  1. Hey all, Last night I went to my first ever Halloscream at Luna Park and with this had very short lines for all rides so decided to see how many I could physically fit on and share my experience with others since I didn't find much info our there prior to going. Context, I'm a 132KG male, 190cm (around 6 foot 2-3) and hold my weight in my stomach and thighs. I'll go through the rides I went on and my experience with each so hopefully the next time you visit you can have an idea of what to ride. Slides - No issue here, had a bit of trouble getting into the slide bag but the attendant helped hold it as I put my legs in. I got some major air time on the bottom dip and landed hard into the cushions at the end. Ferris Wheel - No problem here as well. My friend I was with is half my size so our cage was slightly leaning toward my side but felt fine, very roomy. Tango Train - This was was a bit of a tight squeeze. The bar was pushed right into my stomach and I think if I was any larger I wouldn't have fit, the attendant that pushes the bars down tried once and it bounced back from my belly so he had to give it a harder push to get me in, but was still able to ride (though I am a bit sore today) Rotor - Again no issue. Dodgem City - Fit fine, my legs were the main problem here as I have quite long legs, but even another guy I saw that was about 200cm tall fit so it's a pretty friendly ride in that regard. Hair Raiser - I was shocked how well I fit on this ride. It has a weight limit of 136kg, though even at my size I wasn't questioned and the overhead support fit super well. Volare - I asked the attendant if this ride was fat friendly and she suggested I sit on the 2 person swing which made me laugh. Her intensions were in the right place, I hope. My friend and I ended up sitting together on a 2 person swing. The bar came down no problem, however, an attendant needed to adjust it as it wasn't locked in when it was on my belly and sort of needed to go under my belly to be locked. Though, if I knew what I was doing I probably could have fixed it myself without an attendant. Sledgehammer - Riders were stuck for an extended period of time at the end of their ride so I didn't get a chance / opted out of that one. Big Dipper - Kept this to last as it was the downer of the night. After seeing that same 200cm tall guy get told he was too tall to ride the coaster, I was next to feel the disappointment as the attendant pushed down on the lap bar to what I thought was an acceptable point as it locked in place and she walked away, only to come back 30 seconds later and say she needed to try again. After another attempt I could feel the problem was in my thighs when she was pushing down and even with her help I wasn't able to be 'safely' locked in. I had to do the walk of shame off the ride but when you're my size it comes to be expected sometimes. I was actually shocked at how fat friendly their rides were and now have a target to lose weight and go back to try the Big Dipper again in the future.
  2. Helloooo theme park brains trust! My 8yo daughter and I are heading to Dreamworld next month. It will be her first time, and I haven’t been in around 11/12 years! I was just wondering if anybody was able to tell me if any rides have test seats/harnesses you can try out before lining up to ride? We were at MovieWorld earlier this year and we went on the DC Rivals Hypercoaster. I probably should have checked out the test seat, but the line was ridiculous and it was so hot, I didn’t want to lose our place and thought all would be fine! Long story short, I got on and it did take a couple of tries before we were finally able to get the harness to lock, but I tell you what, I felt so embarrassed and honestly was freaking out that it wouldn’t hold the entire ride and so did not enjoy it nearly as much as I’d like to think I would have! It also took a couple of goes on the front row of the Scooby coaster too, which is our favourite. I’m about 165cm tall, and around 100kg, but hold all of my weight in my midsection which I think is why it was so hard to get the harness down. I would like to avoid as much embarrassment as possible on this trip, understandably haha. Also would hopefully like to get on the Superman ride at MovieWorld now I believe my daughter is tall enough to ride! Appreciate all and any feedback, thank you!!! - A clueless mum just trying to make memories!
