  1. it would be pretty reasonable pricing if they had full park availability across all parks. imagine a family of 4 spending $716 on passes, $100+ per day on food and bev, with Sea World having half its attractions currently closed, Scooby Doo & Doomsday closed with who knows what else closed and WoO not open yet, Wet n Wild being ran down. would that be worth around $1200?
  2. i wouldn’t be surprised if the area will open prior to the first night of White Christmas, maybe that’s why the event doesn’t start until the 7th instead of earlier. also, does anyone know how many nights the event is normally on? it seems like there’s fewer dates this year but i could be wrong.
  3. let’s just hope they don’t close the WoO coasters and scooby at the same time, but when Scooby reopens it should balance out maintenance periods a lot more (thank god.)
  4. this will most likely be the entrance used when Superman closes for maintenance just like when Arkham was operating, hopefully they leave it open at all times though.
  5. rides always test at night, let’s just be happy it’s testing now. even if it’s because “they’re behind schedule”, atleast they’re smart with time management.
  6. or maybe they’ll just open motorcoaster and rivertown at the same time? just because one got pushed back doesn’t mean the entire thing did.
  7. ^ i agree, the event definitely improved in quality which explains no new mazes, however i hope next weekend there is more actors especially on main street and the doomsday area. i hope they keep the improvements they made for this year while spending the budget on 5 new mazes next year, even though the ones they had were good (CirCurse was upgraded quite a bit with more actors and smaller groups going through), they were predictable as they’ve been there for years. the encounters also were a great addition.
  8. the ride isn’t closing to february, they then have to take down the whole ride (which will take longer then usual as it’s surrounded by guests paths and the park is open at night two nights a week), they then have to do ground work, electrical, vertical construction, theming, commissioning, and then get it signed off. February - December construction period sounds good. for all we know end of the year could be anytime from September - December.
  9. allegedly, Gumbuya’s “special announcement” was just that they were opening more pools.
  10. if you’re over 5’10, the bulky Zamperla restraints are a no go and it’s very restricting on riders, more so then the current restraints. King Claw will definitely be superior then anything they could’ve gotten from Zamperla.
  11. the park was running both trains on Rivals yesterday, however only one of the trains had the loud clanking noise going up the lift hill. they were testing the ride consistently both early in the morning and then again late at night so i’m sure they’re trying to fix the issue.
  12. maybe the significance to the community is that they are refurbing the ride with new gondola’s which has never been seen before and is now an option to parks with outdated Intamin Gyro models. if it is a new 360° model, i hope it has a non inverting and inverting cycle, i find the hang time the inverting models offer to be uncomfortable and unpleasant.
  13. it’s a 25 minute press conference at a world expo, correct me if i’m wrong but this is the first Australian attraction to be announced in this way. it won’t be a retrofit of The Claw or MC, unless like @DJKostyasaid it’s something never done before like TT2. my guess is it’ll either be a big new coaster, a first of its kind flat ride or something of big significance to the industry.
  14. if it’s being announced at IAAPA i doubt it’s going to be a renovation of an existing ride or a small flat, it will be something noteworthy. my money’s on a big coaster, but we’ll see what happens.
  15. Gold Coaster and Giant Drop have been refurbed in recent years, so i don’t think it’s “their new focus now”, it’s always been an ongoing project. the only two left would be The Claw and Motorcoaster, hopefully both get new restraint systems with whatever upgrade they’re getting.
  16. i believe they just haven’t updated the maze line up, from people who have audition for positions i’ve heard a Beetlejuice maze is happening so who knows. we’ll find out when they start posting announcements im guessing tonight.
  17. last year both Death Row and The Conjuring had a note mentioning that it’s their last years at the park, but in the updated website they are gone so i wonder if they are both returning. However, some years this happens then they start their maze announcements and the old ones are removed, so who knows. however, Beetlejuice is getting its own maze from what i’ve heard and what people here have seen. also, i’m not sure what this exactly is but the new WB horror encounter experiences looks really promising. it includes The Exorcist, The Conjuring 2 “villains” Valak and The Crooked Man, as well as Pennywise.
  18. now this is a concept i could get behind.
  19. if Knotts can fit in Hangtime in a boomerang plot of land, i’m sure MovieWorld would be able to fit in a coaster in the villains unleashed area.
  20. as far as we know the Villians precinct as a whole is done. they’ve let it to rot and with them “exploring options” for Doomsday, that will be the next attraction area for sure. besides that, they’ll just have to start getting creative.
  21. i feel like i remember Dreamworld confirming plans for 2025 but i may be remembering wrong, however if they go for a water ride, their only option is a water coaster, unless it’s something like a Zamperla Big Wavez. i believe the next addition will be something catering to thrill seekers though when looking at their pattern (Sky Voyager > Steel Taipan > KB Dreamland, DF and Rivertown.) in general i think 2025 will be more of an aesthetic / overall park upgrade year for all the parks. i could see Sea World potentially opening a new ride in the old VR station area since some work has been happening there lately, but who knows.
  22. ^ i agree about the restraints. i’m just at 6ft and they have to fully push it down into my shoulders due to the angle of the restraints. Flash is very mild, whereas forgetting the pain The Claw gives taller riders, it is a far more intense ride with a lot more airtime. redoing The Claw with the new style pendulum restraints would be good though.
  23. it makes me wonder what the maze set up this year will be, they could easily fit six if they wanted too. DCeased in the intencity building, Beetlejuice in showcase, then keep Hellship and Circurse in the same shed with either one big maze in the Conjuring building, or two like previous years. I just hope if Beetlejuice is happening, they don’t go too far into the Comedy to where it gets goofy.
