  1. Movie World's first batch of attraction maintenance for 2026 has been posted:
  2. Its eh, not sure what I think of it yet. Numerous places on their website it disappears into the background... it needs an outline. The Gold Coast part appears when you scroll down Disappears again Looks a little out of place here... I think it looks weird mostly due to the logo now being longer, old one was a tighter curve and more compact. I assume this change would be less jarring if it was the same size as the old one and was a colour/font update.
  3. Agreed, anyone that's spent time in that queue knows how awful it is. The exact same could be copied over to the ride, the station is exactly the same as Flying Dinosaur, stairs up in the middle of the platform and lockers located under the lift hill as you have to exit the ride that way. Flying Dinosaurs ability to have low waits and extremely impressive dispatches is due to no messing around with loose articles on the platform and that it can run 3 trains using all stations, whereas if HD is operating with three trains expect a long wait (it technically is)... Even briefly when Flying Dinosaur went down for 30 min ish, the ride was back up with one side of the station open still pumping out trains. I visited in Winter, most of the outdoor queue was shaded iirc.
  4. It was like this in January 2025, it's a great system and works really well. It's the typical receipt paper material the size of a business card so stays in your pocket well, no point on the ride did I think I would lose it. A gripe I have with this park is the horrific sightlines... and the operations of Hollywood Dream, they should seriously use some of the gargantuan queue space for the same process as Flying Dinosaur (qr locker, metal detector then up to the station) which would speed up dispatches dramatically it's on par with VRTP operations each side due to the need to wand all 36 riders. Nonetheless it's a cool gimmicky ride but it's butter smooth. I didn't get to ride this earlier this year, it was closed for maintenance, but I've heard great things about the ride. When all seats are being used, the ride has insane capacity 1920rph.. so the wait never really gets over 30 min.
  5. Space Fantasy is currently temporarily closed. Its running with an anime VR "SPYxFAMILY XR Ride" overlay that reduces the rides capacity by half (they only load forward seats)... definitely head there first. IIRC you must ride with the VR headsets on and your not allowed to take them off so unfortunately you dont get to see the amazing sets of the ride.
  6. Sounds like the same thing as last year, a 3 month closure. The rides at the end of its life, I wonder how much time its got left... are they waiting for scooby to reopen? I'd imagine that these parts would be very very expensive due to the limited installations of the model, and it's back to back years now.
  7. Sea World Spooky Nights are back for 2025! This year’s event will run from October 11th – 31st on the following nights: Saturday 11th, Saturday 18th, Friday 24th, Saturday 25th & Friday 31st. Looks to be almost identical to last year except Trident should actually be open this time...
  8. What has gone wrong with Flash... seems like they're doing another train rebuild. (photos jaggs) I wonder if this is why SE is closed...
  9. It's been like that since the teaser was released It's still open now... those lucky security people
  10. The ride is manufactured by Sinorides, and appear to be a chinese company, with a very extensive portfolio. https://www.sinorides.com/360-large-pendulum-rides/ This seems like a complete accident and should be investigated extremely thoroughly because for the ride to snap like that, multiple welds and reinforcements have failed. (This is the smaller model of the ride, i'm assuming the one in the video is the same scaled up as there is a boxy panel covering how it attaches to the axel/swingy bit) The scope of these rides are very very different. One of them is a permanent fixed attraction and the other one looks like it could be moved to a different park each week. King Claw is manufactured by INTAMIN, whereas i've never heard of—and i'm sure no one here has heard of— Sinorides. Most of these gyro swings are manufactured by Zamperla and INTAMIN, both are very reputable companies in the Amusement Ride and Coaster Space. The new one opening at Six flags Qiddiya is Zamperla iirc. It won't stop me from going on gyro swings, I've been on a bunch and always felt safe. But everyone has their own reactions to events like these happening.
  11. I know you know. I just posted that for the people that dont/didnt understand.
  12. Movie World does, they have 7. One in the same spot as Steel Taipans and another 6 (one for each car) Excuse the awful photo (had to mess with the colours so you can see inside)... but it shows how this works, the 2nd wheels run on the metal railings and are pushed by the drive tyers and these are the wheels that run along the rails, the white wheels (hyperia's trains)
  13. Another relatively quiet new coaster is also opening at USJ tomorrow! https://www.usj.co.jp/web/en/us/campaign/snoopy-festival#:~:text=July 18%2C 2025-,Snoopy's Flying Ace Adventure,-One of Snoopy's Its rumoured to be a Vekoma family coaster, but I don't think the layout is known. This is great for a park that desperately needs capacity.
