  1. With rides, I feel like the only thing they will do is either open them up for Village Key members a few days earlier before the people without it, or make an exclusive time for them to ride them. Cannot see them making exclusive rides for Village Key members only. It would also be bad for people interstate not able to ride rides "because only Village Key members can" (as most likely they wouldn't have them)
  2. Looking at videos I agree. It looks like one of Australia's smoothest coasters, the only ones I could think that could beat it are the ones at LPS. I wonder if MW will change their coaster, seeing as another park in the country has installed it? Also one thing I have noticed: GW and MW are getting the same coaster, but the feedback seems to be different. I have heard people praise Gumbuya but dislike Movie World for their coaster choices. Same with the former Buzzsaw. Lots of people hated it there but now suddenly everyone loves it at Gumbuya.
  3. The Ride of Your Life special is airing tonight due to the Cricket ending early. Watching it again as a enthusiast, it seems that Seven are basically putting only the negative events that happened into the program. If everyone trusted the media in theme parks everyone would be too scared to go to them and no one would go.
  4. The only realistic ones I could see is Play School wheel and Motocoaster. This is because: Gumbuya already has teacups, mini pirate ship, playground and wave swinger, so no point buying another All rides at Dreamworks are confirmed to stay except Gingy's/Puss and Gumbuya already has a wave swinger as said before, especially not Madagascar as Gumbuya are already getting a SFC I feel like PSW is a more likely and better option, as GW will have enough coasters for a few years and it could be a good addition to the Outback Explorers area along with a carousel.
  5. I don't think so, look at White Water World where one is made by ProSlide while the other is by White Water. That was a few weeks ago. I feel like getting an overseas clone that hasn't been made in Australia yet would be good, like this: Compact space, but is also a great looking coaster with one of the fastest inversions.
  6. I would personally install a carousel, plane ride and Intamin droptower, as well as a kids Ferris wheel and one/two more rollercoasters by Mack that match ST/DCR (the other one in this scenario would be a woody made by unknown). Also have a big expansion to the zoo to make it one of Australia's biggest zoos. For the waterpark, I would install a funnel slide, aqualoop, cannon bowl, hydrocoaster and a dark slide, as well as another kids playground all made by ProSlide. This would also mean that the waterpark is split off from the theme park/zoo (like DW/WWW).
  7. Awesome pics. Great to see that the VIC and NSW parks are starting to play serious compared to 20 years ago.
  8. So I guess this is happening: Madagascar is being rebranded to Kenny + Belinda Shrek is being rebranded to ABC Kids Kung Fu Panda is being rebranded to Ocean Parade I would say Puss and Boots and Gingy's Glider will be going due to the Dreamworld Flier (no need for 2) and replaced with current ABC Kids attractions.
  9. By the looks of the concept art, it looks to be rebranded as Big Red Boat. I feel like the current Big Red Boat will go as well as Banana's In Pyjamas Fun Maze. Dorothy's Rosy Tea Cup and Play School Wheel replace Gingy's Gliders and Puss In Boot's Sword Swing respectively, and the new Big Red Coaster will replace Escape From Madagascar.
  10. Looking back at images, it seems that these will be safe: Madagascar Live (Dreamworks theater) Mad Jungle Jam (Belinda's Tree House) Shrek's Ogre-Go-Round Dronkey Fliers Pandanonium (rebranded) Vintage Cars (relocated) TBH I don't think branding Shrek/Dronkey from Shrek to ABC Kids is a great idea. Shrek appeal to all kids, Banana's In Pyjamas and The Wiggles don't.
  11. Yup, even in places like Victoria new attractions are opening. Best time to be an Australian enthusiast.
  12. Will be a great month for VIC parks with this and the new coasters at Gumbuya. Hope to go to both.
  13. Looks like Doomsday is down according to the MW Maintenance page.
  14. Looks really awesome. I would LOVE to go on it when I go to the Gold Coast next.
  15. List of New Attractions: The Dreamworld Flier. A Wave Swinger coming to the park in 2023. Suitable for all ages. Kenny and Belinda's Dreamland. Refurb of DreamWorks Experience. New experiences based off Play School, Bananas in Pyjamas and The Wiggles. ABC Kids World will also merge into this new land. Ocean Parade Expansion. Refurb of Ocean Parade with a new splash zone, and reimagined bumper cars and Pandanonium. Rivertown. New area based off jungle with Vintage Cars moved into the area. Jungle Rush. New $35 million coaster built by Vekoma with 12 airtime moments, ability to go both directions as well as a world first inclined turntable. My thoughts: I like the idea of the Dreamworld Flier. I am surprised it took so long for one to come as Gumbuya World, Adventure Park and LPM all have one. Yes Sea World had one but there hasn't been one in QLD for 3 years until December. Great to see Dreamworks and ABC Kids merge into one with kids rides all around. I assume most rides from ABC will be moved over to the new location with some new ones. Unfortunately I feel like some rides won't make the cut and they will be retired. Ocean Parade expansion sounds awesome, but not much compared to the massive expansions elsewhere. Rivertown sounds awesome, with a controlled rollercoaster and the vintage cars moved. With the ability to go both directions I feel like maybe there will be a vote at the start whether to go forwards or backwards. RE: The retiring of rides, I feel like these will stay: Shrek's Ogre Go Round (rebranded to BIP) Play School Wheel Pandanonium (rebranded) Big Red Boat Dorothy's Tea Cups Play School Wheel Escape to Madagascar (rebranded) Skadoosh Mad Jungle Jam The Claw Tail Spin Giant Drop Shockwave I unfortunately think BIP Maze, Gingy's Gliders, PIB Sword Swing and Dronkey Fliers will be retired. The fact most of them will become less popular due to the DreamWorld Flier as well as the decreased room will probably mean some wont make the cut.
