I can neither confirm or deny this recollection. "The Bus is now leaving for Collector, NSW"

Remember those spaces after the full stops. Remember the capitals at the beginning of those sentences. I haven't tortured any small animals since last night thank you very much. Big animals, now that's another story. "The Bus is now leaving for Torture Gully, NSW"

The 'bend' on Space Probe was not visible and I think it would have been in the range of 1-5 degrees. Although it is not very much it was enough to force the construction of the tower to be moved to the night. I often stood inside the launch area looking directly up and the tower and it appeared to sway but that was because it is difficult to stand on the spot and look straight up at something in the distance and be able to keep your balance. The seatbelts from Bounty's were aircraft rated. There was some talk about 18 months before close into if they were required or not. After a lot of discussion it was decided that they would be retained. The main reason was that although not necessary they gave riders a sense of comfort, particularly the parents of younger children. My personal opinion is that they should have been removed as they were redundant and they could add up to a minute on to a cycle time. If I saw anyone with their knees up while the lap bars came down or they had a big gap between their legs and the padding I would immediately go and press the button to bring the bars down again. I would do this without warning. If anyone still had a gap I would do it again. After that It would be 'thanks for coming now get off my ride', and I did that quite a few times. There is nothing like kicking someone off a ride especially if they had been waiting for 30 minutes or so. I'm not sure if it has happened recently or not but during the first weeks of Luna Park opening they had a problem with Ranger. On at least two occasions the lap bars opened mid-cycle. The first time was before the park opened during a training session. The second while people were on the ride, thankfully it was only one row that opened and there were no people in that row. The problem with most coasters with multiple trains is that it would be very difficult to identify an unusual noise because the noise from the ride would be near to constant. The other thing is while the train is entering and leaving the station there is no stress on the wheels and therefore the noise may not happen and it wouldn't be until the ride got some speed up that it could be heard. It is hard to day whether or not I would hit the e-stop because I have only operated Demon and Bush Beast and was very familiar with the sounds and idiosyncrasies of it. But a new operator might think that something is wrong when there is not. In all probability I would not hit the e-stop but would shut the ride down when it got back so that maintenance could check it out, if they blow up at me I don't care, but then again it might be something. That was a big problem with Snowy you hit the e-stop and the boat still makes it around to the bottom of the lift. So if you hit it because there was a serious incident (someone falling in) it wouldn't make much of a difference because they would probably drown from getting stuck under a boat. Don't think, know. I too have a real car but it's kind of hard to do 200Km/h or more anywhere but on a race track and that cost a load more than the PSP and game combined. Don't worry the DS has yet another Mario spin off available. How far can they go with that? Nintendo Game Boy 18S and Mario Vs Luigi Vs Wario Vs Princess whoever Vs that Mushroom thing. Do you see what I am getting at? The success of all gaming systems relies on what people know. The brand and the games. If it wasn't for the Mario series where would Nintendo be? If it wasn't for Sonic where would Sega be, ok they have died but they were there for a long time. And it's the same with PlayStation, if it wasn't for Gran Turismo do you think it would have been as successful? "The Bus is now leaving for Gran West Stud, NSW"

Why would you even post that question here? Surely if you are having problems with a site you would contact that site. Is it just me or would that be the logical way of thinking? "The Bus is now leaving for Contact Cove, Tasmania"

Alex your criticism of Sunway on this topic is unfounded. All of the gondolas were re-painted. I witnessed them doing some of them. The idiots painted some of the blue and red ones white instead of paining them purple and yellow. This was evident after having morons peeling the paint off to reveal what colour they were previously. All the gondolas are still in place and the arms sit horizontal. It is going to be a bitch of a job pulling the ride apart because of the height and that it has probably seized up. "The Bus is now leaving for Mount Critic Yard, South Australia"

The problem they would have had during construction was the sections of tower misaligning with each other and that is why it was done at night. Next time you are on a train look at the tracks next to you. If you are in Sydney this shouldn't be a problem as the trains have a nasty habit of stopping for no reason. Every so often there is a gap in the track, the gap is about an inch wide, and as the heat increases the gap gets smaller. If it gets too hot, over 35C usually, the tracks will start to bend because the gaps have gone and the metal has to expand somewhere. "The Bus is now leaving for The Little Gap, NSW"

There is one thing all theme parks around the world have in common. It's not the rides or the themeing or anything like that it's the fact that people are stupid. People lose all perspective of what is dangerous and what is not. Standing up on a coaster is like walking along train track, chances are you will be ok but there is always a chance something will go wrong and when it does it is usually catastrophic. Personally I don't think there is such a thing as a redundant safety system on a ride. If it's on the ride it's there for a reason. "The Bus is now leaving for Cape Catastrophe, South Australia"

