  1. How long are the white lions staying at Dreamworld? Wonder what the exhibit will be used for after, it seems as though a lot of effort/expenditure has gone into it.
  2. I would refer to this link for the most accurate and up to date plans. According to that image all the rides have a designated pool, I guess, for each of the slides. The river towards the north of the park where the zip line finishes is referred to as a "extreme river", whilst the river towards the interactive kids area is a more traditional lazy river, incorporating waterfalls etc. What appears to be a river on the left side of the wave pool is actually refered to as a 'water walkway with interactive sprays'. http://majorprojects.planning.nsw.gov.au/f...rawings%201.pdf
  3. The ride is up and completed. Apparently the park has spent $2 million on the two attractions, with the second (pressumed log ride) expected opening to be in September. http://www.sunshinecoastdaily.com.au/story...-fans-sunshine/ AUSSIE World hopes to attract older visitors with the introduction of a new thrill ride. The Giant Redback will be opened to the public on April 1, with the Palmview theme park confident it will lure more visitors. Following a special preview of the ride yesterday, Aussie World general manager David Thompson said the ride was part of a concerted push to broaden the venue’s appeal. As part of that effort, Mr Thompson said a “huge” new family ride would be launched in September. Aussie World had spent $2 million on securing the new rides. “Our ride demographic used to be two to eight. Then it used to be two to 12,” he said. “With the addition of some rides, it now gives us further opportunity to grow our age demographic.” It was essential, Mr Thompson said, that Aussie World continued to cater for its customers as they got older. “We need bigger rides in the park and this is certainly a bigger ride … we’re investing in our future,” Mr Thompson said. Mr Thompson said the Giant Redback was not the biggest thrill ride going around, but would be the biggest adrenaline-rush ride at Aussie World. He said the bid to attract more visitors was part of a push to help build tourism on the Sunshine Coast and be “positive about it”. Like most tourism operators on the Coast, he said Aussie World had struggled in December and January due to the wet weather and floods. For the first time in a decade, the venue did not record a spike in visitors during that period. However, the business rebounded by recording a 2% rise in visitor numbers in February compared to the same month last year. Despite the failure to record growth in December and January, Mr Thompson said one of the business’ other assets, the Ettamogah Pub, enjoyed “booming” trade over that period.
  4. oops, sorry I'll redo the links now. Just copied them from my post from another forum that I post on. Also here is a recent article: http://blacktown-advocate.whereilive.com.a...nto-the-future/ THE Wet `n’ Wild amusement park slated for Prospect will be the largest of its kind in Australia - now the plans are out for how it could look when the doors are opened in time for summer next year. The vision for the $80 million water park was released last week and residents will now have one month to comment on the proposed plans. It will boast a number of exciting new rides including the Double Aqualoop, Freeloop and Freefall slides and become home to Australia’s largest man-made beach with a massive wave pool set to become the signature centrepiece of the park. Project director Chris Warhurst told the Advocate last week Wet `n’ Wild Prospect would become the benchmark for amusement parks both here and overseas. Opening day has also been brought one year ahead of schedule, signalling confidence the massive development will get the seal of approval in time from the State Government and residents living in the Blacktown City Council area. ``We have undertaken a significant amount of work to make sure we create a fantastic attraction for Sydney,’’ Mr Warhurst said. ``It won’t go down the same path Wonderland did - this is our business and we are supremely confident in its future here at Prospect.’‘ The enormous development will be constructed on a 25-hectare parcel of land, creating about 300 construction jobs and a further 278 permanent positions once operational. The park is tipped to spark a tourist boom for the area with an estimated $350 million cash injection into the local economy in the first ten years of trade. ============================================================= Opening date expected around September next year I think. The park will be seasonal so closed in the winter months.