  14. Can second this. Went by on the bus earlier this week and saw Rivals testing the whole time we were stuck in the carpark. Checking the maintenance schedule it seems Superman Escape has shit the bed again and is now closed, hence why they tried to get Rivals reopen sooner.
  15. WOW. Didn't believe it, might have to eat my shoe now. Credit: @Ogre https://youtu.be/A167cee14tY
  16. Yes it is, railing and the few pieces that have arrived, match the concept. (Photo Credit: Gold Coast Theme Parks)
  17. 2 train ops shortens the ride duration in comparison to when they're running one.
  18. Thoughts on MW installing dispatch screens similar to Toutatis or Rapterra to 'help' with dispatches? A part of me thinks it would help if they have realistic fast dispatches as the benchmark however, knowing VRTP they'd pour lots of money into it, fail to maintain the screens and before you know it they're all off and not working.
  19. As soon as Dreamworld gets that one-two punch coaster lineup (they’ve already got the two—Steel Taipan—just need the one), I think Movie World will really need to rethink what they’re doing. Anything on that survey about an app? I didn't receive it. I think that's something the park is missing, I cannot wait for the days when I don't have to walk across the park to find out how long Steel Taipan or Giant Drops waits are, or when I don't have to fiddle with Apple Wallet to get my pass at the front gate. The park map on the website is built using https://attractions.io/maplayr which in theory should allow for an app.
  20. Thats where they already park 1 of the 2 trains. 1 Train in the Station other in the Mech Bay. The park would never purchase another train unless they're replacing one. The cost to add the maintenance infrastructure would be something that VRTP doesn't want to pay for. Additionally from what I've heard at the parks, the ability for a ride to run multiple trains is dependant on how many people are rostered per attraction... once again we all know VRTP likes to keep costs as low as possible.
  21. The rides maintenance had been extended and scheduled to reopen on the monday, same with batwing. Batwing opened at 12:30.
  22. No changes, just didn't open at all on Monday and I heard that it was a bit on off on Tuesday. Park new this and still ran rivals with one train. Full queue, 70 min + wait, single ride queue full, awful dispatches. Good stuff Movie World!
  23. For those of you who are unfamiliar, a block zone is a section of a ride that only one train may occupy at a time. At the end of a block zone there is a method to stop the train, in case the block zone ahead is still occupied. This is the safety system that prevents rollercoaster trains from colliding with one another. The train disengaged from the lift hill and derailed at the top of the hairpin turn, off the beyond vertical drop, meaning that until it cleared the first mid course brake run, the following train wouldn't be able to enter this section and it would stop at the top of the lift hill. At no point could two ride vehicles collide.
  24. I think the work environment is ruined and has been for a long time, nothing new there. I don't agree with his new ride proposals/revamp of the park nor what he thinks a movie theme park is, but I do support the work environment changes, it starts from the top. I feel the same about this, for a while it was just day after day of clickbait titles. Superman escape aligns with the movie theme, it puts us into the story immersively. Batwing worked with Wayne manor beside it as it was an immersive mini land prior to the addition of GL & DC Rivals. Wild West Falls is timeless, despite it being the largest ride in the park and eventually the time will come to replace it. WB Kids worked with the looney tunes ride, but now its showing its age. Green Lantern is essentially a Six Flags ride, DC rivals is similar but the ride experience makes up for it. We've come full circle now Movie World doesn't have any space left without removing existing attractions. This is very true. I don't think Movie World understands the value of their annual pass holders as much as Dreamworld does. We visit the parks off peak and deal with the BS maintenance closures, we spend our money there, we are the backbone of the park during this time. The least they could do is give us some useful perks to show their appreciation. A discount on food/beverages and upchange experiences would be appreciated even if limited to eg, 4 uses per month. Similar to the Dreamworld events, give us after dark events that may come at a small cost on top of the ones already included in our passes. Movie World having extended hours in winter would be perfect. Park doesn't have to be open that late for everyone to get night rides. Renewing my pass is entirely dependent on when Scooby opens & the if the wait was worth it. I have no issues with taking my business up the road.
