Maintenance listing for 2022 has been published online. For the most part, pretty standard, but these 3 have some lengthy downtime 

 

Due to SV having a short maintenance date, i don’t exactly know how long it takes to finalise a new ride experience but imo i doubt we’ll be seeing a new experience coming to the ride next year

A lot of the work could be done off site, and could be as simple as basically uploading a new video / sequence to the control system. I'm not sure how SV works exactly, but a company with as many rides built as Brogent would probably want to make it somewhat easy to do. I don't think it was down for very long at all when it was converted to Sky Voyager USA.

Sky Voyager can be updated and converted in minutes. So don't let it's short maintenance period fool you!

Long time for Giant Drop. Maybe we'll finally see the last bit of ToT's track removed.

MDMC’s second train is currently in the storage area and pretty sure the original train got replaced as well as it looks bright and brand new

 

Also, vintage cars is back to 5-6 cars instead of 3 and are utilising all 3 stop lights (2 in station before the load / unload area and 1 in the usual spot before the station) don’t know how long it has been like this but just thought i’d update

According to TPSN’s recent insta post (linked below), MDMC’s speed has been increased the new trains, anyone know if this is in fact true?

also with MDMC’s new trains, the ride does somehow feel a lot less uncomfortable it feels like the harness isn’t sitting as tight on your legs which actually improves the ride experience dramatically

That’s great they’ve got new trains which has helped comfort and speed. 

on the contrary - the old trains fitted my legs, the new ones (if that's what they are) do not. As I mentioned in my TR the operators were spieling constantly about how the harnesses were quite restrictive - something i've not seen them do before. 

I wasn’t aware it was due to new trains (they didn’t appear new/different to me) but for a few months now the loader has been telling people that the back restraint must fit snuggly to you, and that they have no control over it basically so even though you may “fit” if it doesn’t touch your back you cannot ride

Sorry dumb question but how do we know they are new trains?

When I was there I asked one of the ride operators and they said they were ‘new trains’, but when you’ve questioned it, I looked closely at photos of these ‘new’ trains in comparison to the ‘old’ trains and I’m not so sure. The shape of them is the exact same, but maybe they just got repainted and new stickers because the colour order is definitely different. And when the operator said it was faster, I think that might just be because the trains had a full refurb and they now reach the speed they originally did 

At least for now they can go a little faster than the family coaster nearby 

both trains are new trains and the ride is able to go faster then it use to go as the trains are lighter compared to the older ones, and the actual seating of the ride is different hence why some people that use to be able to fit into the restraint no longer can not fit

If you'll excuse the accidental double negative - ^what he said. The restraints are more restrictive - as I mentioned recently the operators are now spieling regularly that the restraints are restrictive and might not fit some guests. 

It’s great to see they are giving the attraction some attention. Hopefully they give the queue a refresh so the ‘theming’ doesn’t look so tired and old.

I noticed pieces of ribbon on certain areas of track/columns for MDMC, anyone know what that could be for?

was it a yellow ribbon around the old oak tree?

No it’s pink ribbons on the track 

Not sure what they are but they did something similar with Madagascar last year during maintenance.

It's surveyors tape or flagging tape. Used outdoors to create bright visible markers. Surveyors will attach them to boundary pegs and the like. Search and rescue teams also use it to mark the edge of their search patterns. 

So the tape itself doesn't have a specific meaning - it will be to indicate a spot or area that requires attention in some way. It could be markers for cleaning, painting, rust removal, NDT testing... heck it could even be the places to attach the dynamite for demolition.... (but probably not)...

MDMC reopening has been delayed by a month, now opening on April 26.

Couldn’t be because of shipping delays, I got my new iPhone delivered in three hours!
