  1. Oh yeah I’m totally nitpicking like a bit of an a-hole. who knows there could still be theming to be attached to it or something… Considering the amount of rain in the past 2 months as well… huge! I think it’s more a $ issue. It a huge expenditure to demo it without very little return. They’re better off leaving it until they’ve either got cash to splash, or they can incorporate the demo costs into something that will sell more tickets (like a new ride in that space)
  2. Ditto. Mannnn they’ve done good and there’s still a tad more to go! I’m going to be one of those people and highlight the chain link fencing… really wish they were themed to suit! Something like an old rickety wooden fence look would’ve been incredible. Maybe they still will be, or maybe they’ll be hidden once it grows in. 🤷🏻‍♂️ Cannot wait for opening!
  3. Credit where credit’s due. DW have held steady on that $99 price point for some years. It’s been that long I can’t even remember when my renewal was anything less. Given the offering has continued to improve, they need to be commended on that one. 👏 IMO I don’t think it’s a scummy thing to do. The full price is immediately below. If DW had monthly memberships like VRTP used to do, I’m sure you’d expect them to display the per month price larger than the total over 12 months without thinking it’s scummy… so what’s the diff? Pretty sure this is marketing 101… Make the prices look as small as possible, make the discounts look as big as possible. Ever noticed how ALL companies will advertise prices as “from”? Buy these products from only $1! Then, Black Friday deals up to 99% off store-wide! Is it scummy that VRTP add all this extra “value” to their passes? INCLUDES $245 IN BONUS VALUE When you dig a little deeper, it’s $245 worth of discounts/vouchers and you have to spend an extra $400+ to actually unlock this value
  4. That’s exactly what has happened. Quite a lot of management (and staff for that matter) at DW is ex-VRTP.
  5. Relax Hollywood. Having a dig at you for your regular negativity towards DW isn’t all of us wanting to talk about you.
  6. Where’s @New display name? Too far fetched to think they might open for DW’s anni on the 15th?
  7. *chef’s kiss* I think the days of 2D shitty signage are gone for GC theme parks
  8. I’m sure if I also google Caribou planes, DW isn’t using the exact same paint code or wingspan specs or some other configuration they rolled off the production line with… It’s a theme park with THEMING, not a museum where everything needs to be historically accurate. Even though I argue that Model T’s CAN have roofs and owners of such CAN bolt stuff onto them to make it look like it’s been off-road through a jungle (some probably did journey through the Amazon back in the early 1900’s). what you’re forgetting is it’s a THEME park. Nothing has to be accurate, so long as the parents and their kids love it, so if the roof is there so little jimmy doesn’t get sunburnt… GREAT the parents will love it, or if there’s a bird that talks or interacts… Amazing the kids will love it. Or if it’s just some shovels, rope, a spare tyre and Jerry cans, but it makes the whole family feel like they’re about to go through an amazing off-road jungle adventure… PERFECT, the whole family will love it. And as all data suggests, it’s families that pay the bills for DW. Not enthusiasts or history buffs.
  9. You know model T’s had roofs, right? So another one of your great suggestions is Dreamworld forget any add-ons or immersive theming opportunities that families in an theme park would love, and instead just plonk plain looking modal T-Fords into a brand-new jungle themed area?
  10. Immersive theming. If they can nail the roof right just like the concept art, with some canvas shading, a spare tyre, Jerry can, shovel, heck even a fake tropical bird… it will really help immerse riders into the ride.
  11. Oh shhh! Don’t let @New display name see you write that!
  12. Maybe do some research into what share buybacks are and why companies do them… Especially if you’re complaining your shares are down to .45 from the highs 8 years ago
  13. You really think opening WWW 7 days a week wouldn’t create more of a deficit?? I’m glad you’re not running the joint! Sorry, forgot to add WWW having its own management and OPEX instead of sharing it with DW… yeahh that’s certainly the way to get your shares back up /s
  14. Nah I totally get your stance, I was just joking around. In isolation it’s minor, but it’s like the straw that broke the camels back. One of the many disappointments coming from village that don’t equal value for money with passes. I totally get it. Im not sure if he IS the one to blame, but it seems like an overhaul on Ops is the priority for Village to improve everyone’s experience. So maybe Bikash needs to go…
  15. Tell me you don’t know sensible business management without telling me… It’s simple economics mate. Would you invest $1 on something that will give you $1.20 return or something that will give you $3 return? WWW will get the attention it deserves, neither DW or WWW is in a place right now to prioritise WWW over DW.
  16. Don’t you dare threaten that! it’s probably more like Woolies announcing they won’t do the Disney cards again and you refusing to ever buy groceries in the store
  17. Might be a silly question, but what’s the point of water dummy testing on MM? There's no forces in the ride, it’s a vehicle controlled by the driver, even a baby can “drive” it… what are they actually testing? is it just to mimic a full load of passengers from a weight perspective and seeing how the motor handles it?
  18. MW’s parade will be on 3:30pm daily. Feb is a wiser choice imo, although you do risk ride maintenance as mentioned above. As a local I try steer clear of parks in Jan especially in 2025 if both MW and DW have brand new rides open.
  19. Ok this is going to kill my OCD… notice the stickers are on the back of the wrong seats. They show arms pointing inwards Noticed on Theme Park Ogre’s YT video, the lever ride ops use to stop the car are on the opposite side now. Looks like boarding & ops will be on the passenger side.
  20. You have no idea how quiet WWW would be weekdays before school holidays. It would cost more to staff than they would make.
  21. I don’t think they’ve given up on WWW, I think it’s a matter of a not now, there’s bigger fish to fry. Both parks are in desperate need of attention and $$$, and you can’t do both at once. When you toss up costs, priorities, earning potentials and likely return from their spend, I totally get why WWW has been parked/less prioritised over DW. To put it simply… in 2023-2024 you have $$$ to spend, so either… 1) Spend $$$ on WWW = $$ return or 2) Spend $$$ on DW = $$$$ return or 3) Spend $ on WWW & $$ on DW = $$$ return Then, in 2025/2026… if you did 1) well you’re further up shit creek and into debt to try fix DW desperately if you did 2) Great! Now you have more $ to spend on WWW if you did 3) you’re back at the start and likely need debt for the remaining $$ required for both parks
  22. Marketing is ramping up & so is (my) confidence in the late-2024 opening as promised: https://www.facebook.com/share/v/1BSMuk9KEX/?mibextid=UalRPS Although it doesn’t look like it in-person, they must be on track for a Boxing Day opening
  23. Ahh well if it keeps crowd sizes that little bit smaller and more enjoyable, I’m all for it!
  24. Strange it says sold out, but you can still buy or redeem tickets for 21st