There is a time and a place for the e-stop. There is sometimes a fine line between over reacting and not being cautious enough. Again after operating Demon thousands of times it is sometimes hard to tell the difference between a wheel that has lost all or part of its tread and something else. Also inexperienced operators may not pick up there is a strange sound until it is too late. Luckily a de-laminated wheel is nothing to worry about. Are you serious? GT is the best simulator that has and probably ever will exist. It's got something like 700 different cars each with true to life characteristics. I can't remember the exact number of track but it's close to 100. Note my use of the word simulator not game. And the DS a beefed up 80's Donkey Kong hand held dual screen game. I never thought about it being a night job. But it makes sense because it was put up at night too. The maintenance supervisor who was in charge of putting it up once told me that they had a real big problem with the construction during the day because the tower actually follows the sun throughout the day, not by much but enough to cause a few issues. What I am saying is that I find it strange that a park like Disney would outsource such a vital part of operations. I didn't mean it that way and you know it. It's like if you have to replace tyres on you car, because they are new you have more confidence in them, but that confidence may not be founded. Unfortunately this is one of the worst situations an operator can be in. The feeling you get when you have to tell 30 or so people on a ride and a hundred or so waiting that the ride will be closed for an indeterminable amount of time is terrible. Everyone blames you but they have no idea that you may have just saved their lives. An example of this is when Demon broke down during bad weather (heavy rain) the train stopped with the last two carriages out of the station and those 8 people got very wet. Once the train was back in the station they were unloaded and told to wait while a test cycle was done. After a successful test they were loaded again and the train stopped in the same place. There were 28 people plus about 80 people waiting who had to be told that the ride had to be closed. Were they impressed or did they understand? Definitely not. Unfortunately the majority of people who go to theme parks leave their brain outside and then go in. They have no idea of the dangers an unusual sound on a ride can have. I don't see how it makes them more money if it's operating. It's not a pay-per-ride park. If anything it will make them more because there will be more people available to spend money on various things. Most operators have absolutely no idea the amount of work that goes into a ride during the various checks it goes through each day. Most of the time the operator will be told very little if anything so they don't tell the guests and un-necessarily alarm them. I have had guest make complaints about me because I have closed a ride down due to my 'hunch', fortunately for me the 'hunches' were always right and something needed to be fixed, be it a wheel that had de-laminated on Demon or a brake fin that had cracked. An unusual noise is something that should be checked ASAP but may not require the whole ride to be shut down. Unless the operator had been advised by the supervisor that the ride was making a strange noise but was ok to run it needs to be check. The worst thing that can happen is if another operator tells them that it is ok and to not worry, because chances are the other operator has no idea what the problem is. Seeing as this is a long post you probably won’t get to this part of it but you should only post when you have something relevant to add to the discussion. Berty the problem is that Buzzy is obviously the only source of this information and it has been used without permission or credit to the source. I know that Buzz has a lot of contacts at Wonderland as I do but unfortunately this is the first I heard about it but it has been on the cards for the last few months. Cough *Gran Turismo series* Cough. I personally think that PSP will kick DS into oblivion like XBox and PS2 did with GameCube. The only thing with PSP at the moment is the price, around $400, but then again remember when PS2 and XBox came out and look at them now, you can pick either up with at least one game for $300. That seems very strange that Disney of all places would have contractors doing the ride maintenance. I could understand it for the construction of a new ride but not for day to day. Pity emergency stops only work if the train is in a braking section of the ride. Hit the e-stop when the train is out on the track and it will keep going until it gets to the next block. So how do you feel about going out on a road? It is more than likely if you are on a major road that someone has died on it, but do you give that a second thought? I agree with Joz, if it is rider fault then they have no one to blame but themselves. Luckily most people who go to the park after a fatality have forgotten about what has happened and go on the ride. Personally I would feel a lot safer going on a ride after it had re-opened because I would know that the ride had been scrutinised and was in tip top shape. Hussy what's happening? Huss Rides have their own version of this ride. They even have several different themes. I have seen a colour drawing of the Dodo theme but I can't remember where that was. "The Bus is now leaving for Drawing Room Rocks, NSW"

Why is it not possible that they would add a sliding station? There was a post here lately that had a link to a shuttle coaster with effectively two stations so while one train was out the other train was being loaded. When the train got back the track would move sideways so the loaded train could be dispatched. This would increase capacity. I am not sure how popular VisionLand is so I’m not sure if it would make any difference. I am not sure if Phats cousin is a casual employee or not but being in the A/V department I would say he would be. Taking that into account it is very unlikely that they would have any information considering the park is currently closed and will be until closer to the northern summer.
