Looks great! I have to agree with the others though, how will they incorporate the Mayan theming into an Aussie rainforest? It just doesn’t seem possible to do that. Maybe they will come up with an excuse that the ancient people of Rivertown built a temple for some reason. But in all seriousness, I reckon they can pull it off, however they do it

That’s what I’m trying to say here. Sea World has plenty of animals. I feel like they need a good new water attraction like a slide of some description as they haven’t done that in so long. I also feel like grouping the animals better would help guests know where to go for animals and where to go for rides.

Fair point there. I'm really excited for the reopening, they better have fixed what the people want them to fix, if it goes further downhill i doubt the ride can recover again. A story of going through a town and into a mine or something like that i think, im not sure the exact story though.

So I'm guessing you mean to say that JR will be more similar to Scooby Doo Spooky Coaster: Next Generation? If so, then I feel like we are in for a treat from DW

Good idea. Don't wanna be let down after waiting all this time for a new story ride. I feel like Woz will be a story ride, but I doubt it will be as integral to the ride as JR will be, so lets keep our hopes up, but not too much

There have been rides with stories to them namely Eureka Mountain Mine Ride, Thunder River Rapids, Big Red Car Ride etc, but i doubt you'd count. that last one haha. But yeah, I do know what you mean, this will be a big first for Dreamworld, and the first new story themed ride since who knows how long.

Agreed. Hopefully Jungle Rush somewhat satisfies that need, but I doubt it will be enough. WWF and Scooby tell a story, but it’s just not the same.

I see your point there. I guess not many people want to see a tiny fish, they’ve gone to sea world for the rides and main animals like polar bears, sharks, penguins and stingrays.

There are signs, but i feel like they are not adequate, and its very difficult to determine a certain type of fish.

Although that is true, I would definitely at least like to see a renovation, or an aquarium in the castle with smaller tanks. If that can't happen, maybe more info on the species in shark bay would be nice.

Here are some photos taken from Saturday. Sorry for the poor quality I forgot to turn on cinematic mode. Next time. Anyways, as you can see the props are there, including some old carts from TRR (the green tank thingy). Theming for Jungle rush is being stored there, as well as the old RHLR vehicles. The old Town Of Gold Rush logo is also in the corner, i zoomed it in.

Almost. It’s probably one of the oldest, but not quite opening year, which is a shame. I do not count Dreamworld express as it is a shell of its former self.

They were, but those were back at the vekoma home base. Now we may get a chance to see them at the park! I may be flying a drone over the park tomorrow, so if i do, ill make sure to post any pictures on here for everyone. It will be on this topic.

Looks to me like it may be the coaster trains! It will be so exciting to finally get a good looky at them if they are taken out!

Probably the best thread for this I could find, but we all know its not going to be reopened, however Dreamworld has now updated the site to show this. Rest in peace Vintage cars: 1981-2023. On top of this, Dreamworld has removed any mention of the vintage cars from the Rivertown page, saying things that include "Rivertown will feature a re-theme of a much-loved Dreamworld favourite as Murrissippi Motors" and "Murrissippi Motors will see brand-new vehicles and a completely new and unique driving experience – fun for the entire family." This looks like it was done without much thought, and it's bound to leave a few people confused when they wonder what the Dreamworld favourite was.

For Sure! First a station for the longest roller coaster in Australia at the time, then it sat for a while, then it was an entrance to one of the largest water parks in the country, now its just some toilets. It definitely deserves better, and I feel like they could use it for so much!

That is true. I'm not sure how many people know this, but Flowrider is actually still there. It's weird that they've kept it, unless there's plans to move it to WWW or re open it when the park becomes year round. It would make sense to reopen that entrance when the park opens year round. I do agree that they need to add more rides in that area. Maybe a redevelopment of the old Lazer tag building and Trolls village would bring guests to that side of the park again. There is really no need to close rides to make way for new attractions when they have so much unused space in the park.

I should definitely not expect Dreamworld to remove the Gold Coaster. This may be personal but it is one of the best rides in the park and one of only two major coaster DW has. If anything, i feel they will continue to maintain it for at least ten to fifteen years. However they do need adequate signage as not many tourists know it is in DW and not WWW, as the lines are much emptier than they used to be.

although the flash is good, nothing beats the claw. Not only is it longer, but you feel more free, and you are dangling mid air. The claw also goes further upside down.

I do not have pictures, but for a few days they had the white water world attractions on the park maintenance list as (not positive) temporarily closed. It has since been removed. Just thought that this was the right thread to report this change to. Giant Drop has also since re opened after the short maintenance.

i whole heartedly agree with you. although coast entertainment are starting to try and bring DW back to life, they still have a long way to go.
