Meaning, they have a quote from the source (even though they don't identify who he is). -

Used yes. I'm sure they wouldn't just not ask permission. -

... since they've quoted the source, they haven't ripped them off. As if they would anyway... the owner of the site obviously is a Gold Coast local who would have a very high chance of seeing or being told about the pics being used. -
New Shrek 3 Stage Show & New Western Show
Gold Coaster replied to mattcrombie's topic in Theme Park Discussion
Shrek always has jokes/references that only adults would get - can't see this being any different, they'd want to keep the show in the same spirit. Looking forward to it anyway. -

Shh Ash, we don't want to hear about what goes in on the dungeon in your house -
New Shrek 3 Stage Show & New Western Show

I have loved Shrek 4D since doing it at Universal Orlando but it's kinda weird how you go from a dungeon to watching something in a theatre. It doesn't quite mesh for me. -
Eureka Mountain Mine Ride Maintenance
Gold Coaster replied to Drewboy's topic in Theme Park Discussion
It's cringe-worthy that DW has allowed Eureka to fall into disrepair, it's such a great ride that people often forget about. I really do hope that it reopens soon or at least is replaced with something instead of just being an eating/seating area. -
New Shrek 3 Stage Show & New Western Show
Gold Coaster replied to mattcrombie's topic in Theme Park Discussion
I don't think it's that much. It's maybe 5-10 minutes preshow then the actual show itself is probably only about 10 mins. Don't think it's any longer. The Shrek live show is only for a limited time I think - the email newsletter seems to indicate as such. The Western show is the one that's permanent. I like Shrek though so will be good to have a show at the park while it lasts and it's sure to get a good response so I think they will probably end up keeping it. -
Yeah it's really good value. Makes the daily cost much more reasonable.

Name our Tiger Cubs Competition

yep, I put some pretty good suggestions in so am crossing my fingers -
Oh sure but it wouldn't surprise me if they arranged with the producers for this to happen too.

God you're annoying. No one's jumping up and down cheering just because they mention/want to watch a park that's shown on TV. It's interesting to see how they depict the parks; what they show, what they don't, what is made to look better than it really is etc. and if they can show some behind the scenes stuff or a cool angle or something, all the better It's also just nice to see places we like given the promotion.

SHIRLEY VALENTINE! Well, you DID ask.
-
Yes. I've known this for awhile as we have joint-marketing dealings with the company in the works. Haven't been able to mention it to this point as it wasn't for public knowledge. It's been sad for the company but they have some exciting stuff in store.

Eureka Mountain Mine Ride Maintenance
Gold Coaster replied to Drewboy's topic in Theme Park Discussion
I think it just needs a bit of going over in terms of repairs/repaints etc and adding in a bit of new scenery and whatnot. -
No offence... but you're very hard to please aren't you? I can understand your frustration at lining up an hour and a half but it's still a great ride & you're always going to have to queue for fairly lengthy periods at times. I think a movie ride would work well if it was well done and had an interesting selection of movie scenes to travel through. At least then the park would have a backlot tour-style attraction albeit one that took place in the one building. As much as I love all the thrill rides, something like my idea would help bring more of the Hollywood On The Gold Coast theme back.

Yeah. Like The Great Movie Ride at Disney-MGM Studios. Something like that would be pretty cool.

You found Buzz Lightyear good but MIB boring? I'm undecided as to whether I like one over the other but don't see how you could like one and hate the other when they're both the same kind of ride and each done quite well. That point whoring must have been fun though! Hahaha.

Eureka Mountain Mine Ride Maintenance

Yeah I don't want them to replace the Rapids Ride with something else but think some new elements or a retheming would be fantastic. Maybe use the Snowy River theme Wonderland adopted or something or something just generically adventure-ish. The Log Ride needs stuff added too. It's a fun experience but could be so much better. -
ET's fantastic. They've replicated the bike sequence of the movie very well. It's a lot of fun going through the woods being chased by the astronauts with ET in the basket in front of you. Then you fly over a miniature of the town (like you're high up) and past the moon like that well-known shot (and you see your shadow over it). But they extend the sequence beyond the movie's to include his home planet which has really lush vegetation and different creatures. Kind of a Booster Bicycle ride I would strongly disagree with you saying Universal Orlando's the worst park (and would be interested to know which parks you have been to). Operations is Operations so if it's a quieter day/evening, I can understand why they might open things later to require less staff. Even parks with a huge number of people coming in through the gates need to save money somehow. The theming is absolutely fantastic. While Hollywood has the backlot, Orlando has lots of different environments to enjoy. You feel like you're on Sunset Boulevard or in San Francisco, Amity, a (yellow cab-less and not quite as pedestrian-clogged) New York, whatever... and Mel's Drive-In is cool. And though I wish it had been a coaster or at least a ride like Spiderman over at IoA, BTTF was not a terrible ride and I quite liked the nature of it; well-executed too! Jaws was fun too, much improved on just having the shark lurch up next to the tram as in Hollywood. MIB sucked? Sorry, but no... that's one of the most fun rides I've done along with the Disney Buzz Lightyear version. Earthquake's a bit dated but still fun. Shrek sucked because you'd been on its clone? LOL. Still makes it a good ride. I'm really glad they mirrored it so well. While I think IoA craps over the studio park in a lot of ways, Universal Orlando's theming and varied ride experiences still place it high on my list.

It's just a harmless bit of trivia that most people wouldn't have seen. It's not an 'oh my god oh my god! BB mentioned WWW! roflcopter! lolllllzzzz', it's more 'I wonder if DW asked Big Brother to get a housemate to drop the name of the waterpark as free advertising'.

You can say that again. You can say that again.

Here's a site I haven't seen before: http://sims.themagical.nl/ It has Disney ride simulators for the Tower of Terror, Space Mountain, Big Thunder Mountain & Phantom Manor. A little bit difficult but then, working out what to do is half the fun. My favourite so far is the Tower of Terror one being a big fan of that ride. Anyway, say how you go and recommend any other ones you know whether downloadable or online.

... caught it a few seconds in. Yeah, it was quite good - but no Rip and didn't mention Temple of Huey either. Nor was the Cave of Waves mentioned but they showed it from a few angles... I think they could have cut down on the time showing Pipeline Plunge/Wiggles Bay slightly to show the other couple of things.

Yeah. As long as you're in the correct riding position, Zipper is one of the best and most intense experiences (in terms of flipping) I feel. Will miss getting to go to the EKKA/Gold Coast show this year because of doing those TPR trips... anyone know dates for the regional shows? Worse comes to worse, I'll come back via Melbourne or Adelaide for those shows.
