  1. I wonder how much time it's got left anyway? These Intamin drop towers are slowly being retired around the world. Anyone getting TOTII limited time refurb vibes?
  2. I wonder why they didn't put the rockwork outside the queue too? Would have looked great on the front facade, rather just most grass and mirrors
  3. It's a shame all those behind the scenes clips last all of 5 seconds
  4. What about before the Giant Drop was installed though, before it was 'Dreamworld Tower'? I can't find any pics of it on Google, but I remember the top of the tower was completely different. I preferred it, it was way more sleek -- but I guess that's because it didn't need to house any drop mechanics. I wonder, did they remove the old tower topper completely or is it hidden somewhere underneath that tin?
  5. Exactly, and those same families are probably the ones with the mums or dads who scream at the poor ride attendants for not letting their child on a ride because they don't meet the height requirements. The fewer of them in the park, the better
  6. For some reason I thought this 'precinct 'was opening next year, not 2024! That will be a 7 year gap between their last new major attraction, Rivals, and this. That's gotta be the longest pause between new rides in MW's history, right? There are a couple of justifications for this, I suppose. One being the significant expense of Rivals, and I guess COVID (although that hasn't stopped OS parks investing)
  7. Not quite sure why the Peppers ghost effect had to die? You wouldn't think that would be too hard to maintain. The one on the final lift hill is really bad too - literally just a badly adjusted screen now
  8. I think Ashley's opinion on this is totally legitimate, and many many people have expressed a similar-ish opinion about this 'precinct' in the past on the forums, so not sure why he's copping it. Having said that, we most definitely can't be comparing to Disney standards when they get, what, 40 million visitors per year or something? But we know VRTP did used to create new attractions of an extremely high standard with extensive thematic elements. They even had an attraction like that in Sea World itself, with the former Lassiter's then Bermuda. But from the sounds of it, the inside of Leviathan's station is promising and a welcome reversal from the nothing stations of GL and Rivals
  9. Today agree. I have also heard that, based on his experience, DW's current CEO is no fan of S&S. Extremely unlikely they will acquire anything from them
  10. Although IT Maze was incredible from my POV. Universal-grade effects and animatronics. Great costumes and sets. Really well done
  11. Vortex had a terrific nighttime lighting package but apparently they can't use it because it was too bright for the ride ops
  12. Totally agree with your post, although I believe the old Gremlins show building was modified in terms of a significant lift to the ceiling height to accomodate the wild mouse section of Scooby. It's a real shame they didn't also expand the JL building - that ride is clearly limited by space
  13. I'd be surprised. Most of these plans would already have been put in place before BGH took over. And mind you, they took over ownership, keeping most of the existing management and executive team in place. They would have had to sign off on some of the planned big capital expenditure, but I think most of this would have been in the planning stages before their arrival on the scene
  14. Yeah not sure why they went with red and white for the Constrictor when even the logo is yellow and red to match the attraction. Dumb
  15. Who do you think will need to be involved in this project though? I wonder if Sally will get involved again? I can't imagine that Movie World has the in-house teams that can handle complicated systems like animatronics etc anymore? Assuming they won't get the same contractor as the Scooby 'upgrade'
  16. Well if that's the case, credit to them. Maybe it was the fact that the state of the ride made a popular international POV channel, which wasn't a great look. Although it seems strange that the bosses weren't aware of the state of the attraction - surely this stuff gets reported. Great to hear about the upgrade. Plenty of work to be done
  17. According to the website, JL is down until December. Should be plenty of time to get lots of this stuff fixed!
  18. I feel powerful 😆. No, but seriously, interesting timing after I just posted that video. Probably a coincidence but you never know
  19. It's been mentioned on this thread what a bad state Justice League is in. Now here's the proof - a recent video which shows just how terrible it is. It's very embarrassing because this video was created by a popular POV channel and has had many thousands of views. As you can see, 90% of the animatronics are either not working or not working properly. The first screen appears to no longer be aligned properly, and three of the screens are blank entirely. The mist curtain and the Green Lantern projection are not working. There is no background audio in the spaceship scene and the Batman narration at the end is missing. From my point of view, this attraction absolutely should not be operating in its current state. I understand the desire to keep things open, but I believe it is doing more harm than good as it currently is
  20. Maybe they are purposely running less cars currently because of the difficulties with evacs when it breaks down? Maybe they will put more cars back on, knowing that it will break down more, but also knowing evacs will now be easier?
  21. What does everyone think is going to go inside the 'Emerald City' facade, if anything? Is that whole area just going to be similar to Doomsday, as somebody mentioned above, where it's all just decoration (and obviously interactives in Doomsday's case)? At the moment there's the old Leathal Weapon pre-show room behind the proposed Emerald City facade, which I guess then joins the old Arkham queue building and eventually the Arkham station
  22. He made some positive comments about attempting to bring some of the magic back, so that is a promising start
  23. As we know they definitely competed strongly with MW back in the day. And why would people choose DW over MW back then? Pretty much it was because of the large ride line-up. We've got the opposite situation now where the line-up is absolutely lacklustre. Glad to see the owners are acknowledging the need for new rides and attractions. Can't come soon enough. And I'm definitely a +1 for new water ride/s
  24. On another note, there was concern earlier in this thread that the new coaster was going to be a Vekoma suspended family, but why is this the assumption? And how would you feel if it's a Vekoma suspended thrill?
