Okay, I found some pictures of the 'Tornado' ride... Problem is, the page isn't English. (Deutsch I'm guessing). But it looks just like a cross between say a Screamin' Swing and Speed/No Limit... Here
-
Anyone who goes to Wet'N'Wild HAS to try the speed slides on Mach 5... The two outer ones look tamer, but you get launched over the last drop, awesome feeling! I have no idea how, but one of my friends managed to rip a nice hole in his new pants on them.
-
Most people who already have it in Australia would either know someone in the industry or have a chip that allows them to play backups... I\'m not sure whether it\'s out in Europe yet, but they could\'ve imported it from there too... I thought it was out though!
-
Pretty decent game, had it for a few months but haven't played much because the Wii is on the TV parents are always using for news etc. We've got a nice LCD but it's apparently 'too good' for it...

Just a side note on maintenance... Why will the Tower of Terror be closed for the 19th of December? Seems strange to shut for only one day... It would be nice to see the mine ride re-open, it was a good alternative to the 'larger' rides back in the day, despite its nature. Then again, if they ripped it out and did something new I wouldn't be complaining... A completely new dark-ride/coaster would be pretty cool!

The Tornado Alley looks pretty sweet, short, but should be great! The mammoths look insane too! Hopefully one's enclosed and one isn't. Having two identical slides is a waste IMO. I dunno if it'd become the best waterpark in the world, but it'd sure come close... And what better place to have it? Well I guess this justifies things on Dreamworld's part, but I reckon WhiteWater World will get the funding to keep up competition. Heaps of my friends from school have said when they overhear us talking about WWW, "It's crap, don't go there you get bored too quickly." They also think of Dreamworld being way better than Movieworld though, so I guess it doesn't count, but that's the general public for you.

Xecuter Australia are the way to go for Wii case mods... Some impressive stuff, but I don't want to open my Wii again in-case I wreck the screw heads. I've heard playing DVD's on the Wii wrecks the laser, as it's not meant for extended use... But hey! Go for it!

Hence why I have a WiiKey... I wouldn't call the Wii a 'Gaming Experience'. Not in that sense anyway...
-
Explain. I never knew you could copy games onto a PS3... There are decent games for the Wii, there's just so many poor ones it's not funny. It's cheap to produce games for, and arguably has the largest audience. Therefore, you're always going to end up with a load of dodgy titles.

I did mine myself, but took it to an installer because I wasn't satisfied with my job as it didn't work 100% of the time. There are different types of consoles. If you have a later model, with the 'D2C' chipset, you'll need a special chip called 'D2CKey' which has about 30 wires as opposed to normal chips that only have 6-8 wires. You can get a fairly accurate estimate of your chipset here. It depends where you buy your chip, some internet stores charge a fair bit for a genuine WiiKey. There are imitations out there, but so far they're almost as good as the real thing. If you google for 'Wii Modchip Install' or 'WiiKey Install' you should find something. There's plenty of information out there if you're willing to look! EDIT: XBOX 360's don't even need modchips, you can fool the copy protection with a cable and an old computer. PS3's can play burnt PS2 and PS games simply by swapping the disc while it's running. (Without pressing eject, you need to remove the case). They're getting more secure, but all I needed to open my Wii was a special screwdriver.
-
At this point in time, the only use for a WiiKey, or any Wii modchip is to play burnt copies. Hopefully in the near future, it will be possible to run 'homebrew' software using one, but most of the stuff on the Wii is encrypted and is yet to be broken. You can use 'homebrew' software made for the Gamecube though. It's debatable whether they are legal or not, in Australia it's frowned upon but nothing like in America, people who install them for others' houses have been raided and all sorts. It's fun to get games early, and if you can remove the chip without leaving any traces then you might be able to claim warranty. I damaged a few screws opening mine, so I've gotta hope for the best, but it's probably not hard to get replacements. If you're technically minded, it's probably worth it provided they don't suddenly crack down on piracy, but you have to make sure you don't install updates from other regions etc. I don't regret having one a single bit. EDIT: And they are easily detectable, all they'd need to do is try to run 'unsigned' code. Normally this wouldn't execute, but if a chip was present, it would be able to run.

Sounds good, but it's a bit of a shame that you can't even get say half-price if you own an annual pass.
-
You mentioned a ZacSpin, and someone else said we need more dark coasters... What about an indoor one? They look like a cool concept, but I'd have to say I wouldn't get excited unless it was a decent sized one... Don't you think it'd be cool flipping around in the dark and/or with lights and music? (Might be too much like Scooby Doo though).

They're strange little things, I kinda prefer my 3rd party ones, but these were free so I ordered anyway! Took around 10 days to arrive, unlike my wrist-straps which took 30+ days and then some idiot stole them out of my mailbox... Oh, and I'm not sure if I should say this, edit it if needed, but I got a WiiKey (try Google) installed and it works a treat! I'm currently playing Super Mario Galaxy and Metroid Prime 3: Corruption. Full region free for Gamecube and partial support for Wii. Only about $75 for the chip and installation, saved me a damn lot of money! (I tried to install myself, but had a few 'glitches' so I took it to a 'professional').

That reminds me, weren't they supposed to install some fan-dangled on-ride video system...? Was this ever planned or just people taking wild guesses?
-
Congrats Robb! You finally posted some pictures without blatant advertising! xD *Please don't take offense* Looks like one hell of a time, damn we need something like that. I'll check out the video later too...

I had sore thighs when I got off the ride, and I definitely felt the restraints tighten under the force of the launch, but the pain was short-lived and I didn't really mind it... Much better than a lasting headache/earache!
-
Confirmed! We didn't have to pay the extra amount thank god! *Off Topic* Wasn't too crowded, Doohan was an hour wait... They drained all the water from Wipeout! Few two dollar coins the ops pocketed at the end of the day.
-
Okay, so I bought myself the Max Action Platinum pass a few months ago. I figured I should get it before I turn fourteen, that way I don't have to pay the huge difference for an 'adult' pass. My friend also bought one about a week before his birthday under this assumption. Another person I was talking to is thinking about buying one, their parents contacted Dreamworld, and they were told that if they visit after turning fourteen with a 'child' pass they have to pay the difference in order to use it? Can anyone confirm this? If it's true, that really, REALLY sucks! Thanks! *End of Rant*

I don't know how you do that! I've hardly ever managed to complete a 'project' in NoLimits... and if I do it goes straight to the trash anyway... I know everyone says the best way to learn is by experimenting, but it just doesn't work for me! Oh, and great design by the way! I'd love to see some concept drawings etc for these rides!
-
Nope it's definitely open, rode them yesterday! They've got signage and all, maybe it's not a 'big enough' ride to advertise? Didn't excite me that much...

I'll definitely be there, even though I only went yesterday! -
The 'Little Rippers' were operating today. In the morning only one was going, but they got the other running soon after... They're fun, but nothing compared to The Rip. The thing I found strange was that you can still use either one person or two person tubes... The loading areas get pretty congested with all the other slides there too... Off topic, Whitewater World was deserted... Some people got stuck in The Green Room just before the drop, they were there for a good half an hour, we were all told to come back later as they had 'water pressure difficulites'. What can they do if people get stuck in slides etc like that?
-
So are the new bowls open? I'm going tomorrow!

Rang Dreamworld today, apparently the motocoaster won't open till next month, but the bowl slides at WWW should be open in a week or so... Sorry if this has already been mentioned.
