  1. Ha! Very creative! And well done on getting the actual footprint of the ride correct
  2. I'm just so excited about this ride choice and so very pleased to hear that they may be retaining the show building. Where would we be if it weren't for Village in this country? They truly do make the absolute best ride choices
  3. Wow! Looks like they've made some improvements since the 'flyover'. This is what I was hoping for - that the flyover would not represent the absolute final design. Maybe there's hope for better master blasters too. Just had another thought... it's possible the flyover was created before the model and not after. Here's hoping the model is the latest revision to the plans!
  4. That's the issue. If I was Movie World's marketing manager I would have been going ALL out promoting this thing as a great family ride/experience. After the recent addition of Green Lantern, people were crying out for something all the family can go on. Movie World delivered this. But you'd hardly know it based on the marketing. You'd think it was a failed 'thrill' ride (if you knew it was there at all!!)
  5. I agree with everything you just said. Well put
  6. That would be a terrible outcome for Movie World - especially considering Justice League cost around $9million whereas this Zamperla ride is likely to be significantly less
  7. This Tornado is going to have some serious length! Looks fantastic. Good on them for adding slides with decent ride time that aren't over in 5 seconds. Are you listening Wet 'n' Wild Sydney?
  8. For anyone interested, here is the layout for Justice League, taken from the Sally website. Really cool to see how Sally cleverly squeezed the ride into a relatively small space
  9. I love it when you upload some random pic of a crappy kids coaster Gazza. There are some really bad ones out there apparently
  10. They certainly don't need another spinning flat ride. So why are they adding one? Because it's cheap 'n slutty... oops, I mean easy
  11. I agree. I'm sure the capital spend on this alone would be small enough to NOT classify it as one of their 'big' rides. But this is not surprising as DW are trying to compete with the massive capex Village are spending, but they are doing it in their own cheap way. Naturally they will try and get away with making things sound better than they are
  12. What do you mean by that? Doesn't the Batman narration throughout the ride help tell the story, or is it basically inaudible?
  13. I find it interesting that A] Dreamworld is adding a new big 8 thrill ride in what is supposedly a kids/family area and B] Adding a new thrill ride outside of their normal 3-5 year time frame ie. Buzzsaw was what, only a year ago? Pressure from Village much?
  14. True that! DW likes them because they are generally the cheapest and easiest option. They certainly don't need MORE flats but they are clearly not willing to build new coasters or rides with any length. It seems the Aussie public is still impressed by flats unfortunately - judging by the reception the Claw received. If anything, it's MW that could do with a couple more flats, not DW
  15. Another flat for DW. No surprises there
  16. The nature of a personal review is always subjective isn't it?
  17. That's such a great POV, I'm surprised more people haven't commented on it. Clearly the most obvious thing is how much better the ambient sound effects and narration are in this video compared to the actual ride itself (I'm assuming because Sally added them in in post production?). Is there any actual Batman narration on the ride itself? Or is this still yet to be installed? It certainly helps the ride make more sense. I also noticed most of the animatronics in the city scene are now activated, including the shopkeeper (or whatever he is) actually opening the door. I also really like the giant Starro spore in the spaceship. I hadn't really seen it before and I notice it is animated with proper moving parts. Reminds me of the giant alien at the end of MiB at Universal
  18. And once again we're back to issues with marketing. How frustrating. I'd sack the whole marketing department and re-hire the people they had back in the 90's. Call me harsh if you will
  19. I think it's exactly the sort of ride the park needed. A fun slide suitable for just about everyone
  20. How were the animatronics in the city scenes? Were they functioning properly as in the John Wood video or were they frozen again? And have they activated the pop-out door in the main building in the city scene yet?
  21. Movie World seem to have a real issue in terms of getting their new attractions opened in time and operating effectively
  22. I was just comparing the POV of the ride with John Wood with some of the others and it seems to me like there were far more sound effects (including dialogue and ambient noises) in the John Wood version. It also seemed like there were far more active animatronics and the timing all seemed to be in better synch. Does anyone who has been on the ride recently have any thoughts on this? It'd be a shame if they'd already lost some of the effects!!
  23. Frustrated with Village Roadshow's marketing again - where is the big ad for Constrictor on either the Wet 'n' Wild or themeparks.com.au websites? There should be a huge splash banner saying 'NEW! Constrictor' like they always used to. It seems like a really decent ride but unless you closely followed their facebook page, you wouldn't even know it existed. By the way, has anyone been on it yet? Thoughts? The splashdown looks awesome
  24. Are the Sally reps still around to work on these issues or have they flown back to the US? What about all the inactive animatronics etc. - have they been 'switched on' yet?
  25. Okay that's the bit I was trying to understand. From the video it looked to me like the runout section was just a long straight with no hills. 3 uphill sections would be okay-ish