  16. I might wait to go to GC until 2024-2025 so I can see the new rides + WOO at MW. I live in VIC so unfortunately can't go there often.
  17. Ah alright. Personally I don't think that would be a good idea just plonking it there right behind the entrance.
  18. I feel like it is more likely to see a retheme of Dreamworks, as DW has had a lot of theming taken down over the past few weeks. ABC Refurb is not out of question but it is more likely in my eyes to be DW.
  19. Not sure where to put this, but Tim from the Today Show (the weatherman) was at Movie World this morning. The 8:40 cross was done from WWF.
  20. Pakenham Star Community article: Rollercoaster ready at Gumbuya World Gumbuya World chief executive Ron Weinzierl. By Shelby Brooks With spring weather finally gracing the state over the weekend, a season record turnout at Tynong North’s Gumbuya World allowed thrillseekers a glimpse at the $40m rollercoaster project set to open before Christmas. Construction of the two coasters – one a family-friendly suspended rollercoaster and the other a thrill ride reaching 50m in the air and reaching speeds of 100km/h – has been ongoing since April and are set to open 23 December this year. The addition of the two new coasters in Gumbuya World’s theme park precinct will give Victorians an alternative to Queensland, Gumbuya World chief executive Ron Weinzierl said. “I think it stops the community from having to travel to Queensland,” he said. “It will give them rollercoasters in Victoria that’s never been here before. The Scenic Railway is here and The Big Dipper used to be at Luna Park, but this is the first time Victoria has seen rollercoasters at this level.” Family-friendly ride TNT will reach a height of 19.3m, a speed of 67km/h and has two tunnels for 20 passengers a turn. It is for people of a height of 105cm and above. Mr Weinzierl said the ride had taken three years to come to fruition, after working with accredited rollercoaster designers to come up with the concept. “It sounds like a turbo charged train and it’s really smooth and glides,” he said. “You’ll be able to go on it from the age group of about eight or nine.” The thrill ride, Project Zero, reaches a height of 46.2km, a speed of 105km/h and has two inversions for 12 passengers a turn. It’s for people of a height of 140cm and above. “This one to me had to be a space theme,” Mr Weinzierl said. “You sit here at Gumbuya and it shoots you in the air into orbit at pace. “It’s for that older, teenager age group. It’s scary!” The rollercoasters will complete stage three of Gumbuya World’s five-stage plan. “The plan has always been to build a fantastic water park, to continue to develop our wildlife trail and to put rollercoasters into the theme park,” Mr Weinzierl said. “This is the hottest investment in any attraction in Victoria, if not Australia.” Other plans within the theme park precinct include a ferris wheel and carousel, Mr Weinzierl said. “These rollercoasters will be good enough now for that spread within the theme park,” he said. “Next year there will be the question of whether we do water slides. “We just got our exotic zoo licence. We have 52 Australian native animals but now we’re going to put meerkats and monkeys and probably cats. The question is whether we introduce lions.” Gumbuya World recently acquired the neighbouring 44.5ha rose farm to complete stages four and five in the future, which will see a hotel and eco-resort. The entertainment precinct now owns 263ha in total, Mr Weinzierl said. “We will realign it now, we’ve got the farms on both sides,” he explained. “We will then work with community and say, ‘What’s the best for this?’. It’s got a big dam that can service if there are bushfires so we will make this a sustainable property that can also service the community in any emergencies or natural events that may pop up.” Over 5 and 6 November, Mr Weinzierl said the park had seen the highest number of visitors since the season began in September. “This weekend was as good as we’ve seen” he said. The park has also been busy hosting corporate events and expects to see 40,000 school students through to doors. “We had about 20,000 last year, so that’s double expected this year,” he said.
  21. Gumbuya are doing live Facebook updates each week for the new coasters. Here is the one streamed this Wednesday: Episode 2 - The Coasters are getting closer! 🎢 | By Gumbuya World | Facebook Seems that the vehicle has been installed as well as most of the chainlift on Project Zero.
