  1. Its discrimination I tell you - having free to air sucks. "The Bus is now leaving for Airaloo, NSW"
  2. Yeah you wouldn't want to wait more than 25 minutes for a reply would you? "The Bus is now leaving for Waiting Plain, Victoria"
  3. Either NTG was bailed out of trouble or they were not in any because they are still listed on the ASX. I haven't seen any of their vehicles around for a long time so I don’t know whats going on. "The Bus is now leaving for Stock Agents Bore, Northern Territory"
  4. Good someone else agrees with me. Thanks Diva (could it be Dina? I doubt it but it might start some rumours). "The Bus is now leaving for Divaricate Creek, Tasmania"
  5. No no. They were there before. "The Bus is now leaving for The Dakers Centre, Victoria"
  6. I went past there on the weekend and the place is very derelict and hasn't been used for sometime. It is currently for sale as a development site. You can still see where a couple of slides came down the 'mountain' of which there is only half left. "The Bus is now leaving for Warren Water Works, South Australia"
  7. For those people who are a little behind the rest of us (Queenslanders) the chick that does Madonna on StarStruck is an ex-employee of Wonderland. She was in retail and used to carry the huge bunches of balloons around. After that she moved into entertainment and that’s where she finished. "The Bus is now leaving for Struck Oil, Queensland"
  8. With the recent spate of kitten torture around Sydney, particularly in the west (Mt Druitt and Seven Hills), there has been speculation that these attacks are caused by teens that are bored during the holidays because they have nothing to do. It has been implied that due to the recent closure of several places around Sydney that catered for teens these acts have occurred. I have not read or heard Wonderland mentioned directly but the intended association is clear. Thoughts, comments. "The Bus is now leaving for Kittens Gully, NSW"
  9. What park doesn't have ugly back of house? "The Bus is now leaving for Little Ugly Creek, Queensland"
  10. AAAAAAAAAARRRRRRRRGGGGGGGGGGGGGGHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHH Don't mind me I'm just going to go and smash my head against the wall a few times. "The Bus is now leaving for Wailing Wall, Tasmania"
  11. Call me stupid (many people do) but I don't see the relevance between the two. I think that the next ride that DW gets will be a family ride or area. The last ride was a thrill ride and before that there was Nick Central so it's time they got something to cater for the whole family, something kids can go on with their parents and something teens and thrill seekers will enjoy. "The Bus is now leaving for Laurie & Jenny Poulton & Family Memorial Playground, Victoria"
  12. I’m just guessing here but I would say that the cost of dismantling, moving, converting and re-building would far out way the cost of a new observation tower. Why didn't you say that it was to go to another site in your original post? For all I know you could have the same frame of mind as Zordy and still think that the park will re-open in some form on its current site. "The Bus is now leaving for Port Mantle Hill, NSW"
  13. If it was anything like Utopia at Wonderland I can understand why they don't want to host one again. For the life of me I can't understand why Wonderland hosted more than one considering that during the clean up they found extensive evidence of drug use in the toilets, gardens, queue houses, stage area, pathways etc etc. "The Bus is now leaving for Utopia, Western Australia"
  14. Richard I have never and will never say that the Wonderland way of doing things was the right way. However it is not financially viable for a park in Australia to get a new ride every year, have 5 staff per ride, have Disney level themeing, etc etc. There is a chasm between the Wonderland way of doing things and the R-C forum member’s way of doing things and neither are suitable. "The Bus is now leaving for Chasm Gap Creek, NSW"
  15. And look at what? "To the east we have a major road interchange, in the distance is some factories and warehouses and beyond that the smog over Sydney. To the north we have a large cemetery. To the west is a quarry and beyond that are the Blue Mountains. To the south are more factories and warehouses and a rubbish dump. And directly below us are more factories and warehouses. We hope you have enjoyed visiting the Western Sydney Sky Tours, mind your step on the way down the ladders." I really think it is time everyone got it into their heads that none of the rides will ever be open for any use on the current site. "The Bus is now leaving for Observation Spur, Tasmania"
  16. Show me where else in Australia you can find the majority of the slides at WnW. It doesn't matter if there are dozens of each type of slide around the world because the vast majority of people going to WnW have and will never visit a water park outside of Australia. I am so glad that some of the people on this forum don't run any parks in Australia because if they did they would be out of business very quickly due to spending too much money on unique rides, over staffing, over themeing and several other issues. Remember these places are businesses not outlets for a few very picky enthusiasts. "The Bus is now leaving for Slide Inn, Victoria"
  17. When or if Space Probe is dismantled to go to another park they are going to have to have a 10 meter section built. They would use a big air gun to remove the bolts and an oxy-acetylene torch to cut through the welds. Once they have removed the 6 sections of the tower they still have a 10 meter section of tower and concrete in the ground, hence the reason for a 10 meter section to be re-built. Space Probe would not be very useful as a communications tower, for one thing it would be too hard to mount and microwave dishes on the side, if they want a communications tower they would build a fishbone type structure that is easy to get around on. Paul's reference to NTG is due to the fact that they have got their name plastered all over the top of the Space Probe dome. NTG got a real good deal there. They have had at least 9 months of free advertising. "The Bus is now leaving for Numjikompita Radio Communications Tower, South Australia" "The Bus is now leaving for
  18. Both of which are ex-Seaworld employees. "The Bus is now leaving for Bothwell, Queensland"
  19. Thanks for those photo's Buzzy. I think you will find that Aerial-800-13 was taken during the 2000 Olympics. How do I know this you ask? Look at car park 2 and how many cars are in it, then look at the pathways in the park and see how few people there are. Also look at car park 1 and see that there are heaps of free spaces so why would they be parking in car park 2? "The Bus is now leaving for Sydney Olympic Park, NSW"
  20. Actually no I didn't Alex. Have a look at what I said in that post, I was referring to the punctuation not spelling. "The Bus is now leaving for Spellesie Dam, Northern Territory"
  21. Ohhh another biatch fight, excellent. While on the subject it's pretty funny that Alex is laughing at his own 'joke' 2 days after he posted it. "The Bus is now leaving for Bitchigal, Victoria"
  22. From what I have heard it was Wonderland who terminated the Channel 7 sponsorship. When the Space Probe incident happened Wonderland asked 7 not to cover it but they did so Wonderland blew up and killed the contract. Since then the two companies have had a rocky relationship but towards the end several 7 network shows were filmed in the park (Great Outdoors, Sydney Weekender). "The Bus is now leaving for Block Seven Gorge, South Australia"
  23. The cable snapped. All three cabins were dispatched and one of the cables snapped. The operator e-stopped the ride stopping it only a few meters off the ground, not above the roof. As a result of the cable snapping the bottom half whipped down hitting a girl in the face causing a laceration. "The Bus is now leaving for Open Cut Well, Western Australia"
  24. Interesting bidding history on that item. I guess Curly and Alex didn't really want the item. "The Bus is now leaving for Bid Bid Creek, NSW"
  25. Scott if you were going to make that comment you could have used spaces to accompany punctuation. "The Bus is now leaving for Craigie Open Space, Western Australia"
