  1. It's hard to tell based on the photos so far but I think the flume channel stretches right to the far end of the building before turning to go back to the station. Is that correct?
  2. If that does end up being the layout, I'm surprised they are not making more use of the old show building. Just think about how much it used to contain when it was used for Lassiter's Lost Mine then Bermuda. These were both lengthy rides with numerous large scenes. Obviously, in order to utilise the space in that way, they'd need to go with a typical zig-zagging dark ride track layout. This doesn't appear to be what they're going for based on what we've seen so far.
  3. Very excited about the reference to fire. Work it Sea World!
  4. I don't like the name but I do quite like the logo. In relation to this not being included as part of WB kids, they are probably trying to single it out as a more major individual attraction. Also gives a much needed fleshing out of their kids rides section on the website
  5. That makes me concerned there might not be much of a dark ride section - the ride you posted only goes for a bit over 2 mins. I was hoping this ride might be as long as Bermuda.
  6. Doesn't Movie World already have a mini cars driving ride for kids? I can't help but feel this is a tragic replacement for the River Ride. Looney Tunes was an immersive, highly-themed dark boat ride with a huge amount of animatronics and special effects, plus a unique hidden lift system that elevated the boat and connected it with a water coaster section. It's being replaced by a kids driving 'school'
  7. 'Mini Cars Driving School' - if that's the name of it then Movie World has truly dropped their 'movie' theme. No sign of Looney Tunes either
  8. You seem pretty sure about that! If it does end up being a 'mini drop', couldn't it just be there to add a bit more interest/excitement to the ride?
  9. Gazza you're such a tease. That's just cruel. Oh, Dreamworld - why?
  10. "The multicoloured cone of the 18m-tall DARK TORNADO". Excited Gazza?
  11. I'm looking at pic 24. It looks like it's the back walls of the building - but they look new (the walls on either side of the gap). Hard to tell though without seeing the full site in person. It also looks like they are building the trough for the flume channel right through the middle of the building. I wonder where the other entrance/exit will be
  12. Love that you got so many pics of the show building interior. Is it my imagination or have they constructed an entire new concrete wall on one side of the building?
  13. Thanks so much! So glad we have someone who is willing to keep us regularly updated on construction. I'm looking forward to seeing one of the more interesting slides start to come together... tornado is a dime a dozen
  14. Thanks for pointing that out. Looks like green and blue... which would be different to all of the concept images
  15. Thanks for the photos! Looking forward to more updates. Poles and poles and poles...
  16. Smart move. With the amount of new stuff Village has planned this year (and every year it seems now), why on earth would anyone renew their DW/WW pass? For a refurbished laser tag? I'd prefer Sea World's watercoaster. But hey, that's just me
  17. Yeah any price tag with billion after it is valuing Dreamworld just a little too highly
  18. Good one! When I saw the thread title I thought to myself "that's gotta be impossible - surely Ardent aren't actually doing something good"... but April Fools didn't even occur to me.
  19. Thanks for the update! It looks like they are completely getting rid of the 1970s/80s-looking pebblecrete walls and brown roof panels from the old Bermuda show building. That's a good thing - was pretty dated. It looks like the only thing left will be the steel framework of the building. Speaking of which - those black beams at the front look new-ish... or are they just in good condition? Does anyone with construction knowledge know what benefit there was in keeping the bare bones of the building rather than just demolish it all together? I know we've discussed something similar before, but in this case there really seems to be very little of the building left
  20. How awesome are Village!? Another year, another new attraction(s)
  21. Ha! NO chance of Ardent opening another theme park. Ever get the feeling they even resent owning Dreamworld? They are so adverse to capital expenditure. Unlike Village who embrace theme parks
  22. The Movie World map doesn't have Justice League either. Really wish they'd keep their website maps up to date
