Alex that information is well known. The staff were told about plans for a business park at the beginning of 2002. There was even a model of the layout in the reception area of the admin building. Basically the business park was as it currently is at the entrance but would extend up behind the back of the park and all the way around to the area between Demon and the M4. There were even plans for a big new entrance to the park where the roundabout was built when the new road was put in (current site access). Gazza is right all 'grey water' goes into the sewer unless it has been re-directed for use in the garden. What I was saying was that use the water goes into the sewer from a backwash but there has to be a trap, usually s-bend on domestic pools and a big holy stainless steel bucket that catches solids and lets the liquid through. So someone still has to clean up the crap by empting the trap on a regular basis. I found some information about this at this link. Sydney Water has some information too. Unless the Skyrider gondolas were moved after closure they were never in the graveyard. Have a look at some of the photos I posted in another thread (I can't be bothered linking it). It shows the view from the HB Skyrider station looking down the cable. It clearly shows the gondola's sitting in the station. It was also the same in the Gold Rush station but those were spares that were stored under the station but were clearly visible from Auto's and the path in Gold Rush. Good at what they did? Hahahaha. The Action Man show was the worst 'acting' I have ever seen and I use 'acting' very loosely here. I have seen crappy kung-fu movies with better acting in them, and that’s saying a lot. Those guys thought they were king ****s around the park but really everyone laughed at them behind their backs, well ride ops did anyway. If it wasn't pertinent to the discussion then why did you bring it up? The lake was not drained completely for the setup of the water ski show, but they did drop the level by about a meter and they spent ages cleaning a lot of the weed out. The area around Bounty's was regularly cleared (about every 6 months or so). I saw heaps of stuff go in, several mobile phones, one was worth around $1500 (hey it was a few years ago). I also saw a guy’s wallet go in, it had over $1000 in it, and needless to say it as promptly retrieved. I did hear about a girl (early 20's) who was in the park with her boyfriend, she was all dressed up like she was going to a club (mini skirt, stilettos, make-up). It was mid-week non-peak but there were a couple of kids who had been on for about 3 rides in a row. When this girl and her boyfriend went on they sat in the middle where you can face other people. The couple sat next to each other and the kids sat opposite. Mid cycle one of the boys spewed and it went all over the chick. The operator could do nothing but let the ride finish the cycle and sit in the booth laughing their head off. Obviously the girl was not impressed at all. The most unusual thing that came off during a ride (Demon) while I was operating was a hearing aid. The guests family came up to me after the ride had finished saying they had lost a hearing aid. I thought it was one of the small ones so I started to look around and they then told me it was one that attaches to the side of the head and has a bit for the ear. Gold Nugget was used nearly until the end, from memory the last thing that was on there was a dance competition where studios from all over the place competed. I think it was the state titles. Before that they had Wrestling. WWF style but it was the Sydney guys doing it. It was pretty funny watching the guys trying to get the crowd going with WWF tactics butt the crowd just sitting there thinking "these guys are ****ers", well that’s what I was thinking anyway. A couple of years back they had a Wiggles concert there and there was nearly a riot. Mothers were queuing up at the entrance to Goldrush from 10, and then at the entrance to Gold Nugget from 11, but the concert wasn't until 1 or 2 so in the meantime there were a few fights between Mum's some of which continued while the concert was on. Basically the park didn't expect the kind of crowd they got so didn't have proper crowd control and they also put it in the smallest theatre in the park, it should have been in Action Arena or Sundowner.
