  1. About time! I've wanted an on-ride photo from Corkscrew for ages... where do you buy the photo from?
  2. Yeah all the characters are replaced by cardboard cutouts and instead of riding the coasters, you sit down at a computer and can take your pick between a NoLimits or a Rollercoaster Tycoon version...
  3. They don't have the pipes belching steam anymore though. But I think it's fantastic they are putting the effort in freshening things up, well done. Hopefully the next attraction will see a return to a continuation of theming excellence.
  4. Just a quick TV alert - Hollywood Stunt Driver will be featured on Getaway tonight. 7:30pm Channel 9, QLD time. Check your local guides... Should be good.
  5. ^ Yeah pretty sure you have to. Much as Boot Hill is fun and has its charm, I agree removing that and the store facades would be an excellent space freeing move. You could relocate the graves to the bank near the splashdown of WWF anyway. Maybe a shooting dark ride through a ghost town or something scifi themed like MIB/ Buzz Lightyear Astro Blasters?? I do know the park has a great interest in those...
  6. No Gazza, please make it 75%, that's the best I can afford at the moment and I want to go get my fill of upcharge attractions and the inferior motorcycle coaster!!
  7. Particularly when you're staying in the old wing of Hotel Breakers, arrive with the county's power off and have to negotiate the hallways with a torch! SFMM has some great coasters, CP has a brilliant atmosphere and the resort. I couldn't choose between them easily but guess I'd go for the Californian park because of Tatsu.
  8. It's on again tonight - 9:30pm here in Queensland. Check your electronic program guide or www.foxtel.com.au for local timing... will be tuning in.
  9. ^ Themed to AC/DC maybe Hehe Like I've mentioned before in the past, a shooting dark ride would be great and could have the right combination of thrills (through optional spinning etc) and broad family appeal. EDIT: ^ And the Aquatrax could be themed to Numa Numa. That would be the best ride ever!
  10. It would be an excellent choice. With the benefit of some good theming, random spouts (like at California Adventure's), spectator-operated water cannons, MW would do themselves proud.
  11. Exactly...something low to the ground with some theming and landscaping... help take some load off the other slides and it'll be in the style we want.
  12. *eerie musical sting plays* *wolves howl*
  13. That's why "God" invented Qbots! I'll be there in August. My friend Matt & I are meeting up in Orlando for a couple of weeks but I'll hit LA/some East Coast parks before or after that. Originally we were going to be in May for my birthday but opted to go a few months later to make it easier to save up in time and make it coincide with his instead. But this way, I'll definitely get to do -- Terminator Hollywood Rip Ride Rock It Manta And being that I haven't done Expedition Everest yet and might even throw in a visit to Belmont Park, Legoland and Pacific Park, that's quite a lot of new coasters to enjoy.
  14. ^ Australian first for a theme park that is and another way to increase per capita spending.
  15. I know what they'll do - a barber shop - that way they can announce it as an Australian first and that it will be the first in a line of things adopted from/inspired by Magic Kingdom that aren't rides or decent attractions. After that, bathrooms with identical wall tiles/colours, What A Swell Party This Is being performed down the Midway & a bronze statue of Stephen Gregg hugging Kenny Koala.
  16. The next ride should be Jet Rescue Rescue in which you must release the pressure from a rollercoaster to get it working again by shooting through a maintenance shed ...
  17. Kenny Koala?? Yeah I wouldn't trust him either. I mean... just look at him:
  18. And we've covered this before -- RACQ/RACV members have the right to some membership perks. It's not like your day will be ruined if you don't have Early Entry but now you have the chance to experience it yourself for not-too-high-a-fee really. I don't buy much stuff on a park visit anyway so if this gets some extra rides so be it. Can't see too many people bothering with this when they can buy Q4Us though!
  19. Oops. I'd forgotten about all that going in (did say COMPACT though, have seen some small family ones in the States). Shame - it would be one of the best spots if developed properly. The sooner Sydney gets a proper park the better!
  20. You quoted that but I'd already taken it from my post 5 minutes earlier. We'd done a Mack Bobsleds at King's Dominion - Avalanche, that's what I meant. We WALKED the layout of Flying Turns though...well, up then ran DOWN it pretending to be a coaster car hehe Does that count?
  21. Brent, I'm sure you'd agree with me that even something like Knoebbel's Phoenix would be a more than worthy addition to any of our parks. Something like Maverick would be nice but I feel more in the need of a woodie than anything else. If it has to be compact, fine, but let's get one that packs a punch and has surprising amounts of airtime like that one does. So long as it's not one of those Volare deathtraps hey! *shudder* Talk about a Zipper-on-coaster-track! ----------------->
