it appears that piece 51 is the lowest numbered piece identified. It's obvious that pieces 50 or 49 have been attached as well, as seen in the 4th photo in @themagician post on April 22. Of note is the spline connection in that photo - for a reinforced piece.
  9. Been offline a few days, caught up from the last 3 pages. Was wanting to comment on pics to suggest certain corners were coming, then @docoasterupdated their NL pics to even more accurate than what I was considering. Advice, people. Don't comment until you've caught up. I appreciate all the pics over the last few days. How fast will it be out through the s-bend that head chops the Stengel Dive!
  10. Zooming in on the spline in the portrait-orientated photo @Theme Park Girl took, and the "lowering into position" photo @pushbutton took a page back, I'm going to say not overbanked. But I'm looking forward to seeing the completed section in high rez.
  11. 30m - so this banked corner's about half the height of the lift hill, give or take a metre... The first drop and first element (Airtime Hill? Loop?) are going to be so damn fast.
  12. So I'm a doofus. The Fence in the photos by @loki75 are new. The pics from @Theme Park Girl last year show the fence not up yet. "Movie World" and "Village" Fence Toppers it is.
  13. This area was an entry for the back-of-house and studios, so the fence top logo was an 'entry gate' decoration. I believe this part of the fence will be removed, and the new fence will just join with the Green Lantern fence. The fence top logo for the new coaster could be a bunch of these, but seeing as though GL has a ride specific fence topper, I suggest we'll see a themed top for this ride. (Urg, a day or two of no construction and we again talk about fences! )
  14. I think Noodle was trying to gauge the size of the footprint, not the layout.
  15. It looks like there's new supports in the pic from above by @themagician - the orange circled areas. Also @Ryande16 see the long supports still on the ground? Looks like at least one more support yet to go in between the two highest points already standing.
  16. I agree @Inverted. The current track is twisting right and climbing towards the turnaround, so possibly leading into the altered version of Flash I posted above. Also a very rushed hack job to visualise it in Planet Coaster. Looking north from the Top Golf/Entertainment Rd area back towards the MW carpark:
  17. I wasn't thinking dive loop, but since the current track is twisting right and climbing, it's quite a possibility!
  18. In that regard, @rummy, I've been thinking a few things. 1) I can confidently match the two photos taken by @Theme Park Girl to the satellite photo. The full versions of her pics give triangulation points: The fence that is indented around a support footing outside of the fence, and the rocky drain outside the front fence (both circled orange and pointing in the direction of her photos). The rectangular concrete footings are the giveaways. Also, looking at Flash, the turnaround's supports get wider the higher it goes and turns. This would lead me to think the turnaround is a mirror of Flash's (therefore clockwise on the satellite photo), but the current track isn't marrying up to that unless it makes a tight left hand turn. Currently it's making a right hand twist above the orange machinery...
  19. At this point I don't care about an announcement or themeing. Seeing construction progress and us guessing what-goes-where is a very good distraction.
  20. Possibly, but that could have characters in the ride for a movie that might not be out for up to 12 months later. I'd like to see a Mystery Incorporated version this time, however I think the rights they have are still for the film versions.
  21. I think many on here have been looking very closely at Flash for a long while now, and the rest of us (myself certainly included) should as well.
  22. Yep, remember the photographer on a platform at Thunderbolt. [Edit: look at the right side of the bottom of the loop.] Later on they had a photographer in a structure like a covered lifeguard stand, on the both sides of Giant Drop. West side one is visible in this 2011 video, and East side in this 2010 video.
  23. @rummyA very methodical interpretation there. I agree with @AlexB, wrong or right you've been very detailed in your reasoning. I guess a request for those heading that way over the next few weeks - keep getting all those track & support numbers! I don't see myself down there (not with the family) until mid May now.
  24. In the photos posted over the last 4 days by others and I, you can see the point where the supports connect to the track is implying no turns, just a climb. In the picture you posted, the supports connect to the track on the side. This was talked about on page 126 of this thread. This said, it must make a right turn after the highest support in my photos, as it's very close to the front fence by this point. The height that it will be will ensure the turnaround will still be at quite some speed. The turnaround could very well be like the one @AllegroCrab mentioned in the Coaster design Comp.
