It is fairly common to read newspaper reports about accidents involving a death, unless the person is confirmed dead at the scene (in the opinion of the attending ambulance officers there is no chance of revival), you will very rarely see "died on route to hospital" but more commonly "died at hospital". This is because the majority of ambulance officers are not qualified to pronounce death and what they will do will perform CPR on the patient until they arrive at the hospital where a qualified doctor will pronounce the death. Before anyone says that that is a load of crap I heard that directly from an ambulance officer. "The Bus is now leaving for Ambulance Ground, South Australia"

should DreamWorld bring in a new ride for the hoildays?
Bussy replied to LunaParkFanatic's topic in Theme Park Discussion
Why would they bother? To me it would be a bad thing for the park because they would probably place an extra charge for the ride and this would discourage people from using it. Remember it cost about $60 per person to get into the park as it is, plus food, drinks and merchandise. For a family it is an expensive day out and any extra cost would be frowned upon by the public. This happened on several occasions. I remember the last one where one of the maintenance guys left a shifter on one of the seats of cabin 3 and again it came off during the test run by the operator. It left a crater about 10cm long and about 1-2cm deep in the concrete, it also left a brown mark in the operator’s pants. The reason that the cabins would drop at fairly random times (ie not when the countdown got to zero) was because if one cabin reached the sensor near the top earlier that the other cabins it would trigger the countdown. This happened for various reasons, mainly due to weight. If two cabins were sent up, one with 4 kids the other with 4 adults, the one with the kids would get up faster and trigger the countdown so that when the other cabin got there it might already be a 4 and by the time the cabin is in release position the countdown has already finished. Being and operator it was always good fun to hit the effects button as the cabins got to the top, this turned off the countdown and usually made the people think the ride had broken down. Usually we would make comments like "please remain calm and we will have you down soon" just before the cabins released. The other funny thing was to hit the effects button just before launch so that the air cannons (when they worked) went off just as the cabins started moving. Breaking News: Dreamworld to build world class water park
Bussy replied to Richard's topic in Theme Park Discussion
I believe the wave pool they showed was the one at Sunway. The footage was of a surfer riding a 4' wave for a while, the background looked very similar to the photos of the place I just googled and I’m guessing there aren't too many wave pools with the 'carved' stone surrounds in Malaysia. Breaking News: Dreamworld to build world class water park

This was on Channel 7 10:30 news this morning. I managed to type it up when it was on. "The Bus is now leaving for 7 Mile Pool, Western Australia" -
And if he had done that it would have been another white elephant for the government. Personally I would much rather see 36,000 jobs in Sydney's west than a few hundred. "The Bus is now leaving for Jobelda Gnamma Hole, Western Australia"

It's a joke. It is a park hence the name of the website. If you take a drive past the site there are banners up along the fence with the name of the park, the name of the contact person and the companies involved in the site. It's a shame but I think some people don't understand a joke when they see it. Boo hoo hoo. I think most people did get the joke and if you look at the thread there are only two or three people who didn't get it. As for the actual Wonderland site they are busy levelling out the site and bringing in fill to do this. Most of the trees from the Wildlife Park end have been taken down and are sitting in piles as wood chips. The funny thing is that there are probably only two things still standing in the park from when it was open, the lightning rod behind Zodiac and the puppet tree thing that was in the top of HB, then in the top of the WLP everything around it has been levelled. Interchange Park, formally Wonderland Sydney sits right at the intersection of the M7, M4 and Wallgrove Rd. If you look at the link in my previous post you will see Wonderland Sydney in the top right of the concept picture. "The Bus is now leaving for Picture Point, Victoria"

It probably looks like that because the M7 (new motorway) M4 and Wallgrove rd exchange looks like that. Have a look at Westlink M7's website to see what I mean. "The Bus is now leaving for Lighthorse Park, NSW"

Here is a link for Sydney's newest park. It will be replacing Wonderland, physically. There is nothing on the site at the moment but there will be soon. New Park. "The Bus is now leaving for Crafers Interchange, South Australia"

Great photos there wonderland. I was told that the cable from SkyRider snapped several times while it was being used to pull down Bush Beast and in the end the bulldozer drivers said stuff it and just drove through the supports with the structure coming down behind them. Feel free to use any of my photos. "The Bus is now leaving for Snap Creek, Victoria"

It's interesting that you chose Beastie as one of your top ten Dragon, considering it is a clone and just about every Paramount park has one (same with Bush Beast). But I guess you can only vote for what you have been on. "The Bus is now leaving for Dragon Tree Soak, Western Australia" -
Piles of debris are all that is left. Last time I took a drive past there the car park was being torn up and a lot of the trees from the top of the wildlife park/HB were being mulched. "The Bus is now leaving for Mulchara Park, NSW"

There is a new show on 10 called the Ronnie Jones 1/2 hour, it’s a very funny show but there is one send up of Mark 'Chopper' Reed which in the last two weeks (the only 2 episodes so far) contained more of the word "f*#k" than the entire BB series (what was shown anyway), and that is in a 2-3 min skit in a half hour show. Personally I couldn't care less what is said on TV because you hear it on the street anyway and if you don't like it do as the 'good taste pony' says "maybe you shouldn't be watching. Could this be the next big thing? New theme park. "The Bus is now leaving for Tacky Creek, Tasmania"

I'm suprised no one has posted this before now. I'm only going to post the links so you can have a look yourself. The last link makes for interesting reading. Sydney Skywalk Sydney Skytour SMH SMH News.com.au Do you think its overpriced? Getaway had a segment about it tonight, Catriona was crapping herself. I personally think a resonable amount is around the $80 mark. "The Bus is now leaving for Skye-High, NSW"

They were seeing if using dynamite would dislodge cement that had set inside the barrel of the truck. They ended up taking it out to a quarry and getting the FBI to pack it with explosives and then detonate it. They were at least a mile away when it went off and they felt the shockwave from it. Needless to say there was very little left of the truck. I think that this should be taken to another forum. "The Bus is now leaving for Cement Tank, Western Australia"

One post for the price of two, way to go. Why bring up old threads? This one was long dead and buried and the 'rumour' quashed. "The Bus is now leaving for Burying Ground Creek, NSW"

Having worked in the industry for several years I can tell you that the vast majority or rides (99.9%) are run in automatic mode and the majority of operators are not shown how to operate in manual because there is no need for them to know. Those staffing levels seem to be very high and I'm sure DW could cut operating costs and keep safety at the level it's at by reducing them, but that’s not the topic here. All rides are one for two button operation, and I can tell you that the pay is not that good. "The Bus is now leaving for Big Button Grass, Tasmania"

Do you really think that it has taken this long for Intamin to do an inspection? If they or someone from DW's maintenance department found a missing bolt don't you think they would replace it? "The Bus is now leaving for Bolts Landing, South Australia"

Why look in a book when you can look at the website? The 'other' Big Pineapple is on the Bruce Highway at Gympie. Last time I was past there the servo that it was attached to was closed and had a fence up around it. "The Bus is now leaving for Bruce Chick Conservation Park, NSW"

A quick update on the parks status. I drove past there on the weekend and the only things that are visible are the SkyRider towers and the Beach Tower. Everything else in the park has been raised except for a few small buildings. "The Bus is now leaving for Numjikompita Radio Communications Tower, South Australia"
